The end of the conversation is certainly true. It's honestly sad. Recent news around Rob shows him being fairly self destructive. Might not be related, but it looks like the lie is eating at him and deep down he knows that he would have rather stayed in good standing with the community and still made great money speaking about aspects of his already great career.

I don't ever remember Rob saying he was the only one in the room. Every story I've heard starts with point man entering the room and tackling 2 women who were potentially suicide bombers. Rob also mentions that the point man shot into the room before he entered. I'm not trying to be a fan boy or anything, just stating what is on the record.
I agree with what you just said 1000 percent. Rob never once claimed that he was the (only operator) in the room. I’m kinda getting bad vibes with what this guy is saying. Also, why is he so adamant about attacking Rob ONeil? Something is fishy about this and I believe this is nothing more than clout chasing and view seeking at the sake of a really bad ass Navy SEAL Operator, and a member of the most prestigious Navy SEAL team, SEAL Team 6 aka DEVGRU (Development Group). SEAL team 6 is as close to DELTA FORCE team as any could ever find within our amazing US Military.

Saying he was the 3rd shot instead of first is hardly the same, and I would bet money if Rob didn't fire the first shot, the guy that did must have decided to give Rob the credit because he didn't want it but thought the story should be told.
I also think if Rob told the exact same story but said he shot 2 seconds after someone else shot Bin Laden, it would be the exact same money and fame as now

I don’t think O'Neil shot OBL after listeni g to his multiple stories on different outlets. Eash time the story gets a little more sensationalized...Red is the shooter in my opinion. HOWEVER, i wonder why the other team guys feed into his story often in an open forum. Clearly, the truth is known inside the teams. But he gets the glory, money, and fame... is it because he's such a good BSer? I doubt Rob is sharing the wealth....kudos to Red for his silence.
this all seems a little petty... The SEALS got the mission, so let's shit all over the SEALS. The problem I have with all of this is how Rob O'Neil worked his ass off earning the title, serving on the SEAL teams and achieving the level of success in that world to be selected to the premier SEAL team. He was there, he shot Bin Laden (security shot or not), possibly the fatal shot. He came home left the Navy and had a book approved by the NAVY that he has made "millions" on. Good for him. I think stolen valor is a little bit of stretch, if I were walking around saying it, sure. A guy who was there, did shoot him, and wrote a book approved by NAVY is not stealing valor.

What are the chances that they wanted someone to tell this story to drive recruitment through the roof? Choosing him, knowing that it's false, but to tell this story because he was the closest to retiring anyway? Like they needed a non active duty seal that was there, to be the face of this PR campaign...but everyone inside knows it's total bullshit. Maybe that's why the people who were there with him aren't calling out his obvious lies....just a thought

I was an army reservist with zero deployments and I could smell Rob’s bs a mile away. He did get me to believe him in the Shawn Ryan interview but then Brent broke everything down and now I’m back to smelling the bs.

Everything eventually comes out in the wash. Just like the movie “Catch me if you can “ which was supposedly the life of Frank Abagnale which all turned out to be a complete lie. He never did any of the things the movie depicted. About a year or two ago it all came out that his book he wrote was a total lie. A investigative reporter dug into his story and found that when he was claiming to do all these incredible scams of being a pilot,doctor and lawyer he was in prison during those times and it wasn’t for cashing millions of dollars worth of checks while he pretended to be a pilot. There is a video on TH-cam of a guy who has a TH-cam channel about con artists who waited for Frank to finish some bs speech he was giving in Vegas and confronted him about his lies and Frank just basically took off he couldn’t even talk to the guy. I think that eventually the truth about Rob is going to come out but Rob will never fess up to it. He is a arrogant prick. But we also don’t know if the Navy had him do this as sort of a promotional thing for people to become SEALS.

I don't know any facts since I am just regular American civilian but two people have mentioned Red as the point man and first person to shoot Osama Bin Ladin

Just why is it that so many of these "seal guys" have become glory hounds??? I just don't get it! So many of the former seal guys leave the military and start a youtube channel and try to create a personna that just isn't real. If you go back and look at pictures of them near the end of their military service you'll see how lean and slim they were, and many didn't even have tattoos. NOW suddenly they're all jacked and thick and muscular with lots of tattoos. None of that crap is real, and it's not how they were while they were still serving. They made selection and they were good enough, so why now try to create an image that just isn't real? It just makes me roll my eyes and get turned off completely to their channels cause I know it's not real.

Tier 1. Mostly Intel and Recon work. Very skilled operators that work singleton and in small teams as opposed to assulters..JSOCs Spies. .Some Humint, Sigint, setting up safe houses, transportation, planting cameras, sensors, transporting large sums of cash in very dangerous locations. Special kinda dudes to work deep down range with little support and zero recognition. Read Killer Elite and there are a few podcasts floating around with ISA dudes.Not better or worse than Delta or 6, but different Job..

Watch the podcast linked it does have few to start you up but the more you investigate specially comparing Rob Oneills story with other accounts they diverge way too much to be simple errors.

It’s a budget thing!
"Regular" SEALs are also classified as tier 2, only DEVGRU/SEAL Team 6 are tier 1. It's as much as a unit size/budget thing as it is any measure of "eliteness" though; there's thousands of active Green Berets, SEALs, and Raiders at any time, but I'd guess there's probably little more than 100-200 active members of Delta or DEVGRU at a time.
