I’m a small wrist and tend to stick to 40mm or less in mechanical watches, and just got my first (as an adult) g-shock - the B5600 and it definitely fits great!
Bought a DW5600E last month, and I have real trouble going back to the rest of my watches. So much functionality for such a low cost is what I'm all about.
You've quickly become one of my favorite youtubers in the past few months as I've just recently got into watches. I used to not like G-Shocks, as being in the military, they seemed very nerdy and samey as everyone around me wore one and they all wore the round G-Shock styles which I'm not a fan of. I did not know until your videos that they still made G-Shocks like the ones from the 80s/90s! Just ordered the DW5600E, probably going to pick up that g-shock mini in the future as well. Thanks again, TGV, happy hunting!
I've had a stainless G510 for over 20 years and still going strong. I got back into them recently and bought a GAW100 (bigger version of the AWG), a GW7900 rescue, a GD350 blackout which has a great negative display and finally the GX56BB blackout king which I love despite the size. All great watches for not a lot of money. As an aside, that Air Arms TX200 you are carrying brings back a few memories from when I used to shoot. A beautifully made rifle. 👍
When I was in the Army, I bought a DW-5000 C1 while stationed in West Germany and it was going to "Hell" watch or basically out in the woods for military exercises. I bought it in 1983 and lasted me until 1997 and I passed it to my oldest son, but he "killed it" within a week!!!! I was "Live it" that a watch that lasted for so long and went through a lot of crap, somehow it took no time for my teenage son to destroy it! Never underestimate a teenager. I've got the 5610, so as much as I love the 5600 design, the 5610's solar functionality wins me over every time. The fact that I literally don't need to worry about battery life at all (at least not for 10-20 years from what I hear). And another beautiful feature on the 5610 is the atomic time. It's an incredible reference watch, or even primary watch - if you wan't 100% accuracy, it's the one for you. But I may still pick up a 5600 in future. Great video TGV.
I was considering the 5610. I own both the 5600E and the 5600BB but I want my next G Shock to be Solar powered. It's a 3 way tie between that, the Mudman and the 500A lol. So many choices.

Like you, I wear a g shock every day and it just holds a special place in my heart. A few years back I purchased a gd350 (my first g shock) to help me wake up early without waking up my wife and two children. The gd350 has the vibrating alarm, along with world time and all of the other fantastic g shock features. I quickly found myself wearing this watch almost everyday and currently would not be able to carry out the lifestyle that I love without it. I feel that it wears smaller than its numbers suggest. I now own multiple g shocks, but the gd350 is by far and away my favorite and the only watch in my "collection" that even my wife would agree, if anything were to happen to it, I'd replace it immediately, without hesitation. Awesome video. As much as I want a Tudor or even a simple skx, I constantly find myself drooling over more and more g shocks.
I have the 5610 G Shock and also an AWG G shock. Both are solar radio controlled. However, for me, a Casio 218H is preferable to both. The 218H has larger clearer numerals. The dial is less cluttered and it has a louder alarm which I use to signal on the hour. It is not a G Shock but I don’t always need that toughness. I can take the time from the radio controlled watch if the 218H strays too far but it is very accurate anyway. Solar is nice but I only need to change the battery every 7 years on the 218H. The 218H is cheap as chips - under £20. The 218H is light and very comfortable to wear.
I've always liked the G-Shock series. The only digital watch that wasn't killed by side lobe radiation from radar and antennae on the carrier flight deck during air ops.
Great video as always. I've just purchased the GA-2100 triple black. Highly recommended for a smaller wrist. It's one of the thinnest G-Shocks ever and looks great in my opinion.
Just ordered the GWM5610-1 and super excited. Solar and radio automatic time adjustment. So never have to change the battery and never have to set the time.
