Berkey Water is under a class action lawsuit for their false claims. You almost had me until you admitted that Clearly Filtered isn't certified.
Nice job Alexa! Your video was very helpful. I have used a Berkey for ten years and but have fluoride in our water and just hated the whole process of the white fluoride filters. After watching your video I decided to order the CF pitcher and I love it. The only trouble I had was priming the filter. I have arthritis in my hands and it was very difficult to fasten the filter onto the priming bag tight enough, so the water just flowed over the top and no water came out of the bottom. After a few unsuccessful tries, I finally was able to grasp it with one of those rubber jar openers and twist it tight enough and it worked! Now I am enjoying fresh clean water. Thank you!

We purchased two filters/pitcher over six months and can definitely see a reduction in quality. The second pitcher kept leaking from the same location and the replacement filter for the first unit couldn’t be activated. Clearly Filter customer service insists on customers troubleshooting with parts over a course of several weeks with gaskets and removing the filter and reattaching it. Return shipping is the responsibility of customer even if the unit is defective. Water from the second unit doesn’t even taste the same as the first unit. Not sure what’s going on here but the quality and the consistency is definitely degrading.
Tips: I got my Clearly Filtered Pitcher for around $64. It was on sale, plus I subscribed to the filter replacements. When they're having a sale, and you are subscribed to the filter replacements, you can go into your account and apply the sale price to your already discounted filters. Of course, your price per year of replacement filters depends on how much water you filter. For me, the filters will last 6 to 8 months, so only around $68 or less per year with the subscription discount, plus using a sale code. The pitcher holds 1/2 gallon of water, so you just calculate how many gallons you use per day. I only have to fill mine once a day, unless I need more for cooking or for guests. So I can use a filter for approximately 200 days. For me, 6 months is a good estimate, so only two filter replacements per year. Great value! Much cheaper, and so much easier than paying for and lugging heavy bottled water cases home, plus trying to keep stocked up.
@@angiepattillo3599Hi there. I really want to purchase this product but I'm skeptical, as there are many scams and unverified reviews out there. Just curious, are you still using it? If they're gonna charge this much for the plastic container then they should at least upgrade it to glass. The filter is all you're paying for. So it sucks that the other $70 is for that plastic container
Pitcher costs $90. This includes a filter cartridge priced $55. That means $35 for just the pitcher. You are right, it's not cheap, but if you use our discount code you get an additional 15% off. That would be $29.75 for just the pitcher.
@Al Jay you need to do research on micro plastics, you should not be consuming anything with any kind of plastic touching it, unfortunately we are all fucked at this point
I understand why you guys want to use glass (or stainless steel). I'd imagine it's just much more complicated to produce. Also, the filter cartridge would still be plastic...
Hi! Thank you so much for the tutorial! I just bought my clearly filtered pitcher. I followed your instructions and primed my filter 3x. However, the entire reservoir filtered really fast. Like 15 min total. Is that a bad sign that it filtered that quickly?
When I first bought this, and used it, it the water had a foul (rotten fish) smell. Even after priming it. I was really worried until I followed the website's instructions to soak the filter overnight (8-10 hours). After that, it was good to go.

