I recently started going to a more pricey gym (I was doing a basic 24-hour fitness before) and I am loving it. I find that since it's more expensive the members seem to care more about the gym and take care of it more than in the gym I was at previously. The gym is always super clean and everyone is super friendly! So far the only con is having to justify it to every friend/family member that thinks the price is ridiculous. I like to think about it as an investment in my health!
It’s 1000% worth it for me. Super clean showers, they do my laundry, steam room, sauna, tons of free classes. Most people who complain about equinox are spending $$$$ drinking outside smh

I also love how they have such a variety of classes and throughout the entire day so it’s perfect for almost anyone’s schedule. Plus, the amenities and work/lounge areas are great and everything is very clean. I really love this gym!
I go to Equinox in Orange County, and it is by far worth it. I have the Executive Membership which is a private locker room club within the club and it is never really crowded and you are able to build quality relationships and network. Also, the staff is always on point and you definitely get that exclusive club feel. The price, luxuries, accessories and friendly environment are all motivators to get your but up and head to the gym after work. I go 4-5 times a week at around 6 or 7PM. Thanks Crystal for the video!
I never paid for equinox because my friend gave me a free gym pass. I went to the one in midtown East. So many appliances, razors, q tips, towels, blow dryers…it’s very hightech. Almost felt Japanese esque. Something I found interesting is that the showers didn’t have curtains; they had glass doors so you could see people showering….so yeah working out as a guy was awkward lol
If you want the water hotter in your apartment have a plumber come over and adjust the mixing valve in the shower handle. Some areas adjust it for a kid safe temperature, but you can set it higher. I’m sure there are some videos on it if you want to be handy and try it yourself.
Equinox is the only gym I would go to. I joined the gym in Sept 2016, before that I tried a private trainer, too pricy, workout in my apt complex gym, not working. I hated workout so much till I joined Equinox, everything is perfect for me. It's clean, straightforward membership cost, no hidden fees, and unlimited group class options for every exercise I needed. I used to take 1-3 group classes every day for more than 3 years till the Pandemic. Then I moved, there's no equinox around me. Now I don't even know how can I continue the workout. It's just impossible for me without equinox, I'm lazy, not athletic at all, I'm a neat freak, I need to have all access to everything, boxing, HIIT, Barre, yoga, dance, there's no other gym that has that combination. The one I went to is in Orange county sports club, there were a lot of events, and a sense of community, we hung out all the time. Really really miss my gym.
I love the Sports Club SF location! I used to teach yoga classes there. Union St is bit too small/crowded. But damn now I'm in NYC and the monthly fees are $320-350 per month...
Overconsumption is the wildest thing to me. $270 for a gym!?? People are starving. But pay $270 for something you can do for free outside by walking/running.

depends on what you get! massages look like they range from $80-$250 and facials from $80-$150. These are the prices in SF though, not sure if they vary across the country :)
Do they have free weights? Deadlifting platforms? It looks private, but are taking photos and videos not allowed? I love that my gym enforces a no camera policy
People complain about "reg" gyms being too crowded & they want more privacy when working out. But the asshats wont get a home gym & will still come to a public more expensive gym 😂😂

After 24 hour fitness with the barrier to entry being so low, there were so many low class foringers there with no shame just dirty nasty people and homeless people. Equinox is complete heaven and worth every damn penny.

Gold's may not have kids but it smells like sweat in there. Equinox is kept ice cold & sanitized to keep it odorless.
