    Awesome recipe. Thanks! Question: can you scale up and double the batch? Obviously, you'd need a large enough bowl to hold all the ingredients, but I'm just wondering if a double batch affects the cook time. Have you experimented with this? Again, thanks for sharing your tasty talent!

    • @TheHenstersKitchen
      @TheHenstersKitchen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you so much! I have scaled up and down. Cook time is more affected when scaling up. To double the bath I cook for 4 minutes during the first cook time, 3 minutes the second, and then one minute at a time until I reach that perfect light brown color.

    microwave time depends on the watts of your microwave... mine is only 700 so takes 5 minutes then 6 minutes or it comes out gummy

    Should I roast the peanuts first? I add a tablespoon of jalapeno powder to the batch for a little heat. 😊

    Remember, this is basically sugar napalm. Work very carefully, and don't let it contact any skin.

    Why the baking soda?

    • @TheHenstersKitchen
      @TheHenstersKitchen  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It allows the reaction that makes the brittle foamy and gives the texture that's necessary for a good brittle.

      Sounds like my microwave wattage may be a little bit more powerful. Try increasing your cook time and see if that doesn’t make the difference for you.
