I recently started a Jumprope Dudes Workout Plan... I only have a couple of cheap jump ropes and cant afford a set of Crossropes right now, so I though I'd try to make myself a set... I think it turned out quite well... how say you?

Wow, never thought a jump rope can be his fancy. Would love to make my own one day when I get my workshop sorted. Or you know what,... I recently got my 3D printer. I might just print myself one.

really well done with the jump rope.
I really like how the stainless steel work turned out.. its looks really professional. The handles are well as well.
I have to agree that the rope attachment part is kinda bulky.. but at the same time, you made all that from absolute scratch.. so who cares!
really well done, also nice to see your shop and machine collection grow..
but I was probably happiest when I saw the Woodoc tin..

Thanx alot man... crossrope eventually got back to me and said they cant sell me their quick change mechanism... bummer!... refined my design a bit... made a mini carabiner type mech, similar to their original design... working much better now... Jump Rope to Freedom Buddy!

@@maconSTUFF why don't you try swivel bearings, separately sold by buddy Lee. It will go perfectly with the handle design you have. Very good stuff.

@@maconSTUFF Made my own 3mm and 4mm ropes in the meantime, with pvc coated steelcable (airplane cable as you call it I believe). They work like a charm... instantly jump alot better than before.

With shipping, tax and conversion, Crossrope Bundle costs $452 CDN. to my door...I'm exploring different DIY alternatives using flexible heavy gauge electrical cords. I may just utilize one of my current hollow ball bearing handles and secure the cord within the handle using the appropriate sized bearing ID to hold the cord and give it the spin.
For your swivel assembly, perhaps you can incorporate a heavy duty quick release key ring...I've seen some rated at 10Kg pull strength...not sure if that would be strong enough once the cable starts whipping around, but it's possible.

    Great!!!
There was lots of effort. finally made a pretty decent Jump rope. Wish you good luck to get ropes from Crossrope.
You can actually start your own brand and sell the jump ropes in affordable price. Crossrope products are really expensive.
Please let me know you have such plans and do business in India :)

A good try bro, I also got inspired by cross rope & made one. During designing part, I understood carabiner will be too soggy,
So went for a fixed one using 6 mm swivel joint with rope crimped on the edges. I used nylon handles, locked bearing with a circlip.
Since a year rope is doing good, excellent control.
One day we will make cross rope detachable handles for sure,

  • @KHK360
    @KHK360 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Wow! That sure was satisfying to watch…well done…
Don’t you think it would have been better to use a ring as the ones you see in key chains to which the rope can be keyed in and keyed out …without the need for the hoops …which made the rope a bit bulky and was hitting your knuckles…yeah the key ring would make changing the ropes a bit tiresome though…great DIY video 👍🏻👌🔥
