He's simply high in the atmosphere, around 100,000 feet above us, when space is about 300,000 feet above us. The person who uploaded this video just put "space" in the title. The shuttle is being held up by a large weather balloon which is why it's floating, and he is wearing a helmet because the air is SUPER thin up there that he wouldn't be able to breathe without the helmet on. He's not high enough to burn up or float.
It has nothing to do with height here. It's not "he's not high enough to burn up". It is "he's not going fast enough to burn up". Things like the shuttle go through re-entry effects not because of how high they are, but because of how fast they are going - being that they have been orbiting the Earth - which requires a tremendous velocity. Something just dropping from a static location isn't ever going to be going fast enough to burn up.

Q: Where's the sun? A: the sun was to the right behind the camera, you can see the light reflection on the craft indicating where the sun is. Q: That is fake the earth is flat. A: no.. not only is it mathematically proven but he have thousands of satellites orbiting the earth giving you internet and GPS, if you know anything about oribital mechanics you know that an orbit is when you are going so fast that as you fall you miss the earth, orbits are IMPOSSIBLE in a flat earth. This picture also SHOWS the curvature of the earth. You can't see the whole earth because it's SO DAMN BIG but you can see the curve. If the earth was flat you'd be able to see Tokyo from LA, but you can't because the horizon is caused by the curve of the earth. Please people, use common sense and take an initiative to educate yourself.

Burning up in the atmosphere is purely due to the speed of the object. Spacecraft returning from orbit are traveling at 17,500 mph and at that speed, the friction generated will burn up objects not protected by a heat shield. Jumping from a somewhat stationary balloon will only produce a falling speed of around 800 mph, which is not fast enough to produce the amount of friction needed to burn up an object.

You see, if he was close to space he would need a heat shield kkkk otherwise he could burn up on re-entry, so he wasn't even close to space, he was closer to Earth than space.

1.Look at the video , the atmosphere is 100km , this guy is at 39km (low) he is in Stratosphere only the second layer not in SPACE. my god people;
2. He is way too slow to burn up he had 1342,8 km/h ( ~834 mph)(1,25 mach) when the shuttle enters atmosphere it enters at speeds far greater than that (~17,500 mph)(~Mach 25)

Burning up in the atmosphere is purely due to the speed of the object. Spacecraft returning from orbit are traveling at 17,500 mph and at that speed, the friction generated will burn up objects not protected by a heat shield. Jumping from a somewhat stationary balloon will only produce a falling speed of around 800 mph, which is not fast enough to produce the amount of friction needed to burn up an object.

It was very important what Mr. Baumgartner did, he proved Astronauts could eventually if necessary escape the vehicle and parachuted at altitudes around 150 000 feet and free fall at sped close to sound barrier ! Extraordinary Brave guy :)
