    Been jumping rope for 3 years. Never been able to jump and run in place. Going to try this method thanks!
    Edit: Tried this method. Worked! What worked for me was going from a regular jump into a run jump. This helped keep my feet low. Whenever I felt my knees coming up I worked back into a regular jump to get my rhythm back and then switched into the run. But FML this is insanely more difficult than regular jumping. I lasted 5 minutes and had to put the rope down. But thank you so much for this I'll keep doing it daily.

    MAJOR TIP FOR THOSE WHO SIMPLY AREN'T GETTING IT:
    I appreciate this video. However, for people like myself who have watched this and are still struggling...This video failed to mention the most basic and obvious way to learn how to run in place while jumping rope, WALK FORWARD WHILE JUMPING ROPE. It took me around 30 minutes(real-time, not counting breaks) until I had a slight rhythm with bad form, then I decided to walk a along a line on the tennis court and BOOM, I had the exact rhythm and correct form down, and I stopped walking to see if I could run in place and I did. THEN, I even showed off and walked backwards--still kept my rhythm--then I stopped to run in place and oscillated the rope about 5 revolutions faster and faster and finally lost it.

    I just tried doing this technique a few days ago and I must say I did it first try. I did fail couple of times, but I just did it today and I must say I'm starting to improve little by little. I just wanna say thanks for teaching how to do this technique.

    I am not new to jump rope, but I have recently begun to get used to it more and more voluntarily. I found this channel while I was doing some casual research on jumping rope and I want to thank the founders of this channel for their efforts and generosity. Trying to put out meaningful and useful content out here for a world where most people have probably been bitten by the hyped up gyming culture and other mainstream fitness trends, is not easy. I am very hopeful for the growth of this channel as well as for the worldwide jump roping culture out there. Looking forward to keep supporting this channel and jump roping by getting better every day. Good luck from Kolkata, India. Can I please get some information on the spelling of the full names of the founders? Thanks

    2:40 I'm not sure what you mean about the rope coming down only once when you put your foot down. It looks like your wrists are making two circles each time your foot is down?

    • @JumpRopeDudes
      @JumpRopeDudes  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      R.D. Dragon - unless you are doing a double under, you jump rope and the rope makes one rotation. If you are doing a double under you jump once and the rope does 2 rotations.

    Thanks, able to do this easily now. It sure is fun when you learn new trick hahaha. I was going 30 minute skipping and felt tired, but then when i randomly tried this and somehow got it after week failing i found new energy lol. Felt like eating senzu bean and keep going run in place 30 minutes more. (With breaks here and there to calm the heart). Cant wait to get it those fancy boxer footwork lol. Thanks once again

    Thank you guys! I have a very silly question, is it okay if I did my jump rope workout without having a rope? Like sometimes I can't find it or I'm out and I don't have it or any other stupid circumstances. Does it do the same work and burn as much as it does with the rope? I'm being doubtful

    • @JumpRopeDudes
      @JumpRopeDudes  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      NOT a silly question, Sarah! ;) MOVING your body everyday is better than not moving because you don't have your rope. So the answer is yes! You can still do "fake" jump rope when you don't have your rope with you and still get a great workout in. However... no the calorie burn will not be the same. That's why jumping rope is a such a great exercise! So much total body calorie burn for your buck. Bring your rope as often as you can BUT if you can't do fake jump rope with the workouts!

    So when I do this exercise and the high knees I have real trouble getting my legs up, almost like they're completely exhausted and I can't lift them anymore. Is this because I'm not stretching properly or because I'm doing it to much?

    Apple Music has pretty mean hiphop playlist that just get me really hype for this or the soundtrack from the movie Creed is cool too. Other than making you look badass, I think bluetooth headphone are perfect for this. Mine were cheap but it get the job done since it gonna be wet anyway. Also, love the intro of this, awesome editing guys!
