I wish the video had subtitles, at times it would be much easier to understand. Other than that, great work, Windir is one of my favourite bands. Shame that Valfar died so early, I bet he still had lots of great music to share with the world.
Do you happen to know what was the injury that caused him to skip the USA tour? Some comments mention that on the day of his day he was seen going out drunk out of a pub into the mountains.
I went back and tried to find the source of the injury but was unable to find anything, thanks for the additionnal information about his death, a lot of interviews and general information about this band are lost to time so it's hard to find anything.
I was in Sogndal when he died. We heard that he had gone missing after getting in his car and driving off drunk in the middle of the night. The police was looking for skidmarks into the fjord, nobody knew where he was. So it was absolutely not a hike gone wrong.
@@DrzymalaWagon Yeah, and a few years later I talked to the brother of a friend of his, he said it was planned, and that the footprints "going back" were really circles that he had made in the snow for some kind of last message. I mean his last album was even called "Funeral", so... I wish I knew more, and I wish he never did it. I don't know why talented and nice people have to die like this, it makes no sense.
@@coldwhitespring5004 again, new things I'm learning here. Well to be fair according to some of the interviews he wasn't in the best place personally: heavy drinker + porn enjoyer
epic, thanks for the video! Winidir is def in my top3!
respect for all of that research, learned many new things
Excellent video mate. Hail Valfar and hail Windir.
Thank you for this upload ❤
Mann I wish your channel would get more attention
Good, except the band's name is pronounced as [vind'ir], not [windair] :)

@@coldwhitespring5004 that's fascinating to hear and actually easy to believe when one reads the lyrics to Saknet and Journey to the end
