    It looks easy and delicious. Thanks Dr. I keep watching your videos every day. For how long this mayo can be safe to consume if I keep it in the fridge?

    Acv also works 😀 and if you make it directly in a jar it's even easier..

    Here, in Poland, I think the quality of mayo in shops is far better. Although it must be unfortunately from highly processed oil too, because of taste. Avocado oil is extremely expensive here ($1 for 1 oz.), so I can live with olive oil ($0,1 for 1
    oz.) in my mayo, despite the taste. Thank you, I'll try the recipe in the evening!

      Hope you liked it. If you can deal with the taste it is best.

    Thank you so much!! I am gonna try this as I love mayo but all store bought ones here have sugar and some have milk powder and starch and i need a low carb version for my diet. Please don’t pull this video until Ive had a chance to try it. Do you know if it works in a blender I don’t have a hand mixer machine

      You are welcome. I haven't tried it in a blender, but I would think that would work. I won't take this down, if it is up to me it will stay up forever. Let me know what you think after you try it.

      @@drekberg yes it can be easily done in a blender, food processor, or with immersion blender. Don’t process too long or the olive oil becomes bitter. Your method most likely avoids that.

    hi Dr Ekberg. new to your channel and loving it 🙂 I apologize if this has been answered before. Is light olive oil an option? It is much lighter in flavour than EVOO but my understanding it's just from olives that have been pressed more times ...or is there nastier processing that has been done to it?
    I'm watching as many of your videos as I can lately 🙂

    Hello.
    I tried the mayonnaise recipe and i don't know whether the avocado oil is different to yours. I live in Ireland and i purchased a bottle of avocado oil in the health shop. The mayo wasn't getting thick and it's inedible because it's soooo bitter! Where did i go wrong?

    Any suggestions as to what to do with the mayo once you have it? My mind wants to make sandwiches and sticks there. I’ve just been calling mayo a trigger food and avoiding it. Don’t say egg salad! LOL

    • @drekberg
      @drekberg  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      On hamburgers, use it as salad dressing. Dip grilled chicken wings in it.😀

    • @NJ-hn4et
      @NJ-hn4et 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah...mayonnaise is still a trigger, still reminds me of sandwich. Last night was ugly! Didn’t eat a bun, just too much chicken (I used to love grilled chicken sandwiches) Of course my blood sugars this morning weren’t up to par.Protein WAY spikes the insulin for me apparently. LOL
      Now, the thought makes me ill. Hmmmm, might be a good way to get rid of triggers... 🤔

    • @Crystalorchids
      @Crystalorchids 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mayo is mostly fat and in this recipe its healthy fat so it won't spike your insulin.

    • @krunkcleanup2949
      @krunkcleanup2949 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Add some Sriracha, Lime juice, Cilantro, and Garlic for a nice spicy dipping sauce. If you use an oil with a stronger taste to make the mayo, (like olive oil) the spice covers that up, or even compliments it.

    What about coconut oil, can we use it instead of avocado oil ?

    • @drekberg
      @drekberg  6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      You could try, but I don't think it would work very well. The mayonnaise, because of the egg, should be refrigerated and coconut oil becomes a solid when it is below room temperature.

    What can I use instead of avocado oil that would give it a good taste?

    • @drekberg
      @drekberg  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Walnut oil is another option. The problem is that most natural oils have a fairly strong taste. The bland neutral taste that we have become accustomed to have had all the flavor taken out by very harsh processing in the process rendering them toxic and void of nutrition.
