- Mato Anomalies is a neo-noir turn-based RPG from Chinese studio Arrowiz, that got a lot of heat when it came out. This is my review of it.

I bought the game for $19, it caught my eye just for the looks and turned out to be pretty good
Congrats on 100K!
Really excited for this one
I liked this game enough to finish it, but not enough to recommend it to anyone. I think your review is pretty accurate, but for me the game just wasn’t enough. I kept wanting it to be slightly better than it is, and I don’t think I’ll ever play it again.
Picked that up online for like 10 bucks the other month. I will give it a try with open mind. Thanks Erick!
I haven't finished but enjoyed what I've played
Ι got the game on a humble bundle and forgot about it due to the bad reviews ,but it actually looks ok and I will play it. Thank Erick
ohhh, this peeked my interest!.. need to pick it up! (also the OST got me curious..)
I glad i can speak my mind and say anything bro! This game is interesting we need more games like it!
12.99 on woot! For switch.
I picked this up on sale, for the PS5. It looked interesting. Haven’t gotten around to playing it yet.
I bought the digital version of this a few months ago. Need to download it and give it a go at some point.
not the only one, I liked this game as well! ..I mean the translation makes it incomprehensible at times but the visual novel these guys produced was also great in fact I bought this on day 1
The dungeons looks similar to the dungeons on Akiba's Beat. Also no random encounters and also a game everyone hated but which I enjoyed. Cheers.
I've been wondering for a few years now how an RPG might benefit from a shared HP bar. In most JRPGs once two or more party members die you have basically lost- too crippled to recover or fight back- but with a shared bar you can stay at full fighting strength up until the end. I can see how it being too low to survive enemy attacks would make things annoying though.
I've also always wanted to see someone taking a stab at a Classic Noir or Cyberpunk JRPG. Normally those things wouldn't mesh well since JRPGs are generally very optimistic and those genres are deeply cynical, but that doesn't mean it couldn't work if you did it right. Injecting JRPG elements into modern genres like this usually requires the creation of a subconscious realm of monsters overlaid onto the 'real world' which is what earns the Persona comparisons.
I bought the complete edition on switch for around 4 buds, Im happy
I had a blast with this game. Managed to go platinum on ps4 version and waiting for some free time to start a ps5 run. The game was criticized for repetitive gameplay, and lack of different enemies. But for me the gameplay was just smooth, deck battle where a Lil hard and took me a bit of time to understand the mechanics behind it, once you get to know your own decks it's gets doable with just a bit of effort. In my opinion this game is a solid 8/10
I played this last year and enjoyed it, apart from frustrations with the card game. This is the only game I've got a Platinum trophy on, if you make the digression in Chapter 6 to trigger a bad ending it doesn't take too much effort to get it, the game isn't very long.
I liked the battle mechanics and soon got used to the shared health aspect. As for difficulty, it is true that I didn't manage the end boss until I had over-levelled it, but the only time I turned down the difficulty was to see if it had any effect on the card game.
This game is good. I really liked it!
It seems more like the Raidou Devil Summoner games than Persona. I've been thinking about picking it up lately because it's cheap.
I thought this game was great. really good storyline. Battles just seemed harder than they should be
Thanks for the review bro. Definatley don't want political crap but I will give it a try :)
Got this dirt cheap on the switch.
I played it on ps4. It was ok. 5/10 for me 🤷🏽♂️
Play sea of stars 🌟 🤩 ✨️ 💙
7:24 Negatives start here. Wokalizers strike again :(
Really sucks the physical version is stuck with a very buggy version of the game
That really sucks. I still get the physical if I can find it but goddamn I hate that. I want the FINISHED game on the disk!! That used to not be that much to ask
Seems like I'm the only one who bought it at launch 😅 And I don't like it very much. Every boss made me turn it to easy and the Soul Hackers tipe of dungeon put me off.
Maybe It's time for a second chance.
Chines ai game?
Even Chinese games have this modern political stuff? That has to be localizers.
Yup. So disgusting
Never even heard of this one. Thank you!
As far as woke translators go, it is hard for me to blame the translator themselves, because their bias is bleeding into their work. It is really the editors that should be telling the translators to clean up the garbage that they are injecting into the text.
Both are to blame. Localiars are lying to the audience.
I will never buy a playstation 5
I think this game also works on PS4 (Pro) so no issue there?
This game was terrible, don't bother with this garbage 🚮
Can you mention your reasons?
@@xavdeman it was too bland and boring, this applies to both story and gameplay, it's not worth ur time to play mediocre games imo.
You really found your public, mentioning "wokiness" on every goddamn video now, yeah?
Like 7 minutes in and it's a fair criticism.
