Since when did the status quo become something even worth mentioning? That’s what guns are supposed to do. Run. That’s the bare minimum that they run. I bought three pistols last year with all over a 1000 with zero malfunctions. I could count malfunctions of all my modern guns on one hand.
Glad I came across this. I’ve been looking at several options for a new edc and just discovered the FN reflex last night in a recommended TH-cam video and it’s perfect. Been wanting to see it compared next to other guns. This was perfect
Mine has been absolutely flawless also. FN is and always has been my go to brand. I’ve never shot a pistol that even compares to any FN I’ve ever owned.
I like the reflex, I got a tan one and black one both 100% with 500-1000 rounds thru them and they are great. I prefer them over the hellcat, But over time I think my favorite is s&w CSX, with shield plus in close second. I’ve had all the micro 9mm and CSX is my favorite with xs big dot sights.
My 2 EDC options, Mc2sc and the Reflex. I prefer the ergos of the mc2sc with the 11 round because I put a pinky ext on it and it's better the the FN ext. With the ext mag, I prefer the Reflex. Overall the FN is the better shooter but also has a much lighter trigger pull. The Mossberg is way underrated for an edc, it's truly excellent.
My Reflex has been fantastic so far. I've been carrying it for about 7 months now with a Holosun EPS Carry. Probably my favorite EDC setup I've ever owned.
Love the content bro! I actually had to file down my extractor in the leading edge. It failed to feed A LOT. even from dropping the slide in the locked position as to rule out user error. I’ve got over 600 rounds through mine. I shot low left like others until I fixed my grip. It’s a nice cc!
Why compare the Reflex 15 round extended mag to the MC2SC 11 round flush fit instead of the 14 or 16 round Mossberg extended mag? I own both and really want to love the Reflex, but looks like I got a lemon. I called FN and they said I needed to “break it in using 124gr” so I’ve since done that but still having issues. The mags will NOT lock in smoothly. I have to slam them in and sometimes they still won’t lock. I’m gonna have to call FN again and send mine in. I’m really hoping that when I get it back it works like yours does. You’re my favorite guntuber! I love your honesty and your blue collar approach. Keep up the good work! Update: Sent my FN Reflex in and I DID INDEED have a lemon. They replaced the slide amongst other things and since getting it back it’s been awesome with no malfunctions. If I get to 1K rounds with 0 malfunctions it will enter the carry rotation
@ They replaced the frame so there was clearly something wrong/out of spec which made it so hard to get the mags to seat and lock properly. It’s been 100% reliable since I got it back and even with the original frame it still always went bang
I figured it out! Ok so I think the reason why everyone gets so mad about the Sig hate is because a gun like the reflex is in around the same price/quality category as the p365 with probably a worse reputation and you still stick by it. While its exactly the same for a Sig (I do agree that a $5-600 gun shouldn't have any issues out of the box) But yet, the Sig gets nothing but hate. I kinda feel like its maybe due to the fact that the p365 is the top selling handgun and it gets a massive hype train behind it. The people that road the train and had a good time are the ones that get mad. Bc it is again, the same for them. If there's works fine, then that's all there really needs to be said about it. So then it just feels like a personal thing like were dumb for picking the p365. Thats where the hate comes from bc I carry a p365 but I also recognize Glock, S&W, springfield and all the other guns you like too, but that's just the gun I chose. I dont get mad really bc I know mine is a good one but it is annoying getting told you made the wrong choice by someone you like watching.
Probably has to do with a lot of people and officers getting shot in the leg by their own P320s going off in the holsters without the trigger pulled. Also I heard the Sig CEO tried to illegally sell firearms to Columbia but managed to escape jail time.
I have 3 handguns and a fourth on the way my wife says I have too many. I just showed her this and told her to stop nagging me. Lol. Picking up my 1st rifle in two weeks. Slowly building the lineup.

Hey SPN firearms i was just wondering, i know this sounds dumb but i just want to read your opinion, people say that everything has a life span including guns which is obvious. But how likely is it for my EDC firearm to break in middle of a fight?
You think that all Cerakote wears like that or has the Cerakote just been done bad on the reflex? (or is it the lesser quality Cerakote like the air cure?). I like Cerakote, but I've been on the fence lately though, because I've seen excellent Cerakoted firearms that were immensely durable... but at the same time have seen terrible Cerakote jobs that can be scratched off with a finger nail or even just flakes off like snow while shooting the gun. I wonder about the H-Series and the E-series (elite series) too... and if the elite series is worth it. It don't cost more at all, but it's supposed to be thinner and more durable. It requires a much higher curing temperature though, so won't work on plastics most of the time.
It’s fn’s cerakote. I have so many handguns that have much more draws, holster time and shooting and have a much nice look to it. This finish isn’t very resistant. Just fn’s fault
@@spnfirearms Cool. Thanks. I don't have a whole lot of experience with Cerakote... but plan to in the future. Have a whole ton of parts I have to get coated and really don't want to have to deal with soft, easily damaged parts. I got a barrel Cerakoted once and I didn't even make it home before I had 2 scratches in the surface from things that just shouldn't have been able to scratch it (...and the scratches were down to the bare metal. They were like chips and scratches all in one.)
@spnfirearms I have 1,000+ rounds through my 509, 850+ in my 545 and 320+ in my Reflex. Only thing on the Creatok is at the friction points. Creatote is ugly as hell no matter who does it. If I want pretty, I'll pull out my blued Colt Commander (duty holster time), Python or Trooper. I'll pull out one of my blued or stainless S&W J or K frames that have duty holster time as well. Creatoke is great for durability, but it's ugly as crap. No one puts out a Creatoke finish that's nice to look at, nobody.
@@TCW838 I don't think that's the case. There are MANY nice looking Cerakote, single color guns. Yeah, it's not as nice as bluing or stainless... but neither is Black Nitride. I am no fan of colorful guns. Yeah, some might be nice for a conversation piece or something... but I just like black, gray/silver, wood and black polymer (with a few exceptions). I've definitely seen some nice looking Cerkoted guns though. I also don't think companies would be selling Cerakoted guns if they didn't look good. I'm legitimately surprised that anyone would say that there are no nice looking Cerakoted guns, because I've seen so many 100's, if not 1000s of them. On the other hand though, I have seen ugly Cerakote guns and definitely some ugly Durakote guns. In fact, most of the people I've ever seen use Durakote, use it specifically to make their guns ugly. The same is true with spray paint.
@deucedeuce1572 Respectfully, to each their own on finishes. I guess I just see it differently. Most shooters coming up over the last 20 years or so we're raised on it since it was so widely used in the military. As I said, they win in the durability category, hands down. I've just never seen any that are more than simply 'functional', that runs the gambit from HK down to Smith and everything in between. Don't get me wrong, I have several including a HK USP45, FN 509, 545, Reflex. Not as if I refuse them, actually my edc is one. But if we're talking esthetics, I prefer blued or satin stainless. To each their own.
I had a fn reflex but I had a couple of failures to feed caused by the extractor shape imo. Ultimately I traded it bc after a week of working outside it had severe rust on the slide and internals. I don’t care to call a manufacturer and have them send in a fixed version if it doesn’t work out of the box I don’t want it. I really wanted to like the fn reflex but the hellcat is the way to go.
