Also as others have pointed out, the anime has made it much clearer now Unohana's Bankai strictly heals allowing her to enjoy her fights longer if she finds them worthy for it. The "melting" was just her and Kenpachi experience one hell of a combat high.
Basically she's as sadistic as Kenpachi was masochistic.

Unohana's bankai IS NOT ACID. The anime showed what kubo meant in the manga. Since this is the only bankai that was never explained by the user as they are using it. He helps direct the anime. So we can consider as Canon. It is blood, it is bubbling because it is always producing blood. She can heal herself and other with that blood as well as attack and defend with it. She said that she learned healing, so she can keep fighting without holding back. So it stands to reason that her shikai and bankai have that capabilities as it usually develops with the innermost traits and desires of the user. She knew that she needed to die in order for Zaraki to become a full kenpachi and surpass her. She needed to unlock that on him due to him subconsciously limiting his own power. That is the reason why she is constantly putting him at the death's door and healing him and herself during that fight. The skeletons were just a metaphor because they are the embodiment of the death.
I like to think of her bankai as a bleed weapon (like the ones in Dark Souls), it can basically instantly slash trough flesh/reiatsu if she slashes enlough times and inflicts heavy bleeding wounds (regardless of if you block or wield a shield).
Ive said before, makes me wonder if they really pay attention or just regurgitate information.
"at deaths door" no she is actually killing him. And no the skeletons were both a physical representation and a metaphor. It can in fact be both. They were slashing away at each other so fast that they were tearing the flesh off each other while she was instantly healing each of them. Here attacks act as sort of a vampire effect. She deals damage and is healed the equivalent. Cause you never see her cover herself with the blood to heal, only zaraki.
Even though it isnt acid i think what abd meant is that the bankai itself as you said draws blood continuously from its user, so if this sword is given to any character who isnt adept at healing in such a manner as her... They wouldn't survive. Drained completely of their blood a husk of dried out skeleton practically melting their body. No matter how thick they are, they only have so much blood to give. Just ranking sword without user alone... Yeah abd is right.
@@CloyingPulchritudinous I'm not sure if you read a second comment I made in response to Holo TWW. I explained better what I meant in that comment. I think that the source of blood being produced in her bankai actually comes from the slained foes she killed throughout her life. She said in "I learned how to heal, so I could fight eternally". So, it stands to reason the her bankai is the ultimate result of her innermost desires. So, basically it would be something like this. She kills a lot of people trying to find someone worth fighting. When she finds that person, she can go all out and user her bankai, the blood produced from her bankai can attack, defend, and heal her. She destroy her oponent, and goes back to the same cycle. Kill, fight strong opponent, heal, kill, fight strong opponent and heal. Never-ending cycle, where she can fight eternally. That is my interpretation, which makes most sense to me. That is doable, since Yamamoto's bankai can literally raises ashes/skeletons from his dead oponents to fight for him. I don't think it is drawing from her blood, because it does not jive with her innermost desire and she would need constantly heal, which she would need to do with her kido, we don't see evidence of that in the anime nor manga, which it would be a green reatsu shown in her first stage of the fight. it would defeat the purpose of blood healing her automatically which was shown in the anime.
If only we got to see Aizen's Bankai...just once.

I'm curious how Kenpachi is able to handle his Bankai after the 10 year timeskip. My assumption is he has overcome the loss of mental sense, and the overwhelming power it has. And with that being the case it could allow his Bankai to be far superior to others on this list, maybe even second place after Ichibe's

Bankai evolve with practice and training, so with Kenpachi mastering his Bankai more thoroughly over time it could overcome the drawbacks and even increase its power to massive degrees. Maybe even allowing it to cut through anything even if it isn't a physical object or being. Obviously it can't be placed on the list as this is just hypothetical, but my comment was hypothetical to begin with. Just ideas of what it potentially could become over time
I think he’ll have much greater control. It might even look a bit different similar to how renji got access to his true power. I’m also curious what kenpachi’s shikai abilities are

