Then another on the the floor in front set to white. The flicker was added in Davinci Resolve using the flicker plug-in. The rest of the shots were just available lights. To make things as easy as possible I had to shoot in the right conditions that looked like the film. The gunshot scene need a place with the same type of buildings at the right distance. Shooting at midday harsh sun got me 75% of the way there because it's like the film. I've got a few review products to do but I'm I'm looking to do this again with something like Obi Wan. Ugh the Blackmagic 4k/6k groups... the ratio of internet "experts" and haters in that group is off the charts... your footage looks GREAT. That machine gun footage intercuts PERFECTLY. Cinematography in Zack Snyder films is always cool, like his films or not like you said.
That looked DEADLY!!! Massive massive great job. When I finish my last short of my series “The Package”. I will find a way to share it with you. TH-cam got on my nerves last year after their regular nonsense and I shut my channel down but I love making films so. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Snyder is one of very few directors and cinematographers that know how to creatively use a camera and a music score to tell a story without words. Some viewers simply do not see it because they are so use to seeing the bare-basics in MCU films. I cant think of one MCU film where i said, "wow, that's a great camera shot with an epic music score to complement it". But, i can say "Oh look, CGI with humans in it". The music scores sound like presets in Garageband. Am i wrong lol?
Mate , you are soooo right! MCU is a bit of a joke nowadays. The way Snyder puts things together is amazing....really engaging. I watched Justice League Snyder cut and really enjoyed it...so much more than the cinema release. I just kept thinking how much work went into it and it had so much feeling. The part where superman died was so sad. Great comment bro
Thanks mate, that one took so long but I think it's the most accurate. I should have spent a bit longer on the others but that gun scene took all my mental energy 😅
Bang! Straight in as soon as this dropped! Nice take on replicating a look - I think this is one of the most important things we can do (and push ourselves to do when we have spare time) - Find a way of recreating a look and see if we can match what the 'pros' do...and you did a damn good job!
Hey brother, thank you 🙌🏾. Yes....even if it's not perfect we can still get a lot out of replicating films. It is really challenging but will definitely grow your skills and knowledge.
Results quite similar at technical level. Only differences are mainly in coloring (shirts, background), then slot machine had different angle which you could had also made bit better(if not shooting solo), face scene light rource angles different, browsing cash scene is is only better lighted pro version. Generally good job.
Tbh there were way more inconsistencies than what you pointed out. There really would be no way to have it perfectly match unless a lot of things were done the same at the time of shooting but if you didn't have a side by side then a lot of these things wouldn't be noticed. I appreciate the comment so thank you. It was just a bit of fun for TH-cam 😁
Hey mate, for closed sets, a fog machine would help a lot to create mist in the shot to soften up the image, they also use a lot of difusion filters to get a softer look. Overall the outside gun shot was right on the money, and the enterires just miss that bit of haze. But also, think you could have used a longer focal lenght than 50mm to get more background blur (think 50mm is around 75mm on the sony crop), that was the only thing missing in some shots, the FX30 makes it too sharp. The vintage lenses help a lot with that as well.
Hey bro, yeah they definitely used fog and more tactics in post. I was using a speedbooster so the 50mm wouldn't have been off by much but yes, you have valid points. I think considering we just shot around our local town with zero money spent on set design, locations etc it wasn't too bad 😅
Awesome and thank you. I just finished filming a pilot TV show for sky using the fx30 for almost the whole show. This camera is amazing. Try and stick to lenses under f2.8 if possible as you'll get a much cleaner image.

Yeah I read and saw so many conflicting statements. Apparently they removed the Arri from the list. I'm not sure at this point so I thought it was best to say "apparently" in this video.
@@Altcine Yeah true, Greig Fraser made a statement that he was going to shot the "whole thing" on the FX3. But I think he was referring to the hand held shots, the fact that its IMAX and very CGI heavy made me doubt it.
@@damiendehorn6350 , I don't see why FX3 footage would have issues with any from of CGI/compositing considering +12-bit footage isn't really needed to get a passable blend.