@@fatfishtaco I actually stopped using it. We have high TDS water in Missouri over 300... and the TDS after the Clearly Filtered didn't change much. I know it's supposed to keep in the "good" minerals... but I just didn't see much of a difference (before/after). Maybe if your town has soft water, you might get better results. I decided to get the Zero Water filter instead, because at least it reduces TDS to zero. Then I can just add back my own minerals. I now make magnesium bicarbonate water... so the zero filter helps to get everything out.
@@fatfishtaco Welcome. Yeah, I always wondered how a filter can keep in all the good minerals while taking out practically every bad one. Many minerals (good/bad) have similar molecular weights... so how does it distinguish? Maybe it works for some people, but i was disappointed.
That's wonderful! I just bought a pitcher from them and am now looking for a shower filter that would filter a lot of contaminants too (fluoride, estrone, progesterone..). Do you have any brands in mind please?
Shower filters have pretty high flow rates but are rather small, so they tend not to remove a whole lot of contaminants. In your case, I would recommend the ProOne tested to remove 75% progestrone and 48.2% fluoride. That's about as good as it gets. If you are interested, here is a link (affiliate): prooneusa.com/product/chrome-shower/?ref=217&campaign=YT
I agree. ProOne is the shower filter that I bought. It removes far more contaminants than any other that I've found. Most, even the Berkey, basically only remove chlorine and solids (dirt).
Seems to be a common misunderstanding that this Clearly Filtered Water Pitcher has a "lifetime warranty". It does not. According to the official website: "Clearly Filtered offers a limited lifetime warranty....This warranty does not include filters and expires after 24 months from the date of purchase for pitcher and bottles." Also, "For Inline Filters, like the UTS and Fridge Filter, this warranty expires after 18 months from the date of purchase and does not cover additional damage beyond the cost of the product." Verified this with a Customer Experience Agent.
So, the "limited lifetime" of 24 months for the pitcher being reviewed? 🙄 Simply stating @ 2:39 "the nice thing about this company is they do provide a lifetime warranty" is misleading or uninformed. It's a 24-month warranty from the date of purchase for this pitcher (no warranty on filters), far from what the average consumer would consider "lifetime". It seems Clearly Filtered only uses the buzzwords "limited lifetime warranty" in the hopes consumers won't delve into the warranty details.
Independently tested against NSF standards (42, 53, 244, 401, P473) but not NSF-certified. In other words, the testing procedures are identical, but were not performed by the NSF or one of their partners.
Well, I'm taking the leap with both the pitcher and the bottle. Seems like a sensible investment given the amount of traveling I do and the less than stellar tap water I have.
The lab performance sheet for the gravity-fed pitcher does not explicitly tell you if it was tested in a third-party lab...with berkey lying about their performance it would be great to have an actual certification. Also, the specs sheet for the pitcher under pesticides was "copied and pasted" incorrectly
Getting NSF-certified takes a while. But Clearly Filtered has started the process. Here are their first NSF certifications granted by the WQA: find.wqa.org/find-products/ctl/detail/mid/1054/cid/clearly_filtered_inc/sid/3?keyword=clearly+filtered - PFOA/PFOS find.wqa.org/find-products/ctl/detail/mid/1054/cid/clearly_filtered_inc/sid/1?keyword=clearly+filtered - chlorine
I see your filter was letting water leak from the top to the bottom without filtering it. Mine did that too. Found a manufacturing flaw and shaved off a plastic lip on top of the filter. Low quality manufacturing. Hope the filter is actually working.
@@andrescortez7268 I checked the top of the filter that touches the bottom of the basin to see if anything would allow water to pass through. It had a thin lip raised up where the two halves of plastic walls were connected. Just make sure the top of the filter is completely flat. I used an exacto type knife to shave it.
Great question! It does retain all beneficial minerals. So as long as you're happy with the mineral content of the feed water, there's no remineralization needed.
Hello! Sorry for my English :) But I need a good advice. I live in New-York City, in Brooklyn. It’s rented apartment, so I can’t put undersink reverse osmosis system. People told me in NYC tap water is very clean. Anyway I would like to get a good filter and I’m looking to Clearly Filtered pitcher. Could you tell me, is it a good way for me? Thanks a million 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Yes, the Clearly Filtered Pitcher is perfect for tap waters. What you can also do is search for your water utility here: www.ewg.org/tapwater/ - find out what contaminants could be present in your water supply and make your buying decision based on that.
NO tap water is "clean." The water processing plant cannot remove the drugs (illegal and prescription) that people flush down the toilet, or that pass through their urine. They ADD dangerous chemicals like chlorine and fluoride, which must be removed. After MUCH researching of other brands, I've used this filter for years, and it's fantastic!
I tried this pitcher for over a month and eventually got so frustrated that I returned it. That being said the customer service was excellent. But they sent me a replacement lid and a free filter because nothing worked properly. After a week or longer these filters halted to a stop so it was unusable. Perhaps I just had bad luck but they ended up paying for me to ship it back because of all my inquiries. 🤣
I am having a heck of a time priming the filter. Water flows from the top and never makes it through the filter. I am waiting from a response from them with return instructions.
Crystal Quest Water Pitcher Filter System is more budget friendly. Gives 5 filter options depending on your needs and the filter replacements are affordable. Plus it is recommended by Dr. Berg. It is the only second water pitcher I use outside of Clearly Filtered Water Pitcher. I own both, and water tastes good.
WOW i just noticed the water taste way better now, in the video the company and youtube reviewers tell you to do priming only twice! I did it two and half times and the water still had that bad tap water flavor, after filtrating the first full gallon of water that tasted awful, now on the second gallon it tastes way better! Almost like distilled water, SO PLEASE people i recommend doing priming at least 5 to 6 times before drinking, who knows what contaminants drank on my first gallon batch
Great video. I read that that minerals we need from tap are not bioavailable for the body anyway so therefore are not the right kind and we should be adding in minerals instead.
Was going to get this but then I realized that based on usage of 4 people, the filter would need replacement every 4 weeks at the latest, the 4 month lifespan is for one person. So it would end up being more expensive than getting a reverse osmosis system with a higher upfront cost, but a lower overall cost in the long run considering their filter lifespan is longer. The only RO system I was able to find that removed all of my local contaminants was the CloudRO, plan on testing that one at some point?
@@boswater6065 It's a startup that started in early 2023 and installation takes half the time vs traditional RO systems. Their referral program gives your audience $100-$200 off and free filter replacement set for you and 1 year money back guarantee.

