Mainframe modernization to cloud-native is a tricky area, where there aren't many tool chains or automation available, except for some static code analysis tools that advise on how target services may look like. In terms of building canaries, running few 'synthetic' clients in target platform to be assured of data migration and routing aspects works well. One topic that should be interesting : How did you decompose monolithic datastores (ISAM, VSAM) into target microservices oriented databases ? How did data DataSync manage the data migration on a target databases(microstores), with a potentially different schema or database engine
