Wayne, I saw you when you did this the VERY FIRST TIME on WMAQ Chicago, and you know how long ago that was. I lost my copy of the recipe over the course of time, and moves, and now I'm living in Texas. But fortunately, I was able to find it just by Googling Wayne's Microwave Peanut Brittle! And it's still as delicious was the very first time I tried it! Thank you so much!
Just made it but, I used cashews instead. It was my first time make brittle ,my goodness it turned out so yummy! Thank you for sharing and please thank your aunt for allowing you to share her recipe.
I made it and it turned out great. The one thing I learned was to warm the oiled sheet pan in the oven and you will have more time to spread the mixture.
I haven't tried this yet but it's surely getting tested soon. This is a marvelously simple recipe and at least from watching it seems fool proof. Thanks for sharing and bestwishes for lots of thumbs up!
Thanks Wayne! Lovely and charming presentation. I love making traditions for my children. Our household has four generations and although I am 82, I still love to surprise my babies ( the oldest is 62) with something delicious and wonderful for the holidays. Peace and love from Hawaii.
This is the easiest, most delicious peanut brittle I've ever eaten. I will never go through the ordeal of cooking it again! Thank you so much for sharing. God bless you!
Babe I just made this an hour ago. Darling it turned out very good and very delicious. Thank you very very much and I don't have to buy it anymore. Again thanks to you (smile). You have a good day and a bless one (smile). 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
I’m a whole year late seeing this post at 12 am EST and yet I decided to make my way out of my bed and into my kitchen to put together my 1st ever batch of peanut brittle!!!!! And I am NOT going back to bed until it cools and I’m able to break it up and taste it🤣🤣! I am super excited 😊 😊😊. Thank you so much for sharing this simple recipe ❤️
This is my 2nd year making this recipe for brittle. I had to cut a little time off because my cashews were wanting to scorch but this is a really good recipe. Thank you for posting it.
Thank you so much for the fond memory and the recipe. I love this. I lost my baby brother a few years ago. He was a peanut brittle "NUT"lol. He could eat all the contents of the box before anyone else could get one piece. I can't wait to make this peanut brittle and share it with his wife, 4 grown children and his twin sister. I think I will share it with them on June 14th which is his Born Date. Be blessed.
Thank you very much Mr. Johnson! I used to make this stuff in the late 70s in my Amana Radar Range. Lost the cookbook to time and ex wives. Had forgotten about making it til now. Again…..big thanks, well done and what a great voice.
Just made this and it turned out great!! You are absolutely right about how you have to be on the ball with your timing adding all the ingredients. Thank you for this quick recipe!!😀🙌🏽
I Just Came Across Your Page. I Love Your Easy and Simple Version for Peanut Brittle. Thank You So Much for Sharing the Microwave Version. I Pray All is Well with You and Your Family. God Bless You. 🙏🙌🥰
This recipe sounds perfect for me. I love Peanut Brittle but I can no longer stand for a long time at the stove stirring anything. I have a compression fracture in my back that prohibits me from doing many things in the kitchen I would like to still be able to do. This is one of those. THANK YOU so very much. You have allowed me to make one of my favorite candies again, and I could not be more pleased. I will be searching out more of your videos. :)
Thank you for this fabulous recipe! I just made this and along with the peanuts I added cashews, pecans, and Almonds. Not only is your recipe fast, but it is also delicious! I just shared it with all of my sisters!
I have also been making this on the stove top...but not anymore! This is an awesome recipe and your instructions are great!!! I made the recipes with cashews...and every one LOVES it. Thx u for sharing. Looking forward to making your banana pudding...
I use a quart Pyrex measuring cup with a handle and w wooden spoon (both can be used in the microwave). I just leave the wooden spoon in the Pyrex measuring cup while cooking.
Thank you for sharing. I have made your peanut brittle and it turns out great every time. But I have a question if I wanted to make a double batch. How much more time do I add to the cooking process?
I wouldn't advise doing a double batch. The timing doesn't translate well and the consistency isn't right. It's better to just make two or the original size.