I decided I’m upgrading after nearly losing my favorite Armitron square forever. True story-Armitron quietly sent me a replacement instead of fixing the backlight I paid them to do. This watch is where my love for watches began, but in Oct 2020 I began online shopping and quickly found the DW5600BB-1. At the time I knew nothing about G-shock and questioned everything. $100 for my first ever G-Shock? What am I getting? I’ve never spent this on a watch! Fast forward to this comment, I’ve already bought another $100 G-Shock (a GBD-800UC-8) and...they are the best watches I’ve ever had. Fantastic negative display and a bright backlight on both. Thanks to you I’ve learned some more about how G-shocks are different and where it all started! I’m glad to know I can actually trust in these and mod them like you did on yours above ✅
First video I’ve watched of yours. Super helpful and reaffirmed my decision to get that last one. Gotta say you just look genuinely happy and unpretentious, it’s refreshing to see. Subscribed. God bless
Big fan of the DW5600 here. Especially like it on a nato, with the sisters. Also, the Mission Impossible watch - the Casio DW290 - offer basic G-Shock features in a small case. It's not a proper G-Shock - but it could as well be.
I love all my 5600 series G Shocks, but I’m particularly fond of the gw-m5610 with the 3159 module and all the ones that came after it, such as the gw-5000, gw-s5600 and gw-s5600b. They have a slightly smaller case than the base 5600 and wear much more comfortably, especially the gw-s twins which come in at 47 grams.
I just got a G-Shock GX-56BB. I also have one of their 'GA-2100-1A1ER Carbon Core Guard' on way. I also have a Mudmaster, and a Casio Pro-Trek PRW-3500Y with Orange strap. All great 'Working away' watches.
My favorite watch is the G-Shock DW-5600E, does everything and when you do have to change a battery its simple. Have never liked solar watches as they always end up going flat on me. Have all the G-Shock classics (and other watches) but the 5600E is by far my favorite watch and I wear it every day.
I love Casio, my first watch was a G shock 5600 that my dad gave me when I was 8. I actually still have it and gets wrist time to this day. I also have the GA-2100 with the blackout dial. The blackout version is hard to find, but if you find one, buy it.
Asking a watch collector what they think of G Shocks is a good litmus test. If they don't give it at least a little respect, I know I'm not going to get along with them in this hobby.
One of the best parts about wearing a G-Shock is that when you bang it against something, there's no worrry whatsoever. In fact, the patina it earns in the process only makes it look better. TGV's 5600 is a prime example of this.
It's got a pretty large case size but it wears extremely well on my small wrists. Absolutely no regrets getting my second one ever since my first one died on me. Excellent video to introduce the different models of the Casio G Shock. Keep up the good work TGV. Always looking forward to the next one.
I own two G-Shocks. A good old one DW-6600 and a new AWGM100SF-1A4. I love them both but have to tell that the illumination in AWGM100SF-1A4 could be much better. My DW-6600 has been with me for more than 10 yrs, changed the battery once after ten yrs. Will see what happens with its analogue solar brother. Greetings from Ukraine!!!
Another great video, TGV! That said, I cannot, cannot, cannot believe that you only gave a mere mention of the G-100 ana-digi on your list-- a nice-looking offering from Casio. Normally ~$75USD in my corner of the world, currently on-line, it's listing for $53.99 (a steal, imho), and is the absolute perfect size for my 6&1/2" wrist... 🖒😎
That W-735h is the ultimate beater watch..I've banged mine all over the place at work..worn it during granite and stone polishing getting all the fine grit and water all over it that sticks to the watch and banged it 100s of time on hard stone surfaces and it's still going strong.
The GW-M5610 adds radio sync and solar and wears a little bit smaller. I just figure that's worth a mention. I actually owned it briefly, but I sent it back because I couldn't get good radio signal where I live and the non-solar version (DW-5600E) has a brighter backlight and louder beep, making it a bit more useful.
G-Shock GMA-S2100-1A: Black Casioak Mini Black with rose gold markers....fits my 6.5 inch wrist well. I wanted a low profile, out of the way G-shock when I work in the shop. Love it.
Thanks for this wonderful video on G-Shocks for smaller wrists. I, for one, also has 6-1/4” wrists. I picked up a GW7900 about a month ago and I was shocked at how well this G-Shock fits my skinny wrist. There is no doubt that it is a big boy but it also fits so comfortably on smaller wrists and larger ones alike. As such, folks with sub 6-1/2” wrists should give the GW7900 your consideration as well.
