    Interesting how you noted the Reflex being less snappy, as many consider the Shield Plus to be one of the softest shooters in its class. Definitely looking at maybe replacing my Hellcat Pro with the Reflex in the future. Great video!

      It really is baffling. I also have the hellcat pro that I do like. But the REFLEX is a softer shooter over the the shield plus and the hellcat pro.

    Enjoy your comparison videos and appreciate that your are one of the first out with new firearms! I think many of us are weighing pros and cons of these pistols...possibly as our next carry option. There isn't much information out there with side by side size comparisons when they first come out. With these new pistols so close in size it's really hard to determine in your videos the length and more importantly the size or height for concealed carry. It's usually a quick shot and the camera angle doesn't show it well as your holding them. One suggestion, might be nice to add a quick table top comparison really showing the size differences in the different configurations (mag options) between them. Nice review, appreciate your take on these pistols.

    I have the Performance Center S&W Shield Plus with a 4" ported barrel and fiber optic sights. It is a great shooter, BUT... putting a red dot on it & shooting only 3 rounds left a carbon soot deposit on the front of the optic lens. So took off the optic and it shoots really well without the optic. Put the optic on my P365XL with an aftermarket 4.2" threaded True Precision barrel without a peep hole. The back sight of the P365XL is removed for the optic to be installed, moving the red dot further back away from the peep hole which isn't there with the True Precision barrel. Ran 50 rounds through the pistol tonight & no soot buildup on the front side of the Holosum 507K lens. And even with the long gritty pull of the P365XL, it outshoot my beloved Shield Plus with the fiber optic sights. I could hit the steel target at 100 yards more consistently with the bad trigger of the P365XL over the crisp trigger of the Shield Plus. Never thought that would happen. Shows the advantage of the red dot at long distances.

    • @dannyp2267
      @dannyp2267 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like Smith and Wesson didn’t think that design through very well. Having a hole in front of the optic or even a tilt up design, like the Caniks, lead to an obscured optic, doesn’t make sense to me.

      @libertyprime9307 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's easy and useful.
      If you get let's say 50 round boxes,, you can easily count how many boxes you went through, go home and type it in a document, same place you keep your passwords and resume.
      Then if you ever get a failure, you can say after how many rounds it was.

      Both are great choices and shoot well, although the Masada Slim has a longer grip so it depends on what you're looking for exactly. Best thing to do would be to go to a gun store that has both and hold and handle them and, if possible, shoot them. Can't go wrong with either choice tho.

    As far as recoil, the video shows your shoulders are moving more with every shot of the reflex. When you shoot the shield your shoulders don’t move. Video would make me believe the Shield recoils less but since I have never shot the reflex I’ll take your word for it. Both seem nice. I dig the FDE color.

    I bought the FN without an optic capable mount a few days ago. I use it for concealed carry self defense. I can't imagine using it at greater than 20 or 30 feet, and it would likely be a lot closer, so the extra bulk and reduced concealability of the red dot don't make sense for me. I really like the crisp trigger of the hammer fired mechanism. It is less than a 5 lb pull, and without a safety I will not appendix carry. This will be my first handgun, other than a Glock, without an external safety or decocker. I have trained to click off the safety as I draw, so I am not anti-safety. However, with this gun it is surely possible to have to live life half c--ked if a mistake is made. A piece of clothing could set it off. Not to mention taking out a femoral artery. we shall see whether this reduces my likelihood of carrying it. Thanks for the review.

    • @vegeta420z6
      @vegeta420z6 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I EDC a full size HK VP9 with a trijicon RMR. and I usually forget i have it on me.
      The idea that a Micro reflex sight, on a micro carry gun, is gonna make a bit of difference as far as concealability or bulkiness. Is laughable.
      I mean you do you but it really doesn't matter the extra size, weight, real-estate is nothing that would be noticeable.
      And the odds of shooting past 7-10 yards is low but not impossible, hell 99.9% if people carrying will never have to use their firearm to defende them selves, we carry just in case, reddots if well trained with them are faster and more accurate out to range, and if the user is competent, they are faster and more accurate at bad breath distances too.
