Vintage Laundry Room & Housekeeper's Closet Design | What I Love and What I Regret

Today I’m sharing my vintage laundry room makeover. I’ll be sharing how we pulled this room back from the brink - when we moved in, it had no walls and icky carpet! We found some wood floors underneath, and even discovered some old built ins and reinstalled them. I'll share how I'm organizing my cleaning supplies, table linens, and all that laundry. Plus, some honest thoughts and cleaning recos about front loading washing machines and stacking machines. (spoiler: I really like mine:) I found some really fun laundry themed art that makes me smile, too!

The colors in this room are gorgeous!😍
I love black metal baskets for my laundry room. I found some at walmart about five years ago a round one for toting clean clothes, a large hamperfor dirty clothes, and a small hamper for kitchen laundry. They look cute and they inspire me to keep up on laundry because I want things to be pretty.

I also dry out the washer where rubber seal is. But in addition I remove the drawer where you put the detergent. This really helps with air flow! Not sure if all models have this removable drawer. Mine is a SpeedQueen.

I like all the storage you have. The colors are great. And I like the exposed pipes.
I have what I call “the scullery” just off the kitchen. I keep my housekeeper items in there along with all the pantry items.

Our laundry is in the basement, ostensibly surrounded by storage. This makes me want to spruce it up once we’ve done some decluttering this spring.

I'm crazy about your high ceilings and windows😊. I have tried plastic, metal and wicker. We now use almost all wicker we have one large plastic to throw dirty laundry in the laundry room and all 5 older kids have a wicker and they do their own. We have actually had one wicker basket for 22 years and others have only lasted for 6 months.