I have the Fire Package 18' G-Shock GW-2310FB-1B4JR and absolutely love it! I especially acknowledge the history behind the G-Shocks, really dedicated engineering.
The G-7800 series was great and on the smaller side (around 42mm case size). I'm glad I picked up a G-7800B back in 2009 because they didn't make them for very long and it has one of the easiest to read negative displays I have ever seen. Though for some reason the strap seems to be just a bit longer than most G shocks I've owned.
First watch I ever bought, a few weeks about a year and half ago after getting hooked on TGV’s channel, was an AWG-M100. Love it. I wear it all the time, but especially as my “cooking” watch.
My favorite is my trusted DW-5600-E. It’s my daily wear, and puts up with everything I throw at it. This video made me love it even more. Thank you for such a wonderful video. Happy Holidays TGV! Enjoy your time with you beloved family.
My DW-5600BB probably gets the most wrist time in my collection. It's one of the best beater watches out there. However, I recently came across the anadigi GA-2100, and I'm considering adding one to the collection as well. Enjoy the weather and the time with your friends and family, TGV! Looking forward to the next one. Koen
I really wish G-Shock made a smaller version of the 'Mudmaster' series. I absolutely love that design and although don't have small wrists at 7.25" the current models feel cumbersome especially when wearing anything with sleeves. I agree though, 5600 is the quintessential "G'
I stick to my GW-9100 Gulfman. First, it's solar and atomic. Second, backplate is titanium so no nickel allergy. Third, it's extra light and fits well. It has served me extremely well for almost a decade without any issues. It's my daily wear, and I hardly ever take it off which means it's been through quite a lot!
Great video as always. I've been a big fan of the G-Shock Series but have always had trouble with them because of my small wrists. This video helped a lot, thanks.
Some of these are too big and bulky for a small wrist. The three I have are the GWM-5610BC-1ER (or the 5610-1ER if you don't like the negative display), the basic G100-1BVMES and the new "Casi-oak" GA-2100-1A. By far the best for small wrist is the Square in any of it's iterations, although the multi-band 6 tough solar ones are now probably the pick of the range. The combi bracelet is a good upgrade from the standard resin strap. The casi-oak wears quite well, despite it's dimensions as it is very slim vs most other g-shocks.
I picked up a DW-5600SK-1ER super clear skeleton G-Shock on the back of this video just for shits n giggles. I haven’t had a Casio for many years but I’m loving this watch. Cool smokey grey looks. Super comfy and light with an ergonomic wrist hugging profile. Rugged looking without being silly big and just so much retro fun. Cheap as chips and a perfect ultra beater for my sporting passions of cycling, skiing and tennis. Good call mate, I feel 15 years old once again! :D So much snobbery in the watch game. I’m a passionate Omega, Breitling and Rolex owner but still appreciate a fun fit-for-purpose piece. Nice little icon. What’s not to like? 👍🏼
My favorite is the solar atomic GW-M5610. Total features upgrade to the DW-5600E with red ring along the dial to relived the classic DW-5000C. Slightly more expensive than DW-5600, but totally worth it.
The G-Shock a sensation when it came out ? Yes ! Grabbed my attention immediately , before the ultimate tool watch was my non hacking explorer "the heart of a thoroughbred in the body of a mule". The G-Shock left it choking on it's dust 🤓 , great selection here and marvelous review !
I have Casio AW591ML-1A. It has the same look as DW-9052-1VER but doesn't have the solar power. The watch has a nice mix of red and black. I think it's a perfect choice of g-shock for a small wrist after 5600 series.
Great video, I was just thinking of getting a new g-shock. I love the dw-5600 I had the pleasure to get hands on with one from my friend and decided for this Christmas I will treat my self with a gw-m5610 for the bonus multi band and tough solar functions. Thank you for giving me the idea of modding it with a nato and a bullbar, it just looks lovely on the wrist. Keep up the good work!
Hi there. This video by far the best video i have gone through about digital watch. Casio f 91 connects me with my childhood memories. I was looking for a reference video as i want to buy Casio series of watch and fortunately i got your video to checkout. Thanks alot for this lovely explanation.
