Already saved me money just from one repair, I've subbed, and bought parts for my washer. Now I'm going to fix this oven, with your help. Thanks Soooooo much. Lifesaver.
This was exactly what I needed to help replace glass top. I originally watched another video and it didn't show how the burners were connected to the top. Thanks!
I've never seen a repairman dress so nicely ! He must be one of the Whirlpool upper mgt. executives who makes TH-cam videos on his day off for extra cash. When I do it, my clothes look like the inside of a worn oven from a military base kitchen afterwards. Anyway, thanks for the nice video, and the music not drowning out the vocal.
Thanks for the video! One my my elements just went out on my Whirlpool and I had no idea how to replace it. You saved me a couple hundred bucks not having to call in a repairman.
Couldn't have asked for a better instructional video. Clear, concise, easy to follow, and best of all...accurate. I just saved a ton of money and learned a valuable skill - thank you!
I have a stove similar the one in this video and it is the biggest burner that isn't working. It won't heat up. I replaced the switch and also replaced the burner and am still having the same problem. The burner won't heat up. Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be? Edit: 2:58 Thank you J-E-S-U-S! Thank you J-E-S-U-S! for the wiring diagram! This saved me having to pay to call, _the guy_ to come over and fix it!
Hi Steve, I have an older Whirlpool stove and recently one of the burners stopped working so I thought it must be that a fuse has been blown. I would try to change the fuse but I can't find any kind of fuse panel on the stove. I tried lifting the top but that doesn't work. I tried to find a manual online but I couldn't find a manual for my model. My model is WLE30300, TYPE 30s. Luckily, 3 out of the 4 burners are still working. Do you have any idea where the fuses are located and how I could gain access to them? I don't have any kind of special equipment to test a fuse but I do have needle nose pliers and a screwdriver. Hope you can help me. CC
how do i know if its for sure the burner coils, or the switch on the back behind the panel? I've watched 4 videos and my issue is my burners get stuck on high
2:00 Problem here is, there are no wire harnesses to disconnect. The wires go straight to the burners. The brackets that hold the burners in place go from front to back just like in your video with the screw that holds the mounting bracket in place being at the back of the stove top. This makes it difficult if not impossible to remove the bracket. If the brackets went from left to right, this would make it much more user friendly. I am going to continue on and try to do this, but it would be nice to be able to remove the whole top like you do in the video.
I'm waiting for parts, but I can see I have the same problem. I was hoping it disconnects from behind after I take back cover off. Otherwise it's going to be interesting.
@@GermanShepherd1983 I didn't think of taking the back covert off like you suggest. I hope taking the back cover off solves your problem. If that's not the case, this is what I did to get the job done. You'll need: A length of wood about two feet. A sheet of cardboard, plastic, or a paint drop cloth. A Phillips head short stubby screwdriver. A flashlight and or headlamp. A camera. And a generous portion of patients. 1. Use the length of wood to prop up the stove top like the hood on a car engine. 2. Next place the large protective sheet of plastic or cardboard over the fiberglass insulation to protect the insulation from getting damaged and also to keep you from getting the insulation on your clothes and skin. 3. Next use the Phillips head short stubby screwdriver to take out the back screw that holds the brackets in place. This is where that plastic or cardboard covering comes into play as well as that generous portion of patients. As an added bonus, if you happen to drop the tiny screw it will fall on top of the covering for easy recovery. 4. Once the screw is out and safely stored where you can find it later, carefully remove the bracket and burners, taking note of their placement and wiring. This is where you'll need the camera. Take plenty of photos at different angles of everything before you move, change, or disconnect anything. Getting that tiny screw back in place is a real pain. I hope this helps. Good luck.
My dual range burner is a Whirlpool part. My Jenn Air range burner has an epic sensor in it. I can’t find any information on this sensor and it’s purpose. The burner will not come on, at all. Both the switch and burner have been replaced. Still not working. The only part that hasn’t been replaced is this epic sensor. I can’t find this part anywhere, can’t get through to Jenn air to get help. What is this epic sensor. The instructions for the new burner mentions it but there wasn’t a place to accommodate this sensor on the burner. I paid Sears $89 to tell me that they don’t know or can’t fix it.
How come you didn't address the fact that the positioning of the wire connectors that come with new elements often vary from the original, and that you have to follow the wiring nomenclature (1a,2a,2b,1b) when reconnecting?

Great video. Step by step instruction clear and easy to follow. Thank you Steve!
Excellent video. I appreciate the verbal descriptions of the various fine details.

Where did you get the element? Is it a home depot part?
@@cavazosrosendo7796 The element can be purchased on the Whirlpool website.
It's not cheap. I paid $280.00 with tax and shipping.
I like the _soothing music_ in the background, it helps to destress me.
I also like the clear closeups so I can see what you are doing.
Great video. Nice clear camera work, clear step by step instructions. Thanks
Thanks you for sharing Steve

Steve!!! I am so sad there was no close up of the back hinges (?) being positioned!! How the heck do I do this?
Thanks a lot

What if i got it wet cleaning it from.the outside. Do i need to replace the element or the wire?
what is the best website to order the range part

Switch the wires at the switch to a different element. That's what I've done, then you'll know
How do think a repair man would charge me to replace two elements on a similar stove? Ty for a reply

My oven don’t work do you come to the house?
I expected it to be so much more complicated

Altho the vid is very informative, I wondered the same.
