  • Hey Folks, Arly here. Just recently finished a pretty lengthy dive into #indiegamedev Arrowiz's recently released #indiegame, #horror #rpg - Mato: Anomalies. Check out what my thoughts were on this odd hybrid of mystery, dungeon crawler, and- uh, puzzle based card game. Ch'yeah.
P.S. curious about the game? Check it out @ store.steampow...

I'm a sucker for Megami Tensei vibes, even without social aspects or monster capturing.
Putting this one high on my "probably-maybe" list. Thanks for the review.

Yeah, it very much gave me the same vibes as well, and while I didn't super tackle it- there is a mild 'rock/paper/scissors' element with the Pierce/Slash/Blunt elements that characters and their attacks use- as well as the resistances that they and the enemies share- which sort of further lean into that. It's -very- simple on that front as far as strategic components go, but- it's still something.

ACTUALLY. I might dive into this on my downtime. but the developer also made 'store.steampowered.com/app/1225820/Hermitage_Strange_Case_Files/' Which seems to have some Visual novel but with a sort of lovecraftian bit to it. I don't know much about it, but the writing in this at least makes me quite curious.

I actually saw a small amount of content of this game and decided to just buy it without even caring if it was going to be good or not. The reason for this is I have been finding it very difficult to grab rpg/jrpg's as an in-store purchase for the past 6 months. So, I just ordered it on Best Buy online just to see if I could actually get it. I have still yet to decide whether I want to play it as Trinity Trigger, Fairy Fencer F Chorus or something and Jedi Survivor are all basically coming out at the same time.
As I mentioned, Jedi Survivor will be an easy find in-store but Fairy Fencer and Trinity Trigger are definitely are not going to be at the local WalMart ..THAT I can guarantee. I could not even find the PS4 version of the Final Fantasy Bar Line Theatrythym. I also had to order both Trails to Zero and Azure online, also not to mention the GrimGrimoire Once More... definitely NOT in stores. lol
Thanks for the full review! Sounds like I picked a winner! 😜

Aha, I -do- enjoy your taste in games, to be fair. While I don't console game much anymore- I've sunk my teeth into all of those save the trails game, and the Grimoire remake. (Which I wish would come to steam, along with Eternal Poison, And the Odin Sphere Games).

@@CritHit I got the Odin Sphere finally for the PS4 ( digital tho ugh )but the physical costs a limb so I will settle for that. Oh and YES Eternal Poison def needs a remaster because the load times on the PS2 were just as bad as Tales of the Abyss. I'm sure the GrimGrimoire game will come to PC in the near as it just came out last week. I myself am not computer savvy, I am a very simple man behind the times but I am starting to get interested in Steam as long as I can play with a cheap controller I'm good. But time is the issue as it always is/was with the rpg/jrpg gaming world xD
