I really would love a dragon quest 8 port on ps5 but with all the additional stuff that the 3DS version gave us but in HD and a dragon quest 10 port for America would be great

I know right? The English translations are even in the game files!
For some reason the DQXIS has downgraded the density of the grass sprites quite significantly (4:00 vs 5:50). It is really noticeable. The original PS4 DQXI looks far better in my opinion. But DQXIS plays better with the 60fps.
Not only that, they also downgraded the polycount on objects, the texture qualiy and the lghting on the S version.
But yes, de frame rate is better on the S version.
Sad we didn't get a true definitive edition, with best content, graphical fidelity and performance.
Cool demonstration, I think I'll still be holding off till something like a new DQ game gets announced and is exclusive to it. Thanks for sharing Ryan!

Still puzzled why the PS4 versions of DQ1-3 aren't available in English, I don't have a Switch and am not a fan of games on mobile phones.
It’s also crazy how they were datamined and the English text is hidden in the files.

Yes, you can play most games on your PS5 except for a few PSVR titles.

Nope, the Orchestra soundtrack is only for DQXIS.
Man, I wish they ported the Zenithian trilogy and dq 8 to switch or Playstation. I’ve never gotten to play them

@ 19:00 the one that started it all!!!! I'm not knocking the other franchise but I just wished dragon quest was as popular here in the states rather than Japan. Because I love final fantasy don't get me wrong, but I ADORE Dragon quest. I wish DQ was as popular in the states as FF. Do you know there are certain days in Japan that dragon quest CAN NOT LEGALLY BE SOLD. I think one came out on a Thursday and SO MANY people called in sick to work and it LITERALLY shut the economy down. Not just workers were doing it. Even middle and upper management, they had to make a law about what day it can be released. That's crazy.

It's been in the works for a while and maybe we'll finally see a preview for DQ's 35th anniversary next year.
@@battlegeekplus It's actually past time they do. Generally it's a 6 month window after initial announcement. So we're over a year out since the Switch and since they would have started development, because of said announcement.
The only reason they've waited so long is not to damage the second DE release sales numbers. People do tend to withhold money if they know the next game or next release is coming down the pipeline. Especially these days.
So for sure, if we don't see DQ12's teasers leading into the 35th anniversary, and a full announcement, including console, early screens, early video, at least one or two new additional content elements unique to DQ12, and likely a hint as to whether we see a class system or not, I would be very shocked.
@@ignasia7230 They started work on DQXII in early 2019. It was around March if I remember right.
Dragon Quest (mainline) games in the modern age take about 3.5 years to develop, then a year after release we get it in the West. So about September 2022 for Japan, and around September - December 2023 for the West.
Just started playing the OG DQ11 and it looks amazing! Then I tried the demo its not the same, it’s a downgrade imo. It looks bland and lighting and shadow is absent. I recommend getting the S version on switch or if havent played the OG DQ11 you wont notice the downgraded graphics. 😢
It seems DQXIS should be running at 60 fps on Pro, so I don't get why you're saying it only runs at 30.

Trying to get into Dragon Quest XI but I'm confused as to which one to get. I know the PS4 and Xbox One X/Series X version just dropped recently. I want to play the game on my PS5. Is the Demo you showed on PS5, the one running at 60 fps, the same as the PS4 version of XI S that just released (basically enhanced)? Or is there an actual PS5 version that's only digital? I want this game in Physical format. Also does the game on PS5 run 4k or 1080p?
Yes, it’s the PS4 version running on the PS5 at 1080p. There is no specific PS5 version.

I really think that the 1991 original anime has done so many things *better than the 2020 remake anime,* and the reason why I'm suggesting to watch it now is, if the remake anime "sums-up" the story of the original anime in *25 episodes* (given how *rushed* the new remake anime is), then it might feel like a "chore" to re-watch the story again which was done in *46 episodes in the original anime.* Thus, it is better to *watch the original first* and THEN focus on watching the remake anime IMO. Anyways, thanks for considering my suggestion! :]

@ Battle Geek Plus I really enjoyed your video and I was interested in how you were able to download the digital Japanese releases of DQI-III. I want to get them as well, but I don't understand how to get a Japanese PSN card (I'm savvy enough to have a Japanese PSN account at least) so that I can buy Japanese digital games. I've gone to Play-Asia and they don't seem to take debit cards or PayPal, so I'm not sure what to do next. I want these games so bad. Can you help direct me in the right direction, please? DQ1 is my favorite in the series.
Play Asia was only place I was able to get Japanese PSN store cards to get DQI-III. They should accept PayPal since I just preordered one of the Dragon Quest Dai figures from there.

IP Block is everywhere except Japan and the USA. You can play it on PS5 if you're in those countries.

You need to test DQB2 online mode. On Switch big building so taxing it can becomes a slideshow while the PS4 edition drops from 60 to around 30fps.
No man. The game (specifically S - Definitive Edition) on Series X or PS5 is locked to 60 fps, not 30 fps. Also native 4K on Series X. With better textures and lighting inside interiors, compared to the original version on PC or PS4 Pro.
While outside, it's just slightly better looking than the Switch version. But character models are a tiny bit lesser and it lacks quite a few shadows due to it using a different lighting engine.
Overall it's about as good looking as other versions that came before it, and better looking than Switch version.
I mention that XIS is 60fps several times in the video. The original XI is locked at 30fps.

So 7 times I've bought this game and I have collector's edition.

Unfortunately, most of the DQ's would require patches to remove fixed time schedules to lock patterns to the PS4 clock cycles to account for so many concurrent AI patterns, city scapes, etc. There's no guarantee they would do that. Builders is so simplistic, it has few locks, so it would naturally acclimate to inherent hardware upgrades.
I should also point out that's about 1/4 the PS4 Pro load time for DQB2, for your map. Time it next time, and you'll see. It's not quite PC, but that's more to do with how it's optimized to load into RAM for the PS4, and then sped up with PS5 throughput, so it just needs PS5 optimization. Hopefully we see that kind of patch, but I doubt it, as it's not SE's general thing. DQ11 is more likely given Japan, but who knows, maybe DQB2 will be seen as important enough with enough sales to optimize.
Also, one last bit. Frame Rate is locked, that's why. It should hit 100+ for PS5 if pure hardware, 200+ if optimized.

@@battlegeekplus Hopefully Ryan, hopefully. Even if not, it takes my PS4 Pro almost 3 minutes to load my IoA, so that's a happy space for me for Builders at least, even without optimization.
How does Xbox compare to PS5 on DQ11 load times for the same maps? Given the sewers is a small dungeon?
@@ignasia7230 I have a Series X and a PS5, and the XI - S demo for both. So I'll answer this. The load times are very close to the same, but not quite as Series X is a bit quicker.
As for the quality of visuals/textures, they are slightly better on the Series X as well. In the opening part of the game when you go in that first cave, the textures are just a bit better and more detailed on the Series X. And I'm not a fanboy of Xbox. PlayStation is actually my preference over Xbox. But from what I've seen in my own comparisons, it's going to be a bit better on the Series X.
Frame rate looks the same on both; locked 60.

It’s no longer region locked in the USA. It’s still region locked everywhere else.
I prefer the orginal DQ11 (ps5) over the DQ11S on Series X... 60 fps look smoother but the low polygons assets look way worse. And its an rpg no need for 60fps
There is only one dragon quest game on the PS5 but it’s not out yet that’s dragon quest X awakening of the five Tribes just cause the PS5 plays PS4 games doesn’t make them a PS5 game
