hi everyone suffering from dizziness. i found that the most effective way to deal with it is "acceptance". for a few years, when i got dizzy, i said to myself "accept it. it's a part of me. accept it", then it gradually went away. it takes practices and i must say it doesn't always work instantly. but it sure works for me most of the time.

You got me all teared up because today I found out I'm not the only one. I had anxiety and panic attacks for years now with some periods of. First few months of 2021. started really bad and they were so stressful and in one moment I started to feel imbalanced all the time. That scared me off so much and it was like a vicious cycle with my panic attacks. Then I had 2 periods were it just went almost back to normal. At that last period one night I experienced vertigo laying on my back and I had the roughest night ever and I panicked for the next 2-3 days even though the next morning I've read that that's usually not something to worry about (like it's not deadly and it's probably bppv). I did epley and I was back to normal again but since I continued to have big anxiety (can't stop thinking about that night) my imbalance came back again which is awful, but I discovered it's connected to my anxiety and that I am not the only one. I hope it will be better again as it was and I will continue to work on myself.
P.S. You made me laugh because I also always challange myself when I get dizzy, I always do some squats and bend and then I'm like 'oh fuck u, this is not even doing anaything to me'. And even when I have bad episodes of dizziness I do my strenght or cardio, and even thought I feel less confident I manage to properly do my workouts :)

Anxiety lightheadedness. This was the symptom that was the hardest to deal with. I found that fighting it didn’t work. Recovery for me took time and perseverance. I kept a log and rated the intensity of my symptoms on a scale of 1-10. Initially I was aiming to lower intensity from a 6,7 or 8 to a 2,3 or 4. It’s unrealistic to get it to a zero. I also tried to still be productive. I got a lot of reassurance from Dr Claire Weeks book “Hope and Help for your Nerves”

I haven’t driven my car in months or been in a shop for 4 months because the dizziness has become too much to handle and I’m now indoors 24/7 scared to be around people. It’s such a horrible way to live, being scared all the time. My biggest fear is actually fainting because I fainted a lot when I was younger and the fear just stuck with me. I need to get a job soon now that my daughter is growing up but I can’t even drive any more. My life is a disaster. I refuse to take antidepressants because the ones I was on for 6 years ended up destroying me and the dizziness was never a symptom of my anxiety until I started taking them.

I have done all the MRI scan for my head and all, and tested my heart multiple times. Nothing seems to be the issue. But for years on and off. And right now. I am getting the same dizziness I am most afraid of.
Whem I walk I feel like my legs are losing themself and jelly, and when I stand.. I feel like I am on a ship PR boat swaying around. Worst part is even when I am sitted and lying down. I still feel myself falling off and swaying. And then I start to panic and have problem with even breathing properly and concentrating. I wish someone here could really help me as everynight I am so afraid to sleep cos I know I am going to wake up disappointed and getting this same dizziness again. My body feels weird, my head feels weird, my stomach feels weird. I just feel so alone and seem like no matter how much I try. No one will ever believe or understand. Hi Billy. First I´m watching your videos from time to time and I must say that I see great progress in your anxiety recovery (especially from your last videos). Question: To what extend do you think that personality type plays role in anxiety recovery? Because I think that main reason why e.g. Drew is out of anxiety state and other people with the same knowledge as him are still in anxiety state - it must be because of what type of person one is. People who are phlegmatic has much easier way out of this state. Because really I think that getting out of anxiety state depends on having NO METHOD, NO SYSTEM on how to cope with anxiety (including Claire Weekes method). It should´t be called method, floting and accepting means just living your life, not solving anxiety. If something cames to your mind - not solving and continue living. Not solving is a key - but if the person is able to not solving something so tempting as anxiety - it depends on personality type. So how to change personality type is the question :) have a nice eveneing, Paul.

My dizzyness started when I started doing exercises for 15 mins on empty stomach. I thought it's because of my low sugar, but then it got worse to the point of fainting and panic attack. So I stopped doing exercises but the dizziness continued. It grew worse and worse that I feel dizzy 24/7 and i only get relief by eating, I did my blood sugar check when I'm dizzy and it was normal. Now it's getting out of hands to control my dizzy spells, I have it almost every day. I have been to tons of docs and did tests, so far, no conclusion.

Are you feeling better? I think you might have. It's been 5 months for you. I'm going through the same thing. It seems the only thing that works is to challenge it by ignoring it and not hiding from it. We know very little of this condition, all we know is that anxiety with its plethora of psychogenic symptoms is unconscious and out of our conscious control. When it first happened I thought it was physical in nature and through my ignorance of its psychological nature it pushed itself in and snowballed into panic attacks. I went to ER and they told me I'm perfectly healthy, which is what you want to hear to get out of the negative thought loop. if you realize this the attacks will get rare and shorter and according to many people will disappear entirely.

I was skinny and fit but after overeating, I have gained around 10-11 kg in just over 3 months, now weight gain is slowing down. I always keep a chocolate bar with me to eat in case I feel dizzy, gives me confidance. Whenever, I go out, it gets really worse and I try to eat lot, especially sweets to convince myself that it's not low sugar. I'm really better now compared to old me with continuous dizzy spells and panic attacks. I just need to control my overeating habits and start light exercising. I was very active before but after this, I'm reluctant and in energy save mode as I feel I'll get low sugar if I exert myself. It makes you mentally handicap and unable to focus on work or go out independently. I found very few studies on the internet and yet not 100% convince that it's anxiety only.

@@hummingpylon check for vitamin d3 deficiency. Anxiety, dizziness, IBS is linked to it. Also, omega 3 fatty acid. If your blood sugar is normal, BP is normal then there's not much to worry.

@@sachinbhoi5727 My first reaction too was eating sweets to raise blood sugar but I'm confident that sweets merely cause a calming effect. I had many traumas in life and times of greater anxiety than I do now and I never experienced such symptoms, this tells me that I have reached a boiling point of inner tension where I can no longer vent it for it not to interfere with my daily life. Can I ask you a few questions? Do you consider yourself a perfectionist? Do you suffer with obsessive compulsive disorder? Do you have a strong sense of pride? Are you an introvert? What about impostor syndrome? Does opposite sex makes you feel anxious? Do you have/had muscle pain and back pain? Do you have exophoria? Are you a reader? Have you had prior thoughts of suicide?

@@hummingpylon thank you for your concern and explanations. I think we have been through similar circumstances. I get panic attack giving public speeches or even interview. I am very sensitive to balance, so I avoided any amusement park rides, etc. My dizziness started when I was in strict lockdown at my home for 2 years, I had very strong urge to go out, similar to you, and there was no way to vent the anxiety and frustration out. To top that all, had no social contacts. Also, I have irritable bowel syndrome which makes my anxiety worse.

Is your dizziness from anxiety made worse by reading iphone or books? It’s been 5 years. I’ve done so much work on my recovery and have had clear months. Only slight moments but nothing to scare me. But it’s all back. Dropping feeling. Swaying. I’ve had it all. I’ve always thought it was iphone use - computer sickness - cyber sickness. My dizziness is ten times worse with iphone use. Anyone help or get this? X

I know there's no physical reason for my dizziness because I'll do my balance exercises or get on a 1/2 bosu ball and no issues. If anything, my legs are more tired than anything, for example on a leg day at the gym. And I tried the Epley maneuver on a whim and it really helped me.