Yes, you can pour while the pitcher is still filtering, just not while the top compartment is still completely filled. So you need to wait a bit. If the bottom and top reservoir are completely full, you cannot pour without spilling. So if the bottom is full already, wait before refilling the top reservoir.
CONSIDER IT CAREFULLY. They sent me a defective filter at first and "out of courtesy" they send me another filter, which took about only 20 days, compared to four months as stated in the ads, to degenerate into filtering the tank for over hours. What cannot be accepted is that they refuse to refund since it is out of the 30 days return period. They seem to forget that a 20-day waning cycle and sending a defective product are violations of customers' rights!
Thanks for sharing. What type is your water source? And have you ever tested your water? If it's overly dirty, then it'll clog the filter cartridge much faster.
I just received my order. The lid arrived broken. The lid, which was fixed with tape, should not have broken during delivery, but I don't understand why they sent me a broken product. I reported this to customer service, they only thanked me for reporting it, but I felt bad because I didn't receive a proper apology. Looking at this comment, I feel a little uncomfortable because it seems like it's not uncommon to receive a broken product.
My opinion is that Fluoride causes Alzheimers and we know how this is obvious from the increase in this horrifying condition. I bought one of these and I feel better in just a few days. I think for that alone I would recommend it!
Hi Twila, I bought two clearly water filters for the same reason. Florida is detrimental to our health and I heard Zero water does not filter fluoride. I am so disappointed I had to send the pitchers and filters back. Not only did the seals fail during the priming process but the unfiltered water leaked through the seal into the filtered water compartment. Does your seal work properly on the filter? Maybe is was just a faulty batch that came out of the manufacturing process… Thank you for letting me know if your filters leak. I may try ordering another pitcher.
@@ilyseboukather2425 it says in the instructions that priming is a leaky process, I had to gently shave a little flashing from the seam on the raw water reservoir.
I had a bad reaction to Clearly Filtered water. Anyone know why this might’ve happened to me? Messed with my nerves which granted are affected by a bad reaction to antibiotics. But that’s the whole reason for the pitcher. My RO water doesn’t affect me.
@@s98247 What were the reactions you two had? How soon after drinking? How many times did it happen? Please provide as many details as possible, so we can learn about this. Thanks!
This particular filter has been shown to INCREASE cobalt levels after filtration when another TH-camr had it lab tested. Now, cobalt is a part of vitamin B12 complex, which plays a massive role in the nervous system and neurological conditions. I can only guess that perhaps an elevated cobalt level may be interfering with vitamin B12 and thus your nervous system. It may be helpful to get your cobalt and B12 levels tested. I'm not sure how the antibiotics fit in the picture though. Not a doctor, just my self educated guess.

