@@CulturallyFd I can attest to the first being in 1997 or 1998. The Anthrcon schedules don't list a fursuit parade as existing until the 2000's. The parades were mainly for the dealers, it wasn't a big event until later. No wonder footage is difficult to come by!
I cosplay, and got back into the furry fandom after looking up fursuit tutorials for making a Lucario cosplay. My goal is to start it late this year. In both cosplay and fursuits, we're all waiting for materials to be more accessible. One local store near me sells thermoplastics, good for making props, armour, and even teeth, but the selection of fake furs is so hit or miss. Wigs are also a challenge, but at least there are more affordable options online from China. Shipping on fur from the US to Canada is a nightmare!
This was a great series! I'd love to see a similar series in the future. One character I'd love to cosplay would be Bebop from TMNT. What can I say? But "Jolly Good show old boy!"
