This 'first-run' Les Paul Jimmy Page Signature guitar weighs just 8.90 lbs. and has a nice fat nut width of just over 1 11/16 inches and a standard Gibson scale length of 24 3/4 inches. Just like Jimmy Page's original '59 guitar, the neck is thick at the nut and at the neck heel, like a typical 1959 Les Paul, but it tapers to a super-slim depth in the middle. Solid mahogany body with a nice 'tiger-stripe' two-piece carved maple top with single-ply cream binding. One-piece mahogany neck, and rosewood fretboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets and inlaid pearl trapezoid position markers. Two Gibson Ceramic Magnet Humbuckers. ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic retainer bridge with metal saddles and separate stud tailpiece. All hardware gold-plated. Apart from some very slight rubbing to the gold signature on the pickguard this is a mint example complete with it's original truss-rod adjustment tool, case key, strap button fasteners and Gibson Custom Customer Care Guide booklet. Housed in the original Gibson custom black hardshell case with maroon plush lining (9.50). - เพลง
PHILX is a beast! He cracks me up and plays some mean riffs!
I’m so happy the algorithm started showing me all my old favorite Phil X videos
I have to say that is probably my favorite sounding guitar phil has ever reviewed.

No, matter how shitty I feel (which is most of the time), Phil X and F.A.'s videos always put me in a good mood, even if its only for the length of the video.
Top man! Infectious enthusiasm and fuck can he play!
Whenever i need some motivation i watch a phil x vid. Honestly I dont think anyone has motivated more than this guy to play guitar!
I dont know if he ever reads these comments but I would like to say thank you!
it's amazing, all those different tones you get with the push/pull knobs!
great guitar!
Love this guy's energy.
Makes it way more fun to watch.
i could listen to you play all day xD
You are so awesome that I started doing covers of your playing in these videos
Phil X You Rock.
Thanks for turning us on to the BeBot app.
I love him when he implies that if somebody says bad stuff to him, they might be in trouble. I love the way he says that!
Phil, you just seem like a genuinely nice human being. your also very lucky with those guitars, i am very jealous!!!
He's canadian, of course he's nice!
Totally! Just discovered him myself!
Finally, a guy who actually has fun while demoing a guitar and he doesn't look like a high school shop teacher (like all the other guitar guys on youtube)!
this guy just keeps me so excited
coolest person living on this planet!! :D always makes my day better watching your videos Phil!!
Phil X is classic and these videos 12 years old love that t-shirt to
Phil X...like a morning cup o' joe. Always gets my day off to a good start. Aloha Brother!!!!!!!!!
this guy is awsome..... he obviously loves it!!! good to see someone having fun.
Please do another video with this guitar! I am happy that you've made a longer video, but please do this again, longer. I love this guitar!
you should go on tour with this as an act, its f**kin priceless. Best guitar review out there I have ever come across! The dude who's trying to sell me his 95 Jimmy Page Sig, has now sold his guitar thanks to you haha.
watchin theses videos always inspires me to pick up my les paul and just crank my marshall..
Gotta love this guy, not only for demoing guitars, but just his character, keep it going. I think I would like him to demo a Rickenbacker from the 60s.
love your energy Phil. That theremone app thingy was a cack. gotta love the Zep's
phil, you have the greatest job in the world!
God dude your great at singing and playing the guitar!! Your a badass!! Hell ya go Phil x!!!!
The tone on that les paul when you did the whole lotta love solo made my head completely explode
Back in '97 Fall time approx. a good friend brought his over and we plugged it and he had a Musicians Friend Catalog that had all the how to settings and it had settings pull this push that and it approximated what the songs called for ''AMAZINGLY'' realistic just like the recordings sounded like! Whoever did the research should have be commended for nailing the 15 song catalog, I was blown away not only for the perfect registers but I also had my '55 LP Special RI from '75 and still do with a Ibanez Super 70 in the bridge and I needed an OD to OD my '73 1987 model Marshall half stack and the JP LP did it without any outboard. I figured it had a battery operated gimmickry installed to accomplish what I was hearing, ''IT DIDN'T"!
