      @@StagnantMizu It's not too hard. The hardest part is just learning where the controls are. They tend to drop to the edges of the screen. For you, try moving your mouse to the bottom left corner, then on the bar that pops out from the left, choose the second from the top. That is date and time. Set the time to when at night you want to observe, then you can change the days and months. There you go!

      Rewatchung it multiple times, your brain will mark sime important points (to form conndcfions), and eventide you go through those points, information that was earlier became hazy will get some foundation.

      Rngnd1314 we see the same ole sky after all this time because space is fucking massive. We have moved relative to the stars in the sky, but they’re so far away that in a human lifetime you wouldn’t be able to notice the change. Not to mention that the closest stars which are also the brightest are orbiting the centre of the Milky Way the same as we are and so have the same inertial frame of reference, thus do not appear to move relative to us.

    I really want to make a "Ten Levels of Calendar Math Complexity" video, because there's a ton of fascinating stuff this video leaves out.
    The solar year is a different length depending on which point in Earth's rotation you choose to measure from, because seasons are slightly different lengths (up to about an hour difference!) due to Earth's elliptical orbit, spreading precession out unevenly between the seasons.
    While the amount of time it takes the Earth to orbit the Sun is mostly constant, the length of a mean solar day changes over time, so the number of days per year isn't constant; this means that the Gregorian calendar will actually drift much quicker then a simple calculation would suggest, and in fact no fixed leap year rule will last more then about 10,000 years.
    There's some really interesting math behind choices of leap cycles, relating to different ways of approximating numbers as fractions.
    Also, months and all of their complexities. It's fun.

      About Vsauce's knowledge of helical orbit : Search on TH-cam for a playlist by Scientific American called "Our place in the solar sytem - TH-cam Space Lab". In 2011, thanks to mainstream science knowledge, the solar system according to Michael Stevens of Vsauce in that playlist, was like the one Nat Geo shows in the 2nd video in it at 0:54 - ellipses and yellow sun :-) Next search for a video of Vsauce called "What if the sun disappeared" of 2013 and at 1:49 you see ellipses and yellow sun. LOL. Same story in his 2014 video, "What is the earth worth ?" at 4:07. Fortunately, in 2016, he seems to have acquired better knowledge and shows helical orbit in the video called "How Earth Moves". I won't be surprised if the viral video of music dj Sadhu's helical orbits played any part in it, bcos in 2015, Sadhu’s corrected part-2 video was released and astrophysicist Rhys Taylor gave it more credibility. Timelines tell an interesting story. Anyway, it is a good development.

      Hey, check to see if that book goes into the lack of pressure in "space" and how that affects the melting/boiling point of materials. A pressure cooker increases the pressure to increase the boiling point of water - even a simple vacuum will cause water to boil at 70° F. Therefore, *everything* will melt/boil in the pure vacuum of "space."
      The 2nd Law of Thermodynamics states that a high pressure system cannot exist next to a low pressure system without a physical barrier. The instant that barrier is removed, the gas in the high pressure system will move to fill the low pressure system until the system is balanced.
      Since we know this is a proven fact, how then can we have a high pressure atmosphere next to an infinite vacuum without a barrier?
      Do not be fooled by their glittering presentation. Dig into the details to see where their model fails .. and, trust me, it fails all over the place. These are just two very obvious fails.

    • @danielgroiss
      @danielgroiss ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@brianbowman7348 Water will boil in the vacuum of space, as it does in a vacuum in a lab on Earth. But "everything" is not water, rocks and metals take much more energy to boil, a vacuum is not enough.
      Pressure at sea level is higher than on a mountain, no barrier is needed. The pressure gradient goes on. You oversimplify and your premises are wrong. There is no "high pressure atmosphere next to an infinite vacuum", there is a very low pressure atmosphere next to a slightly lower pressure atmosphere. The weight of the gasses explain that very well. The same occurs in a pool, there is low pressure at the surface and high pressure at the bottom, your eardrums start to hurt. No barrier is needed for a vertical pressure gradient.
      Don´t fool yourself, before recommending others not to be fooled.

      There are many, *MANY* demonstrations of this *FACT* of physics.
      Yes, pressure *IN A CONTAINER* has a gradient, exactly like water - also contained by the land around it: greater depth, greater pressure. Air acts like water in nearly all cases, particularly motion.
      Show me any experiment which proves you can have a pressure differential without a container. And, *NO*, you can't our atmosphere unless you can *PROVE* there is no container. On the contrary, atmospheric pressure *PROVES* that earth is contained by the firmament.

      @Daniel Vela We know it's not a disc because the apparent motion of the sun, moon and stars makes no sense. Because we can take a telescope and look at the moons of Jupiter (first observed in 1610 - no NASA back then). Because you can take latitude and longitude coordinates for any place on earth and there would be no question as to which position you were referring to. The distance between two degrees of latitude increases as you get to the equator and decreases as you move away. Easily verifiable by anyone with rudientary tools. And finally (for this list anyway) because the area of daylight over the earth which changes from day to day and season to season is explained only by the globe model. The fact that the FE model con't come close to explaining any of this is why no-one with a middle-school understanding of science or better belkieves in a flat earth.

    • @Stick3x
      @Stick3x 4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @Daniel Vela Only problem is you have never been to Antarctica and you never will. There are ACTUAL photos of the ice wall though compared to the CGI cartoons NASA is always pushing out their as reality.

      +Jamie Musso If the Earth is spinning at 1000+mph East to West, why don't airline companies save money on Western flights by flying East, I mean your destination is coming at you 1000+mph? Why not just fly straight up, the Earth is spinning remember, and have your destination come to you? Ok let's say that's to crazy. And when flying in an airplane East wouldn't an Airplane have to catch up to the speed of the Earth just to leave its current area? A Boeing 777 (commercial airliner) has a top speed of 600 mph, you always be behind your destination flying East.
