It sure looks like you’re filming the beach and sandy path along the stores on the island of Boracay. I’ve been there. That is nowhere near Cebu. Very misleading if it is, since your video is about Cebu. 🫤

Wow, that's more expensive than i thought, l currently live in a penthouse apartment with a loft and all utilites included for about $600 a month in moscow and I have much faster wifi, excellent public transportation and high quality of life here. can have a nice life style here for $1,000-1,200 a month total, including rent. So I guess the Philipines is just gonna be more expensive but I hope the people and the beaches will make it all worth while.

Still so much cheaper the the US ! --- Your rent alone would eat up most of what you are spending + you need a car at a tremendous expense ? --- No comparison. --- A bit removed outside the big cities will allow just as good a life for less. If you buy a used scooter for $1000 - transportation is cheap and saves you money. Rent is much cheaper as well. My guess is about $1200 or so most months - maybe a little more other months. --?-- 🤔 Just a bit of frugal and thrifty ?
I appreciate the comment. Are you living in the US?. When I compare the two the cost savings is huge. In most of the US you need a car. Gas, Insurance, Food costs are much higher. In California home prices and rents are through the roof. I can only speak for myself. My quality of life is better than when I'm in the US.
@@whereisgregnow5989 I'm near Lexington Ky - cheap here compared to California ! -- Looking seriously at Tagaytay where it's much cooler @ 2000 ft elevation and much cheaper than Manila. Still only an hour or so from their airport. Beautiful views clean air fresh produce and only an hour from a nice beach. --- Going to start there and see how I like it. > Most US expats there already - love it. --- I'm thinking I may buy a 3 wheel tuk tuk for my transportation locally ! -- Use a nice bus w/ac for longer trips. --?--
My electric bill here in Dumaguete is much higher than it was in Fl and I use the ac much less !

Im living in Thailand with a similar lifestyle, and it my expenses are about $1300usd, including rent .

I spend $3600 a month in Cebu. Places like Bohol, Ormoc, Duma are significantly cheaper. Better food too.
I have to stay in Cebu due to remote work reasons (need reliable 300+mpbs internet access.

Perhaps if you enjoy those other areas more than Cebu you should consider Star link for internet. 300+ mbps is not so easy to achieve. If I may ask? How is it possible to spend $3600 per month living in Cebu?
Fairly easy to get extensions on the tourist visa.
My water bill averages $25 in the Midwest. Electric bill averages $100. Medicine: 0. Phone: $55. WiFi: $30. Rent/mortgage: $830. Car payment: $450. Car insurance $125. Fuel: $80. Food maybe $200-$300 a month. So about $2000/month (minus car payment in about 4-5 years once it’s paid for.) So Cebu, Philippines is about the same as the Midwest.
I have lived in California most of my life. Your cost of living is really great. For myself I see a big difference in the quality of life. In California I can't afford to have Lattes at Starbucks in the morning. I can't really afford to go out for a nice dinner several times a week. I can't afford to live the good life unless I continue to work. I probably should check out the Midwest. Do you prefer the Midwest over the Philippines?
The Philippines is more expensive than Spain where I presently live and we are talking about 3rd vs 1st world countries. Free medical in Spain, and so on! California yes, is insane! The only reason expats go to the Philippines is that they can find love!😂 A big price to pay....
I pay €300/month for food, cooking at home healthy meals, wine, beer and €400/month rent and utilities.

Specifically where in the Midwest do you live? roughly 80% of all other places in the US are much higher than the numbers you listed. Any larger metro area is going to be double that or more

The place that I stayed at the longest was Mactan Newtown. Transportation was easily accessible.
I've never saw a trike that charges 100 per pax on a trike in cebu city. You are getting hosed.
Hi Jason, If you take the trike by yourself it usually runs 100 pesos or so. If you are on a shared trike it only costs about 15 pesos. Thanks so much for the comment
@@whereisgregnow5989 I thought that you were paying for the whole trike. You don't have to do that. If they pick you up along the road just pay the 15. Then if you board on the line for me I just wait for the trike to fill. I let my wife do the price ahead with them. That way if they want to take advantage we can skip past to the next trike. But you are definitely right 100 is for the whole trike. I have done that before when we are in a hurry.

Also, MINIMUM trike price is 30pesos in Tagbilaran and 25 in Duma. 15 pesos for a trike hasn't existed in a Philippines city since 2010.

Most people are concerned with inflation including myself. As I mentioned in the video the food costs were higher and the local people are feeling it especially. I don't think I need to give you a price on a loaf of bread or the price increase on a roll of toilet paper. Unless i somehow missed it but i watched the whole video and was waiting for the comparison. Not trying to be a jerk how is anyone one to know what the inflation is.
