I am 6'2'' and it's a bit on the small size. If I have the seat all the way to the back, I have to put the (Fanatec) pedals all the way to the front. Talking of which: you cannot put it all the way to the front, because then I cannot switch from gas to brake without hitting the bar. Also, for that height I think I will have to flip the wheel mount backwards (to get the wheel closer to me and have the pointy side facing me). I will probably have to drill an extra hole in the seat mount and have to move it about 50mm more to the back. Flex: well, using it with a load cell pedal, I can see some flex when stepping on it hard. Tightening everything more helps with it to a certain degree. Yes, the handbrake/shifter kind of flexes, but that's not bad at all. I think you can mitigate the flex by tying the whole thing down (with the kind of pipe fastening U-bolts. That will work for me as I wanted to put this on a platform with wheels anyway. The flex (when pressing the load cell) comes from the middle of the bottom actually rising a bit, so if it's tied down at 6 points (or 5 , 2 front, 2 mid, 1 rear) that it will be very stable. My biggest grief is the seat. It is not uncomfortable to sit on (for your butt), but it is on the narrow size. I am thin but have broad shoulders and it feels a bit crammed. I think if you are over 6' or 182-ish cm, it is better to consider something more adjustable and mount a real car seat onto it. My next rig is going into that direction. Just my 2c ...

Nice review. I've never been overly satisfied with the cockpits I've seen. Either looked too flimsy or pricey. Eventually I just made one with some 1-1/2" ABS pipe, fittings, 1" pine panels (for wheel, shifter & pedal decks), U-bolts and 3/8" bolts to fit my Logitech G25 wheel and Rocker gaming seat. And I can adjust the Rocker seat and it stays in position. The wheel deck also serves as monitor deck for a 32" 2K monitor. I used to park it in front of the 42" HDTV. I use a Logitech X-540 5.1 speaker system for audio and the Rocker seat has audio in. Pleased with the result, the tubular frame looks cool and is solid, zero flex. Only tools needed are a electric drill, hand saw, wrench and ABS cement. I got all the materials at Home Depot and Canadian Tire.
A whole rig for less tan the cost of the rear seat frame and a seat from GT Omega for the Apex wheel stand. But it flexes more than a bodybuilder showing off. I think I'll pay $250 more and get a profile cockpit.
That's not true. I have the same with a csl dd 8nm and he probably mounted it not well. You can see other reviews and it doesn't move a centimeter the base. Always look more than one review. I recommend it

I own 3 OLED TV's and not had any burn in issues, size wise I'm pretty happy with the 55inch and works pretty well for a single monitor setup. Hope that helps.
I agree completely, but my problem was that the aluminum rigs are monstrous in appearance… my wife wouldn’t stand for it, but was open to something that does not look like “a monolith”. I therefore built my own that cost less than $100, seat included, that easily accommodates my Fanatec 8 Nm CSL DD.
@@FlankzHD If you Google racedepartment, threads, diy-wood-sim-rig-with-all-components-and-some-guideline-measurements.176994, you will get to the template that I used. I adjusted the width to fit my chair (see below). As I have a CSL DD, the only addition I made was to add two 2x4 support beams at 45 degrees towards the front (towards the pedal plate). As I already had one, my seat is an Ikea POANG chair, which sits snugly on the outside of the rig as in the video "Best Inexpensive DIY Sim Racing Rig with IKEA Chair" by JeffySpeed. I added two anchor points that I simply remove to adjust the distance forward/backward or to get out. Finally, I sanded it to a smooth finish, painted it all a semi-gloss black and added John Player Special insignia😀. It took me five days to complete (working 4-5 hours per day). I hope this helps!

I have a cheap desk on which I have my 8 nm CSL DD with their cheap desk clamp and it's not moving as much as this setup...I guess you can find ways to improve it's movement
Good video. I'm really struggling on deciding what to buy. It needs to be portable and moved in front of and away from the TV, but I also want something that's sturdy and doesn't make me regret not spending 100€ extra. Any suggestions?
How about the GT Lite Pro? It's light, has a comfy seat, and can fold away when not in use, but it's also rated for 13nm DD wheels (and some TH-cam vids testing this show that it can handle at least the entry level DD sets). I'm honestly debating between either that or this GTRacer. As much as I'm concerned about the flex and limiting myself in the future, I just want something a bit more rigid than the GT Lite Pro but I don't want to break the bank.
I read this comment before watching the video. Hilarious! (Great review, and good product for this segment). To be honest, I have the GT Lite already, and a Logitech G Pro. WIth the straps provided by NLR, the Lite gives me equal the amount of flex, if not better, than this rig, although this looks much better! Quality products from NLR! :-)