I want my next G shock to be solar powered. Can't decide between the Mudman, the 5610 or the 500A. So many good choices lol. I currently own 4 G shocks (9052, 6900, 5600E and 5600BB.)
Love to hear you enjoy and own so many! Very cool Cory. Regarding your dilemma, I would think about the size, what you have already and let the functions/style be the decider. Sometimes it's as simple as which one simply makes you more excited to experience. You can always get the other one later. Thank you, happy hunting, Best regards, TGV
Having two of five (G9000 and DW5600BB), i hear very well what you are saying. Catch, though. My wrist size is 7 3/4 inch. I could pull off 50 mm case but these guys just fit so comfortable i forget they are there.
I was given a DW5600 in 1992 as a birthday present but have had to replace the resin casing that covers the movement TWICE because it seems to have reacted badly to heat. My other problem with the general DW5600 is the size of the digits. I switched for a while to a Pro-Trek because the digits were c. 6mm high which was easier to read. I’d really like to find something that has these size digits AND a resin case that won’t disintegrate. Maybe the newer compounds are better?
The eagle has well and truly landed back in Blighty, welcome back my friend, here’s looking forward to Tuesday night, onwards and upwards your friend Ryan.
Oh yeah, G-Shocks! I wear my GW-M5610 very often. I love it. Mine has been through a lot, snorkeling, mud, ice, snow and deep winter temps. Completely unimpressed. But I've been looking on other square models too. Too sad imho that not all square ones feature tough solar/multiband 6. That's a must have for me.
I love Gshocks. have a g7710. Works well on my small wrist. The only thing I have that can time something more than an hour. I think it can go for 10 hours.
The GA-800 ani-digi is not tiny, but is certainly a lot smaller than the huge ones. It's also pretty affordable. Comes in red, black/black. black/silver and a bunch of colored variations in Japan.
Hi TGV Yup, you got to have a G Shock. Mine is a GW 5610 BC on the Combi link. I can just pull it off size wise, but I catch myself babying it😆 Nice that they do in fact make some more modestly sized models. I don’t think that G Shocks will be especially harmed be the growing trend (-which I welcome) of watches getting smaller again though. Many people think that a G should be big & bulky. Keep up the good work👍
Good day. How are you? At the moment i am wearing the G-shock gst b100 watch. I have a 6, 5 inch wrist and i am not sure if the watch is too big for me. It looks okay but still would like a second opinion. Thank you in advance
I bought a DW5600 a few years ago because of one of your videos. It made me a Casio fan overnight. Thank you! Also, maybe a short video about the rifle?
i bought the g shock mini gmn 550 1djr after the initial urban gentry review. i really do enjoy it. the review criticized it for not having the verisimilitude of a more function oriented tool watch. i look at it like a range rover. because it is stylish/trendy enough to delve into the fashion world, but then you can also beat the hell out of it and it holds up as tough and durable and has all the requisite functions you need. the couple of downsides are that the strap is not changeable (no natos sadly) and the negative display isn't as visible as a standard display but is still decent, and helps to compensate with the backlight. aside from that i really do like it and have worn it out socially, to play football and on runs, and to work, really a versatile watch that checks a lot of boxes. the world time function literally saved me hundreds of dollars from purchasing a glycine airman or similar gmt watch when my sister was applying to study abroad. big up casio. and tgv for sharing your watch and life knowledge.
Great choices. I recently picked up a DW-5750 E. It’s the 3229 module but in a round case. The small case size and narrow resin band makes it my favorite.
I had a gshock but too big on my wrist. Now i decide to get a 5600 model. But still confuse which one should i pick between B 5600 classic, DW 5600 hr 1 and GW B5600 2. Does the tough solar feature greatly affect battery lifetime? How about multiband 6? Is this feature optimal if it is used in the Southeast Asia region?

First video I’ve watched of yours. Super helpful and reaffirmed my decision to get that last one. Gotta say you just look genuinely happy and unpretentious, it’s refreshing to see. Subscribed. God bless
Perfect video for me and my baby wrists!! You did help me buy a smaller g-shock last year and I absolutely love it!