I just made your recipe an hour ago...perfect! Only thing I changed was I used cashews, pecans, almonds and hazel nuts ( had a nut mix from sams club). Perfect recipe. Earlier today I did my 1st batch from another youtube video and it burnt. So I tried yours. Perfect. Thank you!
Thank you, Nancy. I wish I was good at all the variations of microwaves. But, I haven't tested the recipe in a 900 watts. I think it will take a bit longer...but it may have to be a bit of experimentation on your part to get the optimal time.
Wayne, your Aunt's recipe is great, and easier to do than on the stove top. I added a little extra touch of my own with an ever so slight dusting of sea salt. Ooh, magnifique.
I want to try your recipe and add jalapeno , diced so small they look like Chia seeds. Thanks for sharing your recipe or should I say auntie 's recepi.😂👍
Been making this recipe for 20 years, and it's the best....... Used to do it on the stovetop before I tried this recipe that was included in my microwave cookbook, and I couldn't believe how much easier it was in the microwave. Your presentation was very well done, and I've subscribed. Looking forward to listening to more of your videos. Thank you!
I just made this and it is GREAT! Your presentation was very good too. I will be making again this is so much easier than making on the stove top and taste better too.
Very first time making peanut brittle. Of course I went straight to Pinterest to see what I could find. Well I looked, I found, I made!! Flop!! Followed the recipe and ended up with a pretty good tasting CHEWY peanut brittle!! Came to TH-cam, found you, your MICROWAVE recipe and BAM!! I made perfect, great tasting peanut brittle!!! Thank you so so much!! This will be my new Christmas tradition!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you sir!! ❤️❤️❤️
Wow, thank you so much. I just made a batch in a cast iron pan and somehow botched it, think I didn't let it cook long enough. Will def try your version. Hug your aunt for me.
It's official. I will never make Peanut Brittle on the stove ever again. This was so easy and very tasty. Th3 only problem, lol, I have to figure out how to wash the dish. Thank you for the recipe.
This was so easy to do! Thank you for sharing this recipe. It was fun and easy. I'm just waiting for it to cool off now. I hope my husband enjoys it. He loves peanut brittle. Normally, I buy it from the store...hopefully never again. Thank you.
Be REALLY SURE about the Microwave Strength or Wattage and the time. I believe this is the right time. If you get it too hot it will ruin. Not hot enough and it will edible but soft. Overall it is extremely easy to make this way. Thanks Friend.
@@mercyhall5437 Sugar, water, and white Karo Syrup. Of course add peanuts and at the end baking soda. I'm sorry , I should count that as 5 ingredients.
Do you mean the canola oil spray? You can use other oil sprays (but olive oil would leave a bit of an aftertaste that wouldn't compliment the flavor). If you mean the "corn syrup" you can't replace that with something else...that and the sugar reach a high temperature and that is a critical part of the process.
So I used your recipe and it turned out great! Me being me said hey I will make a double batch. Well it turned out like peanut taffy, tasted good but chewy not brittle. Well heck if I have chewy peanuts why not make peanut chews so I dipped the cut squares into melted chocolate and voila awesome chocolate covered peanut chews. See I didn't actually screw up I intended that all along. Yeah sure that's it. Give it a try they were really good.
I love your recipe, but what is the wattage of your microwave oven? I wasn't successful in making it the first time on the stove top, so I'm going to try the microwave method.
I'm not positive, but I did find this online: In the UK golden syrup is the closest substitute and is a refined sugar syrup made from sugar cane. It is more viscous than corn syrup and it can be used as a substitute for corn syrup in most recipes. However if a large quantity of the syrup is used, such as for a pecan pie, you may find that the filling is a little more chewy when made with golden syrup.
Yes! I've never tried a double batch. The sugar has to reach a certain temp and with a double batch it probably takes longer (but I'm not sure wha that timing would be).
Heeeyyyyy!!!!! I just tried it the exact way you said to do it and it came out amazing 👍. Thanks for the video and I now have an easy dessert to make for family get together or as a gift.

Sees candy makes the best ever peanut brittle. Somehow I taste the butter more. The butter gives it so much flavor.

Great suggestion! Thanks, Peter!

Would roasted salted peanuts work as well?
Yes. I’ve only used salted. Unsalted is good, though, I guess, if you’re trying to watch your salt intake. 🙂
Yes, definitely works with salted!
I substituted sorghum molasses for light corn syrup 😋
