Sounds like I need a new stove
You literally put a glass top stove on the cover and proceeded to say nothing about them. Thanks for the waste of time. Needed that.

Wasn't the smooth top radiant element and not the conventional coil element the glass top then the rest is the same

My Ge Range one of the element I use the surface light doesn't come on ,but the rest of element I used The surface light come on .
I replaced the 2500 w right side element on a Ceramic Hot Surface from Whirlpool. But it does not heat although current flows through all the points of contact. I switched the element with the left side old working element and even this does not work on the right side. The switch works fine. Need your expert advise on the matter please, if you could.
?? so what about getting at and repairing the kind that you cannot take out in your hand?! you mentioned them but did not discuss at all!
I own a Wirlpool Gold range GERC4110PS1 that the warmer coil, the back small right coil and the front big coil doesn’t work at all. The two coils on the left still work fine. Is there a place I should look first to find the problem? Strange that half the surface (plus the warmer element) stopped working at the same time.
That dinging sounds making me hungry. My fries are done.
I left the oven and eyes on for a hour to warm my house came back to nothing working...I was in a panic and didn't check the circuit breaker and that's the problem

my element broke causing a wire short - is there a fuse i need to replace or do you think i just damaged the switch for that one element
had a question maybe you could help with. I have a GE Electric range and the front right dual burner will not turn on at all . . .and also the warning hot surface light stays on all the time as well even when surface is cold. . . .with the range plugged in and the knob turned on i take a multimeter and go between the leads on the element and I DO NOT HAVE 240V at the element where as when the other 3 burners are on i have 240v between the terminals on the element. DO you think the element is bad or the limiter switch is bad.

how do you check the whole glass top stove if its not working
I have the same problem, I'm 99% sure you can lift up the whole glass top. People, remember to cut the power through your fuse box!

My neighbor has a Frigidaire smooth top oven. Both the top burners and the oven stopped working. The clock works but no power to any of the elements. Is there a relay of some sort in these or what could it be? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Okay, but what about the entire surface element not working?
My radiant dual element has two probes. One is not depicted in this video. Test it for continuity too. Mine failed and caused the burner to not heat even though it tested perfect for continuity in the coils and main probe.

I did all this but when I swapped one of the eyes it started overheating and smoking, any help?
Even at the highest setting, mine doesn't get that hot. Or at least stay that hot after a minute. Really annoying, good takes forever to cook.

I have a new Frigidaire that the burners nor oven will heat
my burners on my smooth top stove are working randomly. one side wont work, then the other side wont, then all of a sudden both sides will work...any idea what it could be? ty
UPDATE: my power cord wasnt fully inserted into the outlet. its the reason the stove was acting funny. its fine now that i pushed the plug all the way in

I disconnected my GE JCAP760 range for cleaning behind the range, and when I reconnected, the surface and the oven stop working. The light inside works, clock works, outlet works, but when I switch on, not the cooktops , or the oven are not working. Although the hot surface light is on. I have checked the plug it is OK. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Find the wire, get corresponding terminal for wire size, cut and strip wire, attach new connector and crimp !:)

@@ericpanda mine was electric too, they make tools to determine the wire size/gauge. Once you find the size of the wire just match that with the right size/ style of connector and you are good to go
@@ericpanda also, no question is a dumb question, I bought the terminals and crimping tool at Lowe’s . Just make sure when you cut and strip the wire you don’t leave the wire very exposed once the terminal Is in place and the crimp has been made

"they make tools to determine the wire size/gauge" do you mean i can buy a tool from local hardware store to determine the wire size? or do you recommend i just go ahead to open the back of the stove and then head to homedepot/lowes to buy a connector that looks like a fit based on what i saw?

I have an element that has outside and inside. The outside works but the inside part doesn’t. Do I need to replace the whole element?

Yes you have to replace whole element
From one day to the next, both elements on the left side of our glass top stove stopped working, won't turn on, no issues with either before. Clock/oven control pad, both elements on the right side and the oven all work. Are there fuses inside the stove to check?

The clock is in the Sabbath mode see use & care manual for info on clearing the setting.
My element to a GE glass top is a "textbook" burnout.
My burning is working but it is overheating .Even on low setting it burns the food .What could be the readons?

Colin ,I didn’t get the answer but I found the fault .If your burner is overheating even on low setting then change its switch .Burner is not bad but the switch is bad .
If stove top element is low or no power.. Infinite switch needs replaced
If oven overheats fast, replace tstat that runs from under the stovetop to the inside the oven

Wow great job, I think I have a bad surface element switch on my 2 year old Samsung electric range. #Samsung what a joke!
It's ridiculous how poorly things are constructed. I've had my whirlpool stove a little over a year and one of the ranges already doesn't work! Build things in the US, Germany or Japan!
