    Watched a couple of videos but THIS one is perfect for people who cook pizza with the store bought dough. Also great for real-world pizza makers who don't make every darn thing from scratch!

      Thank so much! I tried the whole making dough from scratch thing and 1. It takes too long. 2. I can't find a dough recipe I like better than the dough I buy.

      @@dinnerbored absolutely agree! It's likr 2 bucks for similar quality so why the heck not. If you're trying to impress yourself or other people then pick a food other than pizza to make

    Ball it up first when you take it out of fridge and put it in container to rest for a few hours before you prepare it for oven

    You’re awesome. Thank you. Because of this video, my first attempt was successful. Great tips. If I cut my one pound dough ball in half, is it possible to make round pizza? I made 4 pizzas cutting two balls in half but all 4 came out oval shaped….slightly rectangular.

    Very late to this video.....but I searched videos on stretching store bought dough because I can't get it to stretch. Seems to dry and keeps shrinking back in. So I saw videos where they took it from the bag and worked it into a ball and then covered it for a hour or more. Seemed perfect. Your video shows you doing it right from the bag. Maybe only 20 minutes or so out of the fridge like the directions on the bag say....HOW???? Mine doesn't stretch. Haha.

    • @dinnerbored
      @dinnerbored  ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you found my video! It's a struggle to stretch if you knead it at all. I take mine out of the fridge and let it sit in the bag on the counter until it's cool - not cold - to the touch (20-30 minutes depending on the house temperature). It does take some practice, but you'll get it!

    How long do you leave the dough out before you start kneading? I assume you don’t take it out of the fridge and start the process.

    • @dinnerbored
      @dinnerbored  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Thanks for the question! I personally find the dough stretches out better if it's a bit cool to the touch. I usually let the dough sit on the counter for about 10 from out of the fridge.

    • @dinnerbored

    How long should you let the dough sit out and get to room temp? Thank you for the video

    • @dinnerbored
      @dinnerbored  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If it's frozen, it usually takes about 3 hours to defrost - depending on the room's temperature. If it's not frozen, I leave it on the counter for about 10-15 minutes. I personally find the dough easier to work with if it's slightly cool to the touch.

    • @cowabungakev
      @cowabungakev ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dinnerbored Very well said. I took everything you mentioned and will apply it to my new frozen batch from Whole Foods as the first one I did not realize needed to be left out to get to room temp. I tried to use it fresh out the fridge and it kept snapping back to its original form. And thank you for the fresh homemade pesto idea. You rock! & I will eventually get to the point where I am making my own fresh homemade dough in my kitchen.