I just got my Clearly Filtered pitcher recently and ran into an issue with the filter. It started to filter water VERY slowly after around 3 weeks of use. I have tried priming the filter on several occasions but it seems to only resolve the issue for a couple of filters before going back to being slow. I reached out to customer support and they suggested trying the reverse flushing technique, which I also tried to no avail. Has anyone else run into this issue? Were you able to resolve it?
@@boswater6065 Did a bit of digging and I think it's somewhat common for certain areas of California to have an above average TDS level. I've seen a lot of people complaining that filters that were advertised to have a 3+ month life span only getting a few weeks out of it. I guess filters just aren't ideal for anyone living in these areas. A water distiller seems to be the easiest way to go for me.
You either count the number of gallons filtered or you take a rough estimate based on your daily water consumption or you change when the filtration speed goes down considerably or when the taste of the filtered water declines. But as a general rule it's always better to replace sooner than later to make sure that the filter you are using is still effective.

We have been using it for years and are very satisfied. The only downside is that the filters are extremely expensive. As with the printers - the same. The printer costs $80. The printer cartridges are almost the same. A single exploitation of customers! The carbon filters can't cost $55 to make. plus tax! Mainly just coal!!! Must be a joke. But the manufacturers don't make their money with the water filter, but with the replacement filters, which have to be replaced regularly. (Every 3 Month for 2 persons)
Yeah, Canon has a nice scam going with their Printers, they won't work to print even black only unless colour tanks are also installed. I rarely use my printer at home, I get a few uses out of it and then the cartridge ink has all evaporated. Now I take them out after every use and wrap them in plastic to keep the air out. Companies are so incredibly corrupt.

I was wondering if the ph of the water has been tested? I have GERD and need to ingest alkaline water. I’ve tried to search and find information but can’t seem to find anything on the ph level. Thank you!
It could be that your water is already pretty clean right from the tap, so low hardness for example. What you could do is get a new replacement filter and see how long it takes to filter one pitcher with it. If it's about the same, all is good. You can still continue using the old one afterwards.
@@boswater6065 thank you. So it won't matter if I store the new, but already used filter until I need it (likely as long as 6 months)? It's okay to allow them to dry out? My water does have 26 contaminants in it, with 13 of them being over the EWG's recommendations. Thus why I chose the Clearly Filtered pitcher over even Berkey and ProOne cannister gravity systems, since CF actually removes more of those contaminants. But It isn't hard water. Is it possible to over prime the filters and break the membranes?
@@angiepattillo3599 Sorry for the late reply, Angie. If you allow the filter to dry properly it shoudn't be an issue. But better to double-check with CF. The number of contaminants are not really the problem with filters clogging. It's more about their types. Regarding "overpriming", CF filter elements don't contain membranes. There is a stainless steel mesh, activated carbon, and a composite shell. All that could potentially happen is channeling, but I doubt it.
@@boswater6065 Update: I also started to notice a small, slow drip coming from the top of the filter, allowing unfiltered water to go into the filtered water. I made a video and sent it to Clearly Filtered through email. They responded by sending a new filter. This filter is perfect. No leaks, and takes around 15 minutes to filter the water. I had also been concerned that all the water was coming out of one area of the filter outlets. The filter is created to have the water "wander through" the filter to clean the water. This new filter sends the water through all of the outlet holes. I feel much better about this new filter. I guess the first one was defective. The CF customer service is amazing also.
Hi! I recently got this filter and I am finding some weird about it. So in the section where you pour the unfiltered water overtime i see a lot of like dirty things, probably dust bacteria it looks really dirty. Now i get that this section is where the water is filtered but I’m just scared. like is that normal does this happen for you too? the water in the bottom section that is filtered looks really clean though. just wondering please let me know thanks!
I’ve noticed that too, which makes me think it’s doing it’s job. I also rinse the top portion once in a while! Just quick rinse and glad to see none of the charcoal stuff gets in the water below after filtered!
Sorry for the late reply! I wouldn't worry about some charcoal fines floating in the top reservoir. It's not ideal, but if there are none in the filtered water it doesn't really matter imo.
Hey Michelle, Thanks for your question. As for Brita, their filters are much more affordable. However, they are NSF-certified to remove about 25 contaminants only, depending on which version you buy. Generally speaking, the filtration process is nowhere near as thorough as with the Clearly Filtered Pitcher. And for Berkey (I'm assuming that's what you meant), their gravity water filters are pretty solid which is why it's our go-to brand for this type. They're NSF-tested to remove a whole bunch of contaminants.
TDS is not a good parameter for measuring water quality except for certain cases like when you want to measure the salt rejection rate of your RO membrane. For example, if your water contains healthy amounts of calcium and magnesium that contributes to TDS, and the Clearly Filtered doesn't really remove these minerals.
I tried both priming bags and filters that came with my order but none is twisting shut for water to move from priming bag through the filter. I understand overflowing from the sides is somewhat normal but not seeing even one drop comes out of the filter’s end? The priming bag’s plastic looks like they were not deburred at all carrying rough edges. This should not have been the case for the price paid for. Return.
Thanks for sharing. Here is an easy fix provided by Clearly Filtered for when your priming bag doesn't work: help.clearlyfiltered.com/en-US/i-am-having-trouble-priming-my-filter--what-should-i-do-336518
did you flush the filter. the only thing in the water is carbon based filter so like charcoal or something similar. if not you may have gotten a bunk filter. maybe you didnt flush long enough
TDS is not a good measurement for drinking water quality. There are many healthy minerals like calcium that contribute to TDS. So if your water is high in calcium which is a good thing, your TDS meter might read "300" or something like that. Aside from that, the CF Pitcher does not try to lower TDS, which also wasn't claimed in the video.
@@boswater6065 there's also such a thing as bad TDS, some dissolved solids can be pollutants. The first few pitchers of product water are high ph and high TDS, then both come down.
Sorry for the late reply. It seems like my original one didn't get posted. You want to make sure that the water is microbiologically safe. Also, overly dirty water will clog the filter in no time. So, pond and stream water are not a good idea. Rain water may be possible depending how you store it. Again, there should be any harmful germs in there.
Personal experience. That said, we'll lab test the Clearly Filtered pitcher and the under sink filter in a lab really soon (stay tuned), so let's hope that we won't be disappointed!
Results for the pitcher are in (th-cam.com/video/kILjX2mYxCI/w-d-xo.html). We need more time to test their under sink filter. I apologize if you have been waiting for this since my earlier comment. There are just so many water filters to test.

