As a FX30 & A6700 owner. A6700 : Photo/video quick mode, mechanical shutter, +autofocus (but it's not that big difference, the FX30 autofocus is just good enough) FX30: Fan /No overheating problems , FS HDMI port, double memory card slots, the tile lights+ rig friendly user
I own both the FX30 and 6700. They make an amazing duo, with the FX30 kept for indoor/studio work and the 6700 out in the field. Thanks for the detailed comparison between these great cameras.
Be quiet Do we even none of you make anything interesting You all just talk about the numbers both cameras can do both things It doesn't even matter show me something interesting on your channel I still haven't seen anything nobody here makes art they just look at camera numbers
The main different between that two camera is just about reliability. Fx30 has internal fan so it can prevent heat better than 6700 and also has 2 card slot for backup. Without that different, it just the same camera
I"m happy with the A6700 and FX30. The A6700 is the perfect B Cam for the FX30. For my indie virtual production TV show Infinite Simulations I'm going for the Sirui Nightwalker cinema lenses with the 1.33x anamorphic lens using 17:1 DCI 4K to get 2.5:1 aspect ratio and output 5120x2160p (i.e. the LG Ultrawide Monitor 21:9 aspect ratio) to allow for some reframing, and at that point you just don't need that new AI chip so the FX30 is a good investment, but you know Sony is going to stick that AI chip in all their cameras and the price is going to drop on the older ones. It's the best time to go cinema lens manual focus. I really do wish you could hook up a USB hard drive to the camera. That would be worth the upgrade.
Great review! I have both cameras and I love both. One comment on overheating. I do interviews of tattoo artists. That includes taking a lot of b-roll of the artists working. While those clips are usually only around 10 seconds each, I will often be shooting these for more than an hour. I have experienced a couple of times, that the recording on the SD card slows down. I get a warning that the camera is ‘waiting to record.’ When I checked the SD card, it’s really hot. So I pause my recording to let it cool down. So while I don’t get any overheating message, it’s definitely still overheating. The FX30 is just such a workhorse and handles heat much better. Never had overheating issues.
I am looking to buy one of the 2 cameras. I decided at first fro A6700 but the overheating it might be a problem. I would be using the camera in similar situations, film shorter clips, but for longer time, The camera might be on, but not recording all the time. From your experience you had some signs of overheating, right? Thank you for sharing.
I think the FX30 is too "pro" looking for a casual user so you might get kicked out of venues more since you look like you're doing professional work. Just my thoughts. I love either camera. Thanks for the video!あざす

@RobiulIslam-fo2vg yes, but you don't always have the ability to control the light. Sony could have easily made an a6700c like Canon with R5c, by including a fan in a6700 or a mechanical shutter in FX30, but they want you to buy both.
