    You might want to consider installing the factory air system from the doner car into the red car. Mighty Car Mods recently had a video where they tried an expensive K&N system on a Suzuki Swift and actually got LESS horsepower than they got from the factory air system. They found that the factory system was better tuned to the car.

    Pull the driveline, wiring harness and any other good parts and recycle the shell. Even if you dont use the parts, some else may need something and you could possibly save several othe capachino's.

    don't forget to swap out the back window trim from the beater to the red car. It has to fit better than the one you have. Also, see if it has the parts you need so your back window will roll down.

    Awesome day of Work Nick!! Who knew the Blue one was so rusty, so max respect for you being able to admit to being wrong about the rust. Someone definitely commented that type of rust, the carriage must be bad. You lucky you were able to drive it home and the bottom didn't fall out. It's just crazy!! The wood grain defiitely looks classy and I would say keep that performance ECU and just sell the rest. Big up to you and your channel and work. 👍🏽👍🏽

    Ditto the folks who vote for stripping it out. It's worth more as parts, to you, or to someone else. And USE THE SPORT COMPUTER!!! Can't think of a single reason not to. Spent a half hour putting my carbon fiber look "Up Garage" sticker on my tool cart last night. Looks great!

    • @Waybeforethefame

    11:50 - ACH! Mein eyes! Dude, would it kill you to use a crimp on ring terminal? 😲
    Good day of Cappuccino work. You seem to have the same problem I have, where all of the little projects are waiting on one critical item - speedometer repair for you and painting the interior for me, and of course the winter weather isn't helping.
    Be sure to sweep up the rust and put it back under the floor mats to get maximum scrap metal price out of Mr. Rusty Blue.

      @@Waybeforethefame Because it's not meant to be there. In stock form there is no loose wire on the cluster, only the 2 plugs.

  • @graceno162
    @graceno162 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    The instrument cluster shouldn't have that single wire attached to it, all the wires are connected through the two multi connectors. The problem is most likely either the pickup sensor mounted on the right hand side of the diff. or damp causing a short in the wires under the carpet in the drivers side footwell.

    • @Waybeforethefame
      @Waybeforethefame  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Why do you think that wire was connected on the blue one?

    • @graceno162
      @graceno162 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Waybeforethefame Sorry, I don't know. The Cappuccinos are electronically speed limited to about 85 mph and will go considerably faster if the limiter is disabled. This is normally done by cutting a wire, but will cause the engine management light to come on. It is possible that the wire was used as an attempt to disable the limiter (just a guess). Incidentally the Cappuccinos sold in the UK had speedometers marked in MPH, not just KPH. These are usually available on Ebay in the UK if this is of interest.

    If I was you, I wouldn't worry about trying to keep value on the doner car. I'd put the racing ECU, and anything The good car could use, on the good car. You are going to get your money's worth out of the old car, especially when you consider the cost of shipping parts from Japan.

    Damn, that Cappi is even worse than I suspected. Mind you, in the UK they have a reputation for rusting badly, all that salt in the winter doesn't help. With that performance ECU fitted I wonder what it was used for back in Japan. So now there's a bonus ECU but the car needs to visit an ICU.

    4:10 yo...god dam i wish i had 3 grand i buy it from u without seats for 2 and have it shipped to my shop. god damn man...ive been looking for bad excuse to chop up my wrecked civic. flux core welder HO! lola
    8:50 do it, swap it over.
    11:45 thats sadly not a drive by cable speedo, looks like more wiring issues. thats got a stepper motor in it for the speed.
    14:50 stereo probably
    with the tac not working too well id swap out the ECU, and if it does the same thing ur going to be chasing wiring issues hopefully not much. tracing a harness isnt fun but its not hard. rustacino isnt really worth keeping nice. i love crappy cars, like my hondas 🤣 good luck with the sell

    • @Odd_Redneck
      @Odd_Redneck 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Waybeforethefame that doesnt bother me. Rust isnt fixable but replaceable. I got a whole civic i can chop up and make a whole new cappo. Aslong as its just rust in the floor is the worst its not the end of the world. Ive already patched up 2 cars frame and floorboards. Biggest pain would be if the strut towers are about ready to poke thru. That requires more percision than what i got on hand but a tube chasis isnt hard to build if u base it off whats stock. So it be a front half or whole tube chasis by the time i was done 🤣. What was it cartem 660? Lol. Metal work is prob the Easiest there is to do. Only bad thing about it is how much there is to do.

    The truth is some of the sellers did cluster swap with a lower mileage one when they are selling. No way there are so many hot 25 to 30 year old jdms with mileage between 50 to 100k km.

    • @Waybeforethefame
      @Waybeforethefame  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    • @gabriel_lim82
      @gabriel_lim82 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Waybeforethefame yeah..the seat, steering wheel, shift knob condition often tells alot of stories. Some of my mate's old cars turned up on used car markets with 100k km lesser hahaha. It happens everywhere in the world. Most important is the car is being cared for prior to that. Mileage for used cars can only be taken with a huge pinch of salt 🤣