we haven't had any issues with that. would be interesting to learn what that oily layer is. also, have you tried other water filter pitchers on your water?

I would use a water tester to see how pure the water was. I put purified water in this water pitcher container, and it made it worse. I do not recommend not worth the money.
I agree. You would have to conduct your own lab testing. We usually use the Premium Water Test by ETR Laboratories(etrlabs.com/product/premium-water-test/)
There is a video coming soon where we'll test the unfiltered vs filtered water. But there's no way we can test for all the contaminants that Clearly Filtered claims their pitcher can remove - this is far from trivial.
Anybody looking to buy this.... DONT. I had the worst experience with this company. Water takes 12 hours to filter. When I reached out to support they just said I didn't prime the filter correctly. I've owned several filters that needed priming and followed the instructions to the letter. I reached out several times in hopes of getting a replacement due to mine being defective and nothing. The pitcher is self is a design nightmare. The top lid is made of a piece of plastic that's thinner than a sheet of paper and falls off everytime you pour water. Save your $100 + Dollars.
Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience. Did you have any problems using the priming disk/bag? Also, check this solution that they're providing in their FAQ section: help.clearlyfiltered.com/en-US/i-am-having-trouble-priming-my-filter--what-should-i-do-336518 I think "design nightmare" is a bit over the top to be honest. I don't see a problem in the top lid being thin. And for me the only time it could have fallen off was when I poured the last bits of water. But putting a hand on top is an easy way to prevent that - not perfect I agree but also not a deal breaker if you ask me.
@@boswater6065No, the instructions and video were easy to follow. I know I received a defective product. These filters are not cheap and Clearly Filtered support made no attempt to make it right. I’m not going to continue to purchase expensive filters I don’t even know work.