If we’re ranking just Bankai and not the users, quick list off the top of my head and not super in depth analysis
1.) Mature Daiguren Hyorinmaru (Second largest raw stat boost in the series behind Tensa Zangetsu, broken abilities like conceptual power nullification that works on soul king level hax, freezing all forms of matter and energy, weather manipulation, miles of range)
2.) Ichimonji’s Bankai (forgot the name. This Bankai is only good if you used the Shikai though, if not it’s useless. Conceptual power rewriting or bull, but harder to use/more conditional than Hyorinmaru)
3.) Tensa Zangetsu (Largest stat boost in the series, insane raw power which in Bleach lets you override hax, and an unknown ability that is allegedly able to beat the Soul King amped Almighty, potentially fate manipulation/A blade with the strength to shatter fate)
4.) Zanka no Tachi- Highest firepower via hax and not raw power. Existence erasing flames, sun level heat armor etc. the first 3 Bankai can definitely counter this one at equal stats but most of not all others have a hard time or can’t deal with it
5.) Mayuri’s Bankai- It just adapts to whatever you do and makes a perfect counter, it’s kinda broken if you don’t one shot or negate it like the other 4 above can
6.) Rose’s Bankai- You hear it and you die. Unless you tell your opponent how it works and they’re crazy enough to destroy their eardrums
7.) Kyoraku’s Bankai- At equal stats it pretty much kills you at act 3 or 4, which can work against all the Bankai below it
8.) Urahara’s Bankai- Very strong and haxed but not unfairly broken due to the drawbacks like range or lack of killing ability
9.) Senbonzakura Kageyoshi- Very strong Bankai. Not very hax based but broken in terms of practical strength by numbers. 1000 blades in Shikai and 100 million blades in Bankai in the beginning of the series. After 0 Squad training, As Nodt who mastered the Bankai thought Byakuya’s Shikai was his Bankai
Which means the petals aren’t set and can increase with training. Defense mode, offense mode, Hakuteiken etc…broken
10.) Rukia’s Bankai- High Risk high reward. One shot kill if you land it’s AOE blast, but you die if you miss
Unohana's Bankai isn't acid. It's blood. It's not burning anything up. The "melting away" is a metaphor for being broken down to the basics. Near as I can tell, it's the Bankai healing her instead of her having to use Kaido to heal herself. We see the belly cut heal itself completely (even repairing her clothes), and then her face and shoulder cuts heal almost instantly offscreen. The blood slashes she launches also don't burn anything, but seem to cut instead.

I need the confirmation that Unohana's Bankai has anything to do with acid. Seeing as how their garb never deforms i have to imagine the skeleton visuals are merely thematic.

Plus not knowing his passed he never had his blade choose him, he pretty much was using Rukias with his own spiritual pressure so his own look. Add his knowledge of his soul make up, sword choosing him, mastering fullbringer, all that stacked onto his highest level vs Aizen is his true power level. Which omg i want to see! Old Ichigo was literally an ant in power level to Ichigo now. Add him mastering it.... He again will tower Leagues above even his current oceans x1000 deep depth of power level and awesome versatile raw power. Ultimate unbridled and unmatched. Mastered Ichigo I need to see.

My favorite bankai is hitsugaya. And my favorite captain. His talent plus hardwork. His like the next yamamoto since his a prodigy, have a sense of responsbility, leadership, hardworking, ver discipline and has one of the best zanpakuto in the series. Literally one of the only known zanpakutou that chooses its wielder like some ancient mystical power. Its just awesome and can even be expanded as a stand alone story itself.
Don't get the Renji slander, especially when Toshiro has taken more L's and Renji had the same amount of wins as Toshiro

Drawbacks included, zaraki's bankai is really detrimental to the user but if we factor in the user zaraki can be top 2 or 3 and ichigo may be able to steal top 1 if his bankai plus fusion of his multiple powers unless he got touched by ichibei or genryusai but against zaraki, both with mastered powers, he will slap him with his blade

From a SEVERED HEAD Ichibei was able to instruct Ichigo on how to create a NEW BODY for him
I don't recall it being said anywhere that Shunsui's Bankai had no power gap and can work on someone indefinitely stronger than Shunsui. It worked on Lille Barro because people overhype and overrate Lille. Lille was not exponentially stronger than Shunsui, he had an ability that made him intangible... That was it. Furthermore he laments that Shunsui forced him to use that ability so many times and even then he still had to adjust and avoid Shunsui's attacks. If minus that ability, Shunsui and Lille were evenly matched in terms of strength and that was just Shunsui using Shikai. Shunsui used Bankai because his Bankai negated Lille's intangibility while his Shikai could not. Aizen stated that overwhelming Reiatsu can crush any ability, if not Hisagi would be the most broken character in Bleach with his Bankai.

Of tite and/or editors etc, her Bankai was being in a never ending pool of blood that Uno Hana can use to heal either HER, or even her opponent of every slice or cut they have taken, so that way Uno Hana can enjoy the battle for as long ass possible by always basicallt being in a never ending pool of healing blood, for herself or her opponent. Unohana loved fighting so much she never wanted it to ever end basically. She healed herself in the fight on her stomach that zaraki had cut

It seems she turns into some true skeletal death reaper while in bankai as it melts away her opponents slowly while using the blood for both offense and defense. She learned healing kido bc she's so op she wanted her battles to last longer so she would heal her opponents or herself, it's a never ending battle if she wills it. Her bankai translates to end of all things. She's known as the creator of death itself. Knowing 8000 sword styles which is every single way of fighting known in Bleach. The first Kenpachi.