Before the lot of only 250 to be distributed @ $3.7k was completed around 175 from recollection it was noted you couldn't get it any longer. It was different in the neck was flatter than a normal '59 or from the '60 thinner necks it was shaved down to spec and wider in a big sense that a bigger hand was needed to play it and it was the most beautiful LP looking and sounding (definitely)I had seen in the 25 plus years at that time of me playing...what got me was my friend showed me as I said the MF catalog and I remember the price closer to $5k and maybe in exaggerating who knows that the rest were liberated to be sold by a private company and sold as auctions or it would definitely be alot more money yea it was different in many ways and its legend too but believe me in what I'm telling you it sounded like a crisp piano without plugging it in and out of the box, majestic in every quality sake to me it's worth its weight in gold but only that LES PAUL I think it's ludicrous for the prices they go for...the only other encounter of majesty was a '60s SG Walnut colored bigger and thicker than the usual SG both sounded piano like and crisp around '72 the guy was particular and peculiar about it and paid $400.00 for it around $68k or better today! .
Phil, you rock man, big time!
wow what an awesome versatile guitar
i LOVE this guitar...wow..
Dude... you are friggin' great.
Great player to watch and listen to, even when talking. Great singer too IMHO!
lol, i went and saw kool and the gang live, my dad and i were at a VH concert and they were the opener, they were great!!
killer guitar and playing
if more people were like Phil X, the world would just be a better, more pleasant and fun place.
I met him, a year ago, and I'm seeing him again soon! He's so funny :P
what an inspiring player.
If you guys didn't know the 2 of the push-pull's split the humbuckers separately and one reverses the phase of the neck pickup so it doesn't so any thing if you playing only one pickup but when you play both it makes a difference and sound cool. the 4th pp puts the both pickups, when played together, in series instead of in parallel, like it's normally.
split and phase inversion at the same time...just heavenly!
Wow!!!! That was Amazing!! Just realy realy made my day!!
Phil is this type of dude you would let smoke all your pot just to hang out with lol Of all the videos I been seeing about guitars on You Tube yours are the best.
My god I must get that theremin app! And I am in love with that LP. Also Phil you are awesome as usual.
Last one of those I worked on, was wired incorrectly from Gibson. Volume pots were used to split the coils, one of the tone pots was for reverse phase, the other for series/parallel switching. Phil could make a broom-stick rock.
The out-of-phase only works in the middle position with both pickups on. So the 2 volume pots split the neck and bridge. The neck tone switches between series and parallel. And the bridge tone is the out-of-phase switch.
Keep the hair long Phil!!!! Killaaaaahhh!
Loved it !!!
sounds amazing.
love the les pauls but can't afford one, because of your videos i bought a standard tele with upgraded pick ups and also because of your videos i got the shop to raise the pick ups to get a better and higher output bite that i was looking for.
Thanks!!
Seriously deadly Jimmy tone on the breakdown for whole lotta love, very tasty sir.
@frettedamericana Oh cool! Thanks for the response! Love the videos, love the channel, love the people!
if only... would love this guitar
Holy shit, that sounds like 2 completely different guitars. Amazing.
I really want that guitar.
C'mon Phil! Don't be mad that someone pointed out the phase inverters! People wanna hear that and we are already jealous that you get to play all these sweet guitars so you can understand if we are a little peaved if you don't even know what you've got in your hands! I personally love these videos either way!
1997 was a great Year for Gibson guitars

dude are you alive ?
@@deniz9062 i think so!
@@mariahkoko great to hear that :D
If I could only choose one guitar for ever (a new one, except the vintages, of course) would be this one!
Dude I love your videos, you are a fantastic guitarist and you sound like Bobcat Goldthwaite when you get hypo. Rock on brother !
phil you are the best guitarist on the planet!! TEACH ME!!!!!
As for this version of the Jimmy Page Les Paul, it was $3.7k in 1997 at that time,..to my recollection it was a rare find even to the Pros and Semi-Pros and to be added as a Collector's bounty a very Collectible Icon and get it while you can to the point that other versions were added on,.. this is a version from the Musicians Friend's catalog,.. I saw others that varied with covers and what have you. Now in 2014, 3 years running there's a ''Black Beauty'' LP Custom of 3 pickups with a Bigsby and a multi-positional toggle switch and the going price is a mere $28k through the exclusive distribution of the ''Guitar Centers''!!
I love that guy!
Man you remind me jim morrison =\ good work man and a fu..... great guitar. wish I had that one \m/
@brainiestben sorry, no we don't have one in stock at the moment - check out our website for current stock
@austin7956 why not? the whole point is he splits the pickups with the coil taps into single coils, that strats have, which is why its strat sounding
love your shirt man
Mr. X is one hell of a musician
Forgot to mention this, legend has it that different lots exist and different parts and MODELS from '97 exist as well! The resale on some was $8k while others from $18-$25k that's gotta tell you something!