Big fan of the DW5600 here. Especially like it on a nato, with the sisters. Also, the Mission Impossible watch - the Casio DW290 - offer basic G-Shock features in a small case. It's not a proper G-Shock - but it could as well be.
the new carbon core ga21000s, at 45mm, would fit almost all wrist sizes... it is also the thinnest g shock in current production
Yes I thought he would cover this one - I am sure he would be a fan of the all black stealth look!
@@EL-OH-EL-99 we have the same tastes :) ... snagged that all-black stealth ga21000 at a premium when i found one... it was worth it :)
Just got my very first g shock today g w x 5600-1 j f with solar and I’m very happy with it thanks love your reviews
I just got a G-Shock GX-56BB. I also have one of their 'GA-2100-1A1ER Carbon Core Guard' on way. I also have a Mudmaster, and a Casio Pro-Trek PRW-3500Y with Orange strap. All great 'Working away' watches.
2:40 “ go to watch for when the tough gets going”
Love you TGV 😄
Warm Regards.
The giveaway to your location was when you said it was cold and damp. Where else could it be but England.
How about the g-7700? It is the only Gshock I know which shows the week number. Great size and bigger buttons for easy handling.
Thank you, sir. I just bought one of your recommendations via Amazon and I look forward to enjoying it.
Yet to get my first gshock and your voice is a super treat, like always
One of the best parts about wearing a G-Shock is that when you bang it against something, there's no worrry whatsoever. In fact, the patina it earns in the process only makes it look better. TGV's 5600 is a prime example of this.
It's got a pretty large case size but it wears extremely well on my small wrists. Absolutely no regrets getting my second one ever since my first one died on me. Excellent video to introduce the different models of the Casio G Shock. Keep up the good work TGV. Always looking forward to the next one.
D-6900 is a perfect beater watch for my 7'25 inch wrist
Welcome home T Merry Christmas, thank you for cheering me up for years & years.
Love it.
The watch you're wearing for this video is the one I have and love it.
Was kinda waiting for a toss in the air-skeet shoot toughness test.
My favorite is the GW-M5610. Atomic timekeeping and solar power in the classic square.
Great video as always. I've been a big fan of the G-Shock Series but have always had trouble with them because of my small wrists. This video helped a lot, thanks.
I literally just bought on of these nato G-shocks (Type ii Class e) for my dad two days ago! Glad to hear you are a fan! :D
I have a small wrist and also the Casio G-Shock AW591ml ... simply fantastic!
So much snobbery in the watch game.
Thank you, happy hunting,
Best regards,
TGV
Always a pleasure to see a new video
This exactly the video I was looking for! Love your work, man!
The eagle has well and truly landed back in Blighty, welcome back my friend, here’s looking forward to Tuesday night, onwards and upwards your friend Ryan.
Love the gw-m5600 myself, the multiband 6 system is very usefull and I never have to worry about batteries!
I love the 5610 for the red outline on the display and the purple hue of the solar cells. The practicality of daily atomic calibration is cool too.
I love your channel! Great presenter and style
My dream watch list: seiko tuna 1000m automatic and casio g shock metal case. Both out of my price range (by far) so... affordable...
Hi TGV
Yup, you got to have a G Shock. Mine is a GW 5610 BC on the Combi link. I can just pull it off size wise, but I catch myself babying it😆
Nice that they do in fact make some more modestly sized models.
Wow! I was just doing a google search on “Smaller G-Shocks” last night. Great timing!
My Casio dw5600e 1996 - 2021 26 years and he still continues to fight in this world
I had a gshock but too big on my wrist.
This morning I had actually ordered the Casio GMW-B5000GD-9, I am super excited. I love a nice gold Casio watch. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Nice AA TX200, i happen to own that very rifle, and i love it. I also own and love my GWM5610-1 and the GWM5610-1BJF, a must in any G-Shock collection
Gulfman for the small wrist, or gym watch. Titanium case back & screws perfect for sweaty exposure.
Great video TGV. As Usual. Love You.