Nah man Unohana is using blood, possibly the blood of her victims, not acid. Them becoming skeletons in their fight was just figurative, if anything it seemed like her bankai auto healed minor wounds.
It literally uses acid, you’re taking zarakis pov when he himself didn’t even know he was being killed multiple times and was calling it blacking out.
All the bankai shown follow a specific pattern, unohanas isn’t different.
@@theoneaboveallothers There are bankais that don't have to do anything with their shikai. Also he didn't say he blacked out when she had her bankai activated and when he touched the blood or fell face first into it, it didn't harm him at all. A nice indicator that it's actually blood is the way she activates it by cutting her hand, this wasn't shown in the manga and since everybody wondered if it was acid or blood they cleared things uo by this little sequence. Plus if they were both being reduced to skeletons there would be no way for either of them to revive the other, not even Orihime would be able to bring them back in this state. I mean in the end Unohana simply died off a stab through the chest and didn't even try to heal it.

I think ichigos bankai is terrifyingly broken. Ywach not only could see the future but alter it. He wanted to take absolutely no chances with Ichigos bankai whatsoever not only once but twice due to it potent ability to deal signifiant damage.
We really don't know anything about Ichigo's Bankai. But out of all the Bankai and shinigami Ywach has Faced, only Ichigo's Bankai terrified Ywach.
Kubo plans to explore adult Ichigo further in the new Arc he is currently writing called "Breathe of Hell" arc.

"strongest" in terms of raw reiatsu/physical strength. Multiple of the other captains beat him simply because they are bad match ups for him. Kyoraku, Yamamoto, etc.

There is no definitive on what Unahana's Bankai does. If it actually melted someone then Zaraki would have died from that effect no matter how strong he is. Its more likely its something far more subtle than it just melting people.
It's not melting. It's not acid. That theory doesn't exist anymore. It's not 100% confirmed how her bankai works but it's pretty much figured out.
It's basic blood manipulation and her slashes heal her for the amount of damage she does to the enemy (shown by when she attacks zaraki she instantly heals the cut to her abdomen) and the blood itself also has healing properties which she uses to heal zaraki during their fight.
She can also use the blood as a weapon for long range attacks as well as a sort of short range barrier/attack.

Rukias Bankai should be in here, better than some of these. All she needs to do is activate it, and it’s instant death for all enemies in the radius. Absolute zero temperature in her zone, completely neutralizes all threats instantly.
It's draw back is too high though. She can literally die from it if she's not careful. We never see her really be able to control this part of it.
And even if she doesn't die she is still stuck there for however long it takes to warm back up allowing literally anyone who wasn't killed by the initial attack to kill her anyways.
Now assuming she masters it and has little to no risk of self doom and has a very VERY small window of being frozen in place, yeah it could be on this list for sure.

@@skreyao4898 she doesn’t need to move. The Bankai insta-kills her enemies, more or less, upon activation. She just has to thaw herself slowly afterwards and she’s golden.
As Nodt has strong Blut Vene, he tanked Senbonzakura with it. So it shows her Bankai insta kills enemies with very high defence.
For the future please correct Captain Commander Zanka no Tachi Bankai powers, you have East and West mixed up.

And yet there was a shikai that beats them all... Aizen's. We don't even know his Bankai, but his Shikai release instantly defeats everyone who see it (that aren't immune to it). Also leaving out the two confirmed Kenpachi's Bankai, one of which was outlawed from being released in the Seritai, and the other that makes him basically invincible being able to merge with anything and control/change it.
It's funny when you realise that except for the final blow ichigo and aizen were fighting yhwach with their shikai.

My guess at what would be most dangerous potential aspect about Ichigo's true complete Bankai would be the mix of hollow and quincy abilities working together would result in effectively infinite stamina by the quincy half pulling in feeding ambient spiritual power into the the user via the hollow half for near/outright instantaneous recovery of spent energy if not gradually amplifying all abilities over time while in use, including Ichigo's Blut increasing Ichigo's durability as he fights.
TLDR: Ichigo's true bankai could make sense to be function like a continuously accelerating perpetual motion machine passively increasing his stats infinitely and maybe even exponentially as long as he has it active at no cost.

Shenji's Bankai and Aizens Bankai should have easily been ranked in top 5. Bot literally making it impossible for you to fight unless your intelligence is OVER 9000. As well as Rukia's time skip Bankai, should have been in the lower ranks, but still top 10 for versatility.
Uhh how are they supposed to rank aizens bankai when theres not one information to rank it ?. and their intelligence has nothing to do with their bankais power abilities and drawbacks.
