I Asked Marines What They Thought Of Other Branches

  • On the 247th birthday of the Marine Corps, one boot reservist Corporal decided to take his camera to the annual ball and have some fun :)
Hope you guys enjoyed the video, and nothing in this video was meant to be serious. This is all fun and games and we make fun of each other because we’ve earned the right. The more we pull on each other's strings, the tighter the bond between service members!
And besides, there’s no point in arguing over which branch is better or worse, because in the end at least we can all agree that we’re better than the coast guard 😂
Happy Birthday to all Marines out there, and Happy Veteran's day to all that have served and are serving!
My goal with these videos is to entertain, educate, and inform military members as well as people that are interested in joining or learning more about the military. If you want to stay up to date with future videos, please consider leaving a LIKE and SUBSCRIBE! :)

I am a retired Army Apache helicopter pilot. Some Marines were pinned down in an ambush in Afghanistan. I was coming off mission with minimum 30 mm and Hellfire missile ordnance. I had to attack the enemy at low level because of mountainous terrain. I was shot down. Those wonderful Marines left their cover, to provide us with fire support and assist in extracting myself and my gunner from the aircraft.

Trans person, never did his (biological male) job, only sat there doing his hair and makeup all day, got called out on it and of course pulled the "this is discrimination" card, well, base command got involved and snipped that quick. Haven't seen him around in a long time, so idk if he PCS'd or got out or what. Nobody cared for him because he only cared about the goofy ideology and not doing his job, but unfortunately that goofy ideology is becoming normalized. Happy Birthday to all of the former, present, and future Marines. I retired from the Air Force in 1995 as a Boom Operator having flown on KC-135’s and KC-10’s. I had two memorable experiences with the Marines while on active duty and after I retired. While on active duty, we had to do a fighter drag with 5 KC-135’s bringing 15 Marine F-4’s and their C-130 support plane from Guam back to Hawaii with a week layover on Wake Island. That was an adventure in that the poor island didn’t have enough beer and alcohol to sustain us the first day there. They ended up bringing alcohol from Hawaii to keep us entertained the whole week. Needless to say, the Marines generously entreated the Boom Operators during the entire week knowing that we had to get them across the ocean to Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay, which is now called Marine Corps Base Hawaii. I’ve refueled F-4’s, F-14’s, and F-18’s over the years, and they were always thankful for that Tanker being on station.
After I retired, my coworker and I had to pleasure of teaching Marines Network Administration for MARFORRES. The standing joke on day one was ‘what can a Navy sub rider and a retired Air Force Boom Operator teach Marine Corp personnel?’, and our reply was, ‘you tell us in two weeks’. During those two weeks, we taught them everything that they would ever need to know about computer network administration, to include being ready for their certification, and they learned to have respect for the other branches of the military. So yes, all branches of the military can work together.
It was an honor to work with the other branches of the military, (the Navy at Diego Garcia, the Marines Corps at Camp Pendleton, Miramar, and Iwakuni, and the Army in the country of Oman), during the 21 years that I served in the Air Force. Every branch deserves recognition and respect, and only those who have served can join in the cross-service banter that we do. For those thinking about joining, any branch that you serve in, do it proudly and with respect, as they all will make you a better person. Having served during Vietnam and Desert Shield/Storm, I’d do it all again if I had to. Very nice video!

PJs are no joke, old marines might know this but hard to say the younger marines would. In my experience, a marine isn't a marine until they got a solid combat deployment under their belt; until then, any opinions coming out of their mouths is just hot air. As I've told a family member, dont trash talk any other branch unless you have served or is serving, and only with a smile so we know it's all in camaderie banter. Every MOS is important, especially the rear echelon and logistics. No matter how high speed low drag a Service member is, no one is going far without the supply people delivering fuel, food, spare parts, ammo, uniforms, warm clothing, etc. No one will go far without the admin folks getting replacements, pay, and promotions and assignments going.

I’m currently doing paperwork to go in the Navy in a few months from now. I took a shot at it back in 2020 in the middle of the pandemic, and it broke me so I quit and I was separated (discharged).
Not really sure what I’m going to do, probably something mechanical or aircraft related, but right now I’ve been thinking about it long enough and have decided to just execute it and do it.
And despite what I’ve heard with the military crumbling right now and everything going to shit, I still think it’ll be if it me more than wandering aimlessly through life on the civilian side, at least right now.
For those who are in or recently got out:
what are your takes on being enlisted in the Navy rn? What to expect and what to keep in mind once I’m in the fleet?

Thanks to my Dad who passed he inspired me with with Gun Ho Attitude I copied it and brought it with me in the Army.

Every branch has its own uniqueness to it. We can't fight wars without each other and it all depends on what kind of job you're really wanting. If it's only about pride and following the family line then that's your reason for serving. Just remember when the Marines go to fight the Navy gets them there. When they do stupid shit on liberty like swimming in rip tides, the coast guard gets them out if they're lucky. Not knocking Marines at all been working for them for the last 15 years and met some great people. It's just a one sided question if you ask any Marine they will of course say the Corps are the best. If they don't then they don't deserve to be a Marine.

That question can only be asked of those that deploy in combat and see how each supports one another to accomplish the mission. Up to that point, opinions don't mean shit.

I was going to join the Marines, then I heard how hard their basic is and thought to myself that it sounds like it sucks a little too much. Joined the Army instead, almost eight years later E6 coming up on 7 around 2024, but I'll always have that part of me that wonders what my career would have been like if I wasn't a bitch and went to the Corps.

My father was a Marine in WWII and he told me to please not join the Marines because of his experience and I initially went to the Marines but he was not a good recruiter and then the Navy recruiter caught me and he saw I wasn’t happy and talked to me. I then joined the Navy months later and worked out with the Marines when I was on base and some on the carriers. Another great point if I was looking today it would be the Marine Corps I was blessed to work and work out with the Marines during my time. God bless all who serve and those of us who did serve.
