    From my understanding, there's no drill protection on the core itself because:
    You already have to drill through both the outer square sleeve and of the steel shutter, and the design of the shutter doesn't leave too much place for protection anti drill rods

    Would you be able to do a video of how spool / serrated / etc. pins work? As in something like a cut-away of how they bind differently when you're picking and why locks manufacturers would choose one over another?

    • @k5sss
      @k5sss ปีที่แล้ว

      Both allow the cylinder to rotate into a false set, forcing counter-rotation to move them into the true set.
      Serrated has lots of shallow false sets; spool has one deep false set. Best would arguably be mixing some of each to confuse pickers, but that would increase mfg cost and complexity (the reason cheap locks use neither).

    1) Could you explain why these different pin shapes are important? (you might have a video for that already?)
    2) Could you give like a one sentence summary such as "I wouldn't leave my motorbike locked with this, but it's okay for a scooter." or "unlikely to be picked in the wild, but easy to drill through if the thieves don't have to worry about noise".

    You mentioned that you were surprised for there were no anti-drill pins. But the shutter (?) and the format of the "pre-keyway" (the hole in the yellow casing through which you put the key in the keyway), which is not round, but has some metal projections inwards, would not server as protection agaist drilling?

    • @VentShop
      @VentShop 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Agree and it looks to me like the keypins are steel as well. The combination would make for one HECK of a pain to try and drill in there and actually get it open. More than likely easier to use a grinder and cut the loop and the head of the lock pin.

    To pick the mul-t-lok, you need a mul-t-pick!
    But I'm pretty sure there's nor elation lol

    You made a point of saying that the inner pins were all standard. Is there any benefit to them being security pins? I would expect most of the time those features wouldn't come into play, with them being shrouded by the outer pin.

    Love the channel but do you make recommendations as well? I could watch all of your videos to find out which is best but they seem to all be easily picked, destroyed or bypassed some how. Albeit not all by an amateur and I understand you are a professional so you make most of these look easier to pick then they actually are. What would you use to secure your valuables? Your house?

    I would like to see you put a lock back together, I’ve seen you and bill gut several but never a reassembly , it seems impossible to someone like me

    The Alan screws look very small. Question
    Could a steel brick chisel shear the loop off from the lock body. There seems to be a Grove to stop the chisel slipping.
    Thanks love the videos.

    That's some wild looking pins. Then he states that he's a little rusty, where was that part? Picked it just like a pro.

    @lockpickinglawyer can you show a video of how you put one of your locks back together? Taking them apart is easy in comparison.

    Well it should be noted that the lock and it's construction certainly appear to be above average. I doubt the average robber can pick to your skill level!

    Hey LPL, what's the practicality of picking locks on actual objects? How much more difficult does it become?

    I love your videos even though I'm not a picker, Pity you never rate the locks you pick or compare them to other locks.
    what would you consider the safest (hardest to break in, in real life scenario, not on a bench) motorcycle padlock you ever worked on?
