The original Flitz was designed for cleaning fiberglass and gelcoat, and it was amazing. We found out that the same original Flitz would clean all the billet parts on our sand rails after they would get blasted from the dunes. The same thing with the powder coated surfaces on our sand rails... Flitz shined it right up. It is much more effective than Mothers or Never Dull. I wasn't aware of the pre-clean spray, but will have to give it a try. I bought a quart can of Flitz about 15 years ago and I am still working on the same can. It takes very little to get the job done, and the blacker the rag gets, the better it works. Then just you a clean rag for a final buff.
I have most of your chemicals, but after buying them, I had put them aside, and over time had forgotten how useful they are when you follow the instructions. Thanks for making this video and reminding us how well these products work in cleaning so many things around your vehicles, your shop and your home.
Instructions IMO are one of the most IMPORTANT aspects of a product just for the reasons you said. What good is a product if I forget how to use it? Sometimes we buy things use them once, come back years later and need to refresh.
Years ago, I had bought a used S&W stainless steel service revolver from the FWPD. I used Flitz stainless polish and it looked like new. Superb product.
Been using flitz since it was in the tube on boat detailing since i did detailing at the Newport boat show and it sold a ton of boats that was listed for yrs prior with no sale and I did my work and sold everyone I touched it's the best product hands down I've turned thousands of people to try it
Have used Flitz on my boat metal since 1992. I have used it on chrome, copper, and aluminum. I used Flitz to remove the bluing on a lamp metal parts so I could change the color of the metal on the lamp.
Last Sept I purchased a car from FL and there is a milky white residue on all of my aluminum alloy wheels. I stumbled across this video and opted to check it out. When Flitz rep mentioned mag chloride on FL roads I thought OMG! That’s what’s likely caked on my wheels. Will buy product ASAP. THX UPDATE: Tried it. Was disappointed to say the least. 🙄 It generated a hint of improvement on wheels but in no way did it remove the grime as I had hoped. For what it’s worth, I sprayed it on a towel n it added a bit more brightness to whitewalls. So, it’s not a total bust. Will try fine grit sandpaper to see if that helps.
NEVER DULL is the old hot rod best to use on alum wheels. I always use it on my 1977 Crager alum wheels and now of course for many years. It is a preinserted oxidation polish into a large wool wade in a can and you pull off what you need to do each wheel with as you go along. Always keep lid on the can after taking a piece off for a wheel so it does not start to dry out. BEST PRODUCT ! STILL USING SAME CAN SINCE BOUGHT IN 1977.
yes never dull is navy aprove this clown is a last night sales ptch ! ive polished more motoe dirt bike car car parts than this hack never dull some mother and elbow grease
Forty five year old wheel cleaner/polish. Both Presidents Gerald Ford (Oldsmobile Toronado) and Jimmy Carter (AMC Matador X) could have used the same product in 1977 while they were polishing their cars at the White House.🤣
You can teach an old dog new tricks only if the old dog wants to learn, you keep right on using the same old wad, and us new trick old dogs will use Flitz.
Yep, gone thru cans of that stuff. But again, depending on the alloy. Cast wheels use a different alloy than forged wheels. Many aluminum alloys don't forge well. 7075 is the top alloy for forging and has a high zinc content and will polish up and resist tarnishing or corrosion longer. Problem is it doesn't weld or repair easily,
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!!! IT RESTORED ALL OF MY TRIM ON THE EDSEL!!!!! I RAN OUT AND I NEED TO BUY SOME MORE!!!! GREAT VIDEO AND THANKS FOR SHARING. I BOUGHT THE SMALL TUBE SIZE.
I have used Flitz for years on a brass woodstove door. Polishes it up very nice. The heat from the stove dulls it again over time, so it has to be redone periodically. I believe I bought my first tube from the woodstove dealer in town.
Not that this is a poor product but every infomercial sales guy has the best product since sliced bread. I’ve used this product from the tube. And it’s pretty good.
I just purchased the kit and have the very same, beautiful Weld Drag Lites on my pride and joy 97 Trans Am and let me tell you, I CAN NOT wait to polish and ceramic coat the back side of my "hoops"!😃😃😃, yes, I am that ate up over my car!🤣🤣🤣

that old man has never changed a tire in his life!!!! seems like i am the only person to watch the whole video cause he demonstrated on how you can get in between the lug nuts with the 3 inch buffer, at 9:28 in the video... but yet as men we all know the expression of " oops, wrong hole! "

i have the same aluminum rims but for a truck and in worse condition. is the pre-cleaner safe on the original clear coat of the rim? i'm hoping to avoid going beyond the original clear coat when cleaning.
Hi drummerfish. Ollie will be here NEXT WEEK and we're shooting a new video. I'll ask him your question but I'm confident the answer is "Pre-Clean is safe on clearcoat and single stage paints. -Mike Phillips
The precleaner is good stuff, but very expensive, at around $20 for a small spray bottle. It's mainly Urea Monohydrochloride, which is in very simple terms, urine mixed with hydrochloric acid. But it cuts through carbonates like a hot knife through butter...
I had a 1975 dodge power wagon in Alaska with similar wheels. The wheels looked like brushed aluminum when I bought the truck. I got mine back to a mirror finish.
Kind of a dirty trick using copper for that test. Some of us remember Tarn-x which makes copper shine like new with just a quick dip. Doesn't do anything for aluminum though.

When polishing alloy you will always get black residue on your polishing cloth from dirt and oxidation in the metal. Continue polishing until you reach the desired level of shine you are looking for.
Yes as long as they are not clear coated from the factory. Easy way to check if they are clear coated or not is to rub a small spot with polish and then check your polishing cloth. If it turns black they are not cleared and you can use a metal polish on them. If your cloth doesn't turn black then they have a clear protective coating on them. In this situation a normal car wax is what you want to use.
Just a sales session you even wont find in a shopping mall, because there people will question the perfectly smooth surface of that rim. oxidation is rough and has to be polished away with high speed buffing/ cutting wheels and not a fluffy overpriced shower sponge

What does the ceramic coating look like after a year? Would you just reapply, or would you have to polish and start over before reapplying.
On bare alloy you would probably need to polish it again but the amount of effort will be much less than without the coating applied.
