I just got done hand sanding and polishing the big aluminum utility box on my semi. It was an old one the company put on, heavily oxidized and a lot of pitting. Cleaned to whole thing off with some brake cleaner. After that I sprayed it down in WD-40 and knocked off all the oxidized layer with a 240 grit scotchbrite ball, then hand sanded working my way all the way up to 2000 grit, using WD-40 and wiping it down between grit changes. Finished off with some Mothers Mag & Aluminum polish and now I can see my reflection. Still quite a bit pitted and dinged up in areas, but it certainly looks a lot better all shined up.
not bad at all! I have a Pontoon boat, and when we acid wash the toons, they lose their milled or grained look to em... Nobody has ever shown how to get that look back. Closest I've seen is the Shark Hide guy doing a Grained or hand rubbed finish with some different grade scotchbrite pads.. But i bet this would be so much better!! I believe I heard some where that the finish on pontoons from stock is 600 grit ???

That is awesome!!
Great Video, I am polishing a plane nose to use indoors for mancave. After polishing, do I need to seal it? if yes with what ?
Great question. There are clear coating products on the market that can help with this.
How about some WD-40?
How much rpm is the best to brush aluminum? Thanks!
This was 3,200 rpm

Nice tool for flat surface
Also have sandpaper profile flap wheels for any curved or contoured Surface
It’s not going to get you the most perfect looking finish but it does the trick.
Hi, could you tell me the name of this bundle please. I'm not sure which 1 it is on your site 👍🏻
Aluminum/Stainless Refinishing kit
Üdv ez nagyon szép lehet. Gratulálok
Feliratkoztam. 🤝👍✌

😆
Rip headphone users

What is this machine used? Name & model?

All you really need it wD-40 and steel wool.
That machine is useless on anything that isn't flat.
Actually it works really well on irregular surfaces with our nylon brushes, sandpaper and scotchbrite flap wheels. Thanks for the feedback!
you should do a sound check before you post videos man.
Thanks. Just recording quick stories for IG with my phone and ended up uploading this one.
Use a DA and sand paper
thanks for the feedback. The Restorer is a linear polisher so you won't have to worry about swirl marks on the surface :-)
Damn dude speak into the freaking microphone so people can hear you
Great point
Every video I have watched on restoring aluminum has been like this.
Seconds!! You mean 20-30min
