I built a table saw table with a router table in it. Mine is 8ft x 8ft, which I think is to big. Yours look about the right size! And I put a Vega fence on it, just like yours! My saw is a Dewalt, I only had to redrill 1 hole. I was able to get the blade within 0.001" of the miter slot. And the fence within 0.002". I'll never see 0.003".

This is a really beautiful build. I like the way you designed the table - in all aspects. I've never seen anyone attach the bottom shelf underneath the legs like that. That's a new one for me and it makes so much sense. No jigsaw required to make it fit! Also, your unique dust management blew my mind. No dust collection system required until you feel like cleaning it up. Nice. The really good things in life are not always the most obvious. Simple is better. Great video. I'm going to watch it again.

Good table. I built it with some minor changes though, the first of which was to eliminate the middle casters due to my uneven garage floor. This unfortunately requires additional bracing of the table to maintain flatness, and exposed a lack of torsional stiffness. So I have had to place reinforcements along the long sides to eliminate most of that. I like that it has enough outfeed support to crosscut a full sheet of plywood without dropping the pieces off the back as well.

Going to build this bench next weekend with a few modifications. Super excited! I especially like that you put the router table right at the end of the table saw, so you could technically flip the fence and use it for larger cuts on the table saw if needed without a sled. Nice!

Pretty nice table but it deserves a nicer fence system for the actual saw. I bought a shop fox for mine. Designing mine in Cabinet Vision and was looking for ideas for the shelf that holds up the saw. thanks for the video.

Got my table (based off of your design) finished today. Got the table saw and aftermarket fence system installed. Had to offset the center divider on the saw side. My saw is bigger than yours and my table is only 42” wide. Will have to wait for a little bit to get the T Track and router lift. Router lift may be a Black Friday sale purchase.

Another thing. Regarding the bench vise, it is great that he put a piece of wood on the tightening part of the vise; but I wouldn't press anything tightly against the plywood edge on the other side. Plywood is not very strong when pressing the edge. It can separate. Make a simple wood piece that attaches to the edge and to the bottom of the table. Glue it and screw it. That way you have flat wood against flat wood.

Looks great. Most table saw workbenches have the blade aligned with the length of the table rather than the width. What are the pros and cons of the two options?

Only bad is the sitting area, cut out a spot got feet under the table, then Put a piece coming out from back wall that lets you hang the stools on it, you would need to add Bracing to legs if part the wood is removed from bottom. or if any one builds it later let top over hand for benches under it.

Great idea, and easy, inexpensive construction. The only issue is that our carpenter here is totally sold to Kreg, a good jig company but hideously overpriced.
He never mentions how much the yards and yards of Kreg Tracks would cost, but we are probably talking $400 + for all the Kreg stuff on top, even ignoring the other ones he used for building the structure. You can find other brands, or buy aluminum channels and keep the inexpensive table inexpensive.

Those rockler corner clamps are huge. For what purpose. Why won't a small corner clamp work.

I started building this, but kept it 8ft long. I've adjusted all my measurements to account for the extra length, including ordering additional t tracks. However, I didn't account for the size of my tablesaw I just got. The bottom base is 24" deep. To solve I am pretty sure I just need to install on the opposite side of the center plywood divider. The issue I am trying to figure out is how to still have mitre grooves past the saw with the fence system I have since it attaches at the back of the saw. I feel like this would cause a gap between the grooves on the saw and the grooves on the table and could cause binding issues if not careful. I did order the Vega 50 fence as well, and am awaiting it's arrival. Trying to figure this out before I cut into the tabletop.

My only question is ..why not make the table saw out feed lengthwise vs widthwise?
    Personal preference . Nice table.

We actually have a beam in the center of our garage, so we can’t move around or cut boards in that direction. You could definitely put it in on the side, but it just wouldn’t work with the space in our shop/garage.

@@Remodelaholic ahh I see. You could add a 4'x4' drop down or slide out leaf extension for a longer table when you need it.

Wonderful and great work bench. I build a 4 x 4 version of this to be used as assembly and work center. Great for me. I would like to add a router. Have you found your video on what you did? Great job. Thank you!

This is a fantastic video. I'm going to check out the plans too. Now that you've lived with the table for a while is there anything you'd change about the layout or design?

Move the router 3"-6" toward the table saw.

Hi this is an awesome work table. Am hoping to build this myself in very near future. One adaptation I'm thinking of doing is in the opposite side to bench saw is installing a mitre station brilliant video very goid presentation

Thanks for the comment! I do have plans in the future to build a separate miter saw station. Be sure to share how you build yours.

Of all the designs I have seen online, yours is absolutely the best. One concern I have is cutting long pieces on my table saw, but only have 48" support. Have you thought of making an out-rigger to support longer pieces?

Love the project, I do have a question tho. Did you use birch for all 3 sheets or just the top 2?

    • @Remodelaholic
      @Remodelaholic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

All three. You could mix it up if you need to.

Ok, and what style birch plywood did you use, been doing research and there are so many different composites of birch

I like how it came out for you. Unfortunately not a good design for my saw since it's belt drive. But I'm sure I can use some of the things I saw on your build so thanks a lot. Rockler has lots of good stuff I'll be incorporating in my build when I get a round tuit!

Similar to my T-track workbench, I used a 9-foot section of a used bowling alley. A couple of strips of led lights underneath would be an excellent addition to your workbench. Nice design, it looks good and is practical.