I got my Clearly Filtered Pitcher for around $64.
Hi! Thank you so much for the tutorial! I just bought my clearly filtered pitcher. I followed your instructions and primed my filter 3x. However, the entire reservoir filtered really fast. Like 15 min total. Is that a bad sign that it filtered that quickly?
Hi Jesse, as long as you installed the filter element correctly and no water bypasses it, you should be fine.

Great if your review would include lab testing of the tap water and post filtered water. Nice presentation, yes, your kitchen is pretty.
Thanks. Saved me the time of watching it.

It’s insane how much contaminates are in the tap water
Seems to be a common misunderstanding that this Clearly Filtered Water Pitcher has a "lifetime warranty". It does not. According to the official website: "Clearly Filtered offers a limited lifetime warranty....This warranty does not include filters and expires after 24 months from the date of purchase for pitcher and bottles." Also, "For Inline Filters, like the UTS and Fridge Filter, this warranty expires after 18 months from the date of purchase and does not cover additional damage beyond the cost of the product." Verified this with a Customer Experience Agent.
You are right, it's a limited lifetime warranty.
You are right. To be fair, many companies do it like this, but, you are right.
Independently tested against official standard, but not tested or certified by NSF. Is my understanding correct? Thank you!
Independently tested against NSF standards (42, 53, 244, 401, P473) but not NSF-certified. In other words, the testing procedures are identical, but were not performed by the NSF or one of their partners.
Does the filtration syst add any chemicals? Many pitcher systems seem to do so.
Thanks for your question. No, the CF Pitcher doesn't add any chemicals into the water.
Well, I'm taking the leap with both the pitcher and the bottle. Seems like a sensible investment given the amount of traveling I do and the less than stellar tap water I have.
You did your homework which one would you recommend for best drinking water and safest thank you
In terms of pitchers, I would go with the Clearly Filtered.
Here are their first NSF certifications granted by the WQA:

The Clearly Filtered Water Pitcher review provides helpful insights.
Great to hear!
Hello! Sorry for my English :)
But I need a good advice.
Your English is very clear and understandable! 😃👍
@@Jan2010new thank you so much 🙏🏻 I still learn English.
Thanks for sharing!
I am having a heck of a time priming the filter. Water flows from the top and never makes it through the filter. I am waiting from a response from them with return instructions.
Maybe this helps: help.clearlyfiltered.com/en-US/i-am-having-trouble-priming-my-filter--what-should-i-do-336518
Crystal Quest Water Pitcher Filter System is more budget friendly. Gives 5 filter options depending on your needs and the filter replacements are affordable. Plus it is recommended by Dr. Berg. It is the only second water pitcher I use outside of Clearly Filtered Water Pitcher. I own both, and water tastes good.
We're planning to check this one really soon, too!
Question: What about well water? That is what I have. Is this the best filter for well water?
In our opinion, yes.
Thanks for sharing!
Great video. I read that that minerals we need from tap are not bioavailable for the body anyway so therefore are not the right kind and we should be adding in minerals instead.
Hi Cherie, could you share the source you're referencing, please?
@@boswater6065 yes it was Information when I was looking at a distilled water system. Which I know with distilled you need to add minerals.
Our minerals should come from our foods anyway. And if your tap water doesn't have minerals in it already, no filter can "leave" them in.

What's the ph level of the water after being filtered
Does it have to be kept on the counter or can I keep it in the fridge?
You can keep it in the fridge if you want.
I prefer the fridge. Water left at room temp can begin to accumulate bacteria, including algae and molds. If keeping at room temp, take it apart and clean it regularly with soap and water at least once or twice a month.@@boswater6065
can you pour out of the pitcher while it's still filtering? also I've seen comments that it spills out if you fill the top when the bottom is full?
Yes, you can pour while the pitcher is still filtering, just not while the top compartment is still completely filled. So you need to wait a bit. If the bottom and top reservoir are completely full, you cannot pour without spilling. So if the bottom is full already, wait before refilling the top reservoir.
The water in the top reservoir will not pour out through the spout.
How did you know it was defective? What do I look out for? Answer greatly appreciated.
@JJJ-uo3cr Thanks for sharing. Did you order directly from clearlyfiltered.com?

