Back in my High School Days I had a FORD 66 Mustang Coupe that I fixed up like a 66 Shelby GT350 Coupe and it had a 289ci V8 with a 3sp C4 Auto Trans with a Shift Kit!
Today, this would be a perfect Swap for a 64 1/2 thru 66 Mustang Coupe, using a 5.0L Coyote engine, with the 10R80 10sp Auto Trans and a Gen 5, 3.0 Whipple S/C! (Much Lighter in Weight)
Next, I would like to see FORD Performance to come out with the New 2020 Shelby GT500 5.2L S/C engine and 7sp DCT Crate Engine/Trans Combo!
Lastly, I would like to see FP Offer a Stand Alone Swap Kit to mount a 6sp 6R80, 10sp 10R80 and the New 7sp DCT to be mounted to a FORD Push Rod as well as the Newer Modular FORD Engines!
Especially a 10R80 10sp and/or the Newer 7sp DCT Auto/Manual Trans that would mount to a 2007 thru 2014 Shelby GT500 with the 5.4L and 5.8L S/C Engines!...I am Just Saying!...God Bless America! 😇

Awesome that Ford is putting the effort into getting these setups out there! I have to say I prefer the 6r80 myself though, proven reliability with elevated power levels that the 10r80 just hasn't been able to match without being "built"!

The 10spd is absolute garbage. When I got my 2017, there right a 2nd gen. First thing I did was change the mt82 for a t56 close ratio with 4.56 torsion rear end and 28" 325 tires. The 3rd gen 10spd couldn't touch me.
Tune-ability thats what people want. When it shifts... how hard etc

Unfortunately it is not "in anything you want" the Ford kits are for 2 wheel drive only. I did call Ford Performance because I'm doing a 3rd generation coyote and 10R80 swap in a 68 Bronco, "can't be done with they're kits". If you want to do such a swap call Power by the hour in Florida, they can help you out.
I hear the 10r80 is not very good boosted. 6r80 has been proven to hold great with boost.....what does everyone think about this??
10r80 will do fine, 6r80s are too slow

I'm glad that Ford is offering these, but they really need to work on that price.
Right now for about the same price ($14,500) you can buy a slightly used Coyote/10R80 with everything you need for a swap, but *WITH* a 2.9 liter Whipple! The Whipple alone is worth almost half the price. At the moment there are even a couple Coyotes with the newer 3.0 liter Whipple for just a little bit more.
stylac for $14,500 you can buy any used performance oriented engine (enter here), build it and walk that Coyote. Sorry, love Ford and Coyotes, but Ford is starting to get a little crazy with the prices on those and a dose of reality is needed. However, if you have the money and have to have it then more power to you.
@@velr50gt That eBay price is for EVERYTHING needed for a swap - Engine, supercharger, Trans, harness, even the fuel tank. Even Chevy guys would have a hard time coming up with an 800 horsepower combination that complete and ready to install for the same price.
@@TqSNv9R0iG5Ckxew except those are 6 speed not 10 speed. This is a 10 speed 3rd gen coyote combo, this engine and trans in a foxbody would run low 10s without a supercharger.

My Mistake. It looks like there's only one Whipple/Coyote/10R80 Combo on eBay right now and they're asking $17,500 for it. At that point you're better off getting a used $10,000 Coyote/10R80 combo and buying a new Whipple separately.
@@TqSNv9R0iG5Ckxew the problem is that you cannot just swap a 10r80 into any car because of all the extra sensors it has. Thats where this control pack comes in. Its deletes all those sensors and can be put into any car.
