I wear a device in my mouth for sleep apnea but find my jaw very tight many mornings. This is an excellent video. Thank you so much for your dedication to wellness!

here are the symptoms for bruxism:
    1. Jaw pain
    2. toothache(especially in teeth at the back)
    3. neck pain(it would probably result in headache as well)
    4. you feel like you didnt sleep well even after sleeping 12 hours
    5. you get high peaked sound in your ear regularly
you get different symptoms based on the level of bruxism and how long have you has it for
    how to deal with it:
its basically result of stress. maybe there is something specific stressing you out or you could be stressed because of different reasons. anyway you need to deal with your stress. check whats stressing you out and get rid of it or reduce it as much as possible. you can reduce your stress through excercising daily. meditation is very good as well.
to reduce it more dont clench your jaws unnecessarily. for example dont bite on a pen while thinking or bored and dont bite your nails. be aware of your jaw especially if you're stressed; you might start clenching unconsciously because of your stress and then worsen your situation at night.
this is all from my experience with bruxism. if you have good information you can add to it.
    hope you all get bettee

@@Rahul-uk4su But you do have a sensation of ear fullness on your TMD side?
I'm trying to do a differential diagnosis on myself, that's partly why I'm asking, to see if other people have similar symptoms. I have a bit of pain in my left jaw, a bit of ear fullness mostly on my left side, clicking sounds when I swallow, and sometimes symptoms of somatic tinnitus, which comes and goes (e.g. when I turn my head/neck right, tinnitus appears, when I turn my head left, the tinnitus disappears). I've had a loud clicking sound from my jaw joint for as long as I can remember, but it's only in the last few years that I've had these other symptoms.
I was in a serious car accident at 14 or 15, I'm not sure if that's when the disc displacement/bite misalignment started or if I've had it all my life.

I first had TMJ when I was 19 while eating popcorn watching a movie. It was quite shocking, didn't know what to do.
So I thought I share some of the remedies that helped me:
    1) First remedy was to sleep on the jaw side where I wasn't having the TMJ. By doing this, the side of the jaw with TMJ will automatically correct itself (by morning) through the help of gravity (thus, naturally).
    2) It also helped, to sit straight and not slouch.
    3) Another remedy that helped me was doing breathing meditation; it helped lessen muscle stress; as stress is one of the causes of TMJ.

TMJ is a real pain got it due to stress, anxiety (the usual BS). I actually went to the immediate care because of ear problems (tinnitus, internal itching and popping) and my ears are fine. Its amazing the mess this TMJ can cause. When I was a teen, I remember one time not being able to open my mouth.

This actually encouraged my jaw to move forward as it should, I'll try and stick to doing it everyday to see if it helps long term! Thanks

I don’t grind my teeth but I clench them, and my jaw muscles feel tight from stress and anxiety. I’ve been having headaches from it and the headaches make me feel tired. Is that common?

hey! good to see your comment, I have it too! I think for me it started as a side effect of one antidepressant I've been taking, then I got used to it as a (not working at all but..) coping mechanism with my anxieties and it sticked with me since then (and I'm not taking said antidepresssants half a year already). But after the exercises from the video my jaw feel more relaxed, so I hope it will work in the future:) good luck with yours!

Omg im having the same thing! I clench my jaw, I do not grind me teeth while sleeping...im pretty sure anyways. But I do clench during the day and night. I have 2 back molars I need pulled bc I have cavities in them and they have JUST recently started bothering me, not a whole lot...but little sensations here and there. So, naturally I've been freaking out thinking the pain in my upper jaw and side of face is because of these 2 teeth (one on each side, both bottom...one is a molar the other a wisdom). Oh, AND I had 2 filling recently come out on 2 other teeth near the front, my pre molars. I am seeing the dentist but not for 2 more weeks. They don't seem rushed to take care of these fillings I guess. But yeah....so these sensations I've been having have been freaking me out. Last night, I was up late in bed watching TH-cam, and I noticed several times I was clenching my jaw and had my mouth resting In kind of a weird way, I dunno how to describe...but, it just felt different then daytime positioning. I kept having to catch myself and stop clenching and adjusting how I was placing my mouth/jaw. I woke up this a.m. and my left side jaw was aching so badly...right up by my left ear. Again, I've been thinking this mild pain has been bc of these teeth, but the thing is...my teeth don't hurt. Every now and again I'll get a slight sensation of achiness in my tooth, but it doesn't linger. This jaw pain/sensatikn pretty much does. I notice I do this too when I'm stressed or more anxious about something...which is usually all the time. ugh

I was trying to eat a burrito and couldn’t open my jaw enough, if I forced a lot It was opening, but claked very loud and hurts and when I closed the mouth It got locked again. I was so frustrated that I left my food and went try to find a solution on TH-cam.Thanks so much! After doing those exercises for about 10 mins I can actually open and close my jaw all the way and go back to eat my burrito enjoying it much more! 😊
