Pete I greatly appreciate the many years of lessons. I didn't have anyone around growing up to teach me about Muskie fishing even though I'm from Southern Ontario. I've always had a huge fascination with them but also used to look at catching Muskie as a thing of lore and indeed those damn 10,000 casts. Lots of trial and error around highly pressured big water out here, but you helped me big time by dialing in a lot key strategies which have contributed to the skills and confidence I carry on the water. Forever grateful Sir. Thank you

Great stuff as always! I picked up some abrazx previously on your suggestion and youre right, its great. Just tried that knot though, and its nowhere near as easy as you do it. Need to practice a bunch first before you get it right.

Thanks Pete, I absolutly did do that hook and blade switch with one of my lures from your previous answered question of mine, although I have to wait untill October in my area to throw it offshore... (Lake St. Clair ~ )..and this knot is in the books now aswell, thankyou much for taking the time.. Maby you could do a video on why/which certain rods are for specific lure methods on the smaller end of the spectrum that aren't obvious to the eye and only to a tournament angler.. have a good day

It's called a Centauri knot. Super easy to tie, takes some practice to cinch. I'm a huge Centauri knot fanboy

Having the tag end pointing away from the lure tends to pick up more weed I find.
With heavy fluoro I just put the tag through the lure, wrap 3 times around the main line then back through the gap between the lure eye and the knot.
Pulls down small, tag end pointing backwards and doesn’t fail.

Do you do that on both ends or how do you attach to the main line? Also, how long do you like your leaders to be?

Yeah I tie both ends. Approximately a foot for casting leaders; I run about 4 feet for live bait and 8 feet for trolling

Why leave a long tag end for trolling leaders?