We will do that very soon! This was our first review I believe, and doing our own lab testing wasn't part of our review process at that point.
There no backflow when pitcher is full?

Hi Twila, I bought two clearly water filters for the same reason. Florida is detrimental to our health and I heard Zero water does not filter fluoride.
I am so disappointed I had to send the pitchers and filters back. Not only did the seals fail during the priming process but the unfiltered water leaked through the seal into the filtered water compartment. Does your seal work properly on the filter?

This particular filter has been shown to INCREASE cobalt levels after filtration when another TH-camr had it lab tested. Now, cobalt is a part of vitamin B12 complex, which plays a massive role in the nervous system and neurological conditions. I can only guess that perhaps an elevated cobalt level may be interfering with vitamin B12 and thus your nervous system. It may be helpful to get your cobalt and B12 levels tested. I'm not sure how the antibiotics fit in the picture though. Not a doctor, just my self educated guess.

I guess filters just aren't ideal for anyone living in these areas. A water distiller seems to be the easiest way to go for me.
Same thing happened to me! We pay too much for this to be happening.
How do you know when it's time to change the filter?
You either count the number of gallons filtered or you take a rough estimate based on your daily water consumption or you change when the filtration speed goes down considerably or when the taste of the filtered water declines. But as a general rule it's always better to replace sooner than later to make sure that the filter you are using is still effective.

Yes!
Yea. It comes from the same source.
My concern is that mine filters fast, around 8 minutes. Customer service says 5 minutes is the minimum for effective filtering, but I have my doubts.

I'm not sure which part you mean. Could you provide a timestamp, please?
The raw water section will have dark "fines" from the filter media floating around or stuck to the base of the top raw water section.
How does this compare to a Berkeley & Brita?
Hey Michelle,
Thanks for your question.
Berkey is not NSF certified. And Clearly Filtered removes over 365 contaminants. Berkey, only around 225.
Cool video.... best filter made bar none...
What's the ppm test? The *most important* part of the test and review? Did she whiz it by so fast I missed it?
TDS is not a good parameter for measuring water quality except for certain cases like when you want to measure the salt rejection rate of your RO membrane. For example, if your water contains healthy amounts of calcium and magnesium that contributes to TDS, and the Clearly Filtered doesn't really remove these minerals.

did you flush the filter. the only thing in the water is carbon based filter so like charcoal or something similar. if not you may have gotten a bunk filter. maybe you didnt flush long enough

Can it only filter tap water? What about rain, stream, and pond water?
Sorry for the late reply. It seems like my original one didn't get posted. You want to make sure that the water is microbiologically safe. Also, overly dirty water will clog the filter in no time. So, pond and stream water are not a good idea. Rain water may be possible depending how you store it. Again, there should be any harmful germs in there.

Also, check this solution that they're providing in their FAQ section: help.clearlyfiltered.com/en-US/i-am-having-trouble-priming-my-filter--what-should-i-do-336518
I think "design nightmare" is a bit over the top to be honest.
Thanks for sharing!
Water takes less than 30 minutes to filter and I have really bad well water
@@lunkerpond9765 I must’ve got a defective product. Their support was not willing to help replace.

Which comment in particular?
If the pitcher isn’t glass I’m not buying it
You can pour it into a glass pit her after it filters. You don't have to store it in the plastic pitcher.
@@sarahs7253I never thought of that! Good point.
I store in a glass dispenser and do it often for a day and then it’s easy to keep up. But mainly bought it for my kids to fill their water hyrdoflask for school.
U talk t fast
You listen too slow
You can slow down video speed if you hit the 3 dots and change playback speed.
@@anonymousghost4695agreed! More efficient.
Everyone is different. However, listening ability comes first before speaking ability. It's a fact, and it comes mostly from North Americans, many speak too fast and don't enunciate properly as well. This has even been studied. This goes for listeners who are native-english speakers and non-english first language speakers. Read about it - N. Americans speaking has increased in speed but lost in clarity amd diction in the past decades. You can read about it, or just watch old tv clips anytime before the 80s.

Filter works really well but it the taste is not the greatest
Did you have any problems with filter priming? And what's the taste like?
