    I have the medium steel dweller stove I use in my van. Works quite well and I appreciate that I can go to a gas station and just grab a bundle of wood and never had a problem with the length of wood fitting in the stove. Just break larger pieces into slightly larger than kindling size and it works great. And the window of the stove I think is nicer than something like the cubic mini wood stove. Cheers

    For a lightweight camping trip, the smaller one will be the obvious choice. But I love the medium one of the three of them.

    Lonewolf, I assume you are in contact with the manufacturer. If so, please tell them that the Medium design might be improved and more attractive to campers, if the stove's top had a slightly different design, to make it better suited for putting a skillet or frying pan on top of the stove. Perhaps they could offer an optional top, that would have the stove pipe jack to one side (as shown on the small stove), and with handles that fold down from the sides or up from the sides (so they do not have to be removed and do not stick up as shown now), which would make the top of the stove more open and more space for putting a frying pan (skillet) etc. They could potentially sell this "cook top" as an upgrade, or a new model or as an option to replace currently owned units.

    What a fantastic comparison video Lonewolf. If you have any developmental influence with the manufacturer, could you ask them to please make the stove pipes fit into each other like On the large size? I’d love to have the medium size, but only have access to Pine and the creosote would make a mess running down the pipe with a medium stove pipe fits together. Thanks for the awesome videos, me and the kids love watching them.

    Lonewolf, this was an excellent review and demonstration video! You anticipated many questions, pointed out the good features, and did a very fair side by side comparison that we could all watch. After watching a few of your Hot Tent videos, I am impressed by your presentation skills (which are perfect) and your camping skills. I like what you pointed out in this particular video and HOW you showed everything working.
    One suggestion for a future video: while you showed the hot water kettle on top of the stoves, I would like to see how a skillet would fit up there (assuming one removes the handles on top). So, if you got a few skillets or pans and put them on top, you could show comparisons of how a 6" or 8" or 10" would fit or not fit safely on top for cooking. I am particularly interested in the medium sized stove (that you use in your truck).

  • @HubiD

    I bought the small one the minute it came out. Haven’t gotten around to try it out. Keep in mind that the stove pipe isn’t nearly as long as needed for a tent like the stove hut 70 from Pomoly. It’s only 10cm higher than the tent. So you might want to spent the 48$ for the extra pipe sections. Yes, it’s the same stove pipe as the medium version, but they give you less pipe sections since you can’t fit as many inside the stove like with the medium one. Love the design but keep in mind it’s a tiny tiny stove.

    • @neverbow5943
      @neverbow5943 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there, I torn between the medium stove and the mini one that you purchased. The mini is stainless steel and Im worried that the stove will begin to lose its color. The way the stove looks overtime matters to me. Titanium burns blue.. do you know what color the stainless steel will burn?

    Was hoping a larger size when Pomoly first launch the Dweller. Bought a Dweller Max right away after this video launch, received within 2 days from Jacksonville Florida warehouse. Packaging box got really beat up from the shipping but this stove built like a tank (30+ lbs) and not a single damage or dent, money well spend.......Thank you !!!

    The stove pipe placement on the larger two stoves seems to really limit the ability to use a skillet on top for cooking.

      Camping skillets typically have a narrower diameter.

  • @VeganAJohnH
    @VeganAJohnH 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    They all look good & do the job. The two larger ones look like they mite need to be in a more permanent position. But the littler one looks more flexible. You could probably build a rack to carry that on your quad & dirt bike. You could even put supplies or wood in the pipes to get the full use out of the burner compartment, if you could get compressed wood the diameter of the pipes to just slide out, if you was going a place with no wood or you couldn't get any dry wood. The smallest one is the one I would probably choose. The bigger one will always need more wood to heat at the top for cooking I think, that's fine if there is a lot of dry wood accessible. I guess it depends where your going & what you can carry. Either way you got yourself three fine stoves & some good equipment. I enjoy watching your videos. Thankyou 👍.

    Thanks, that was really informative. That smallest stove would work well in a vestibule, say 2 man tent. However, I'm interested in truck camping, so either the medium or small would work well. Again, great video thx.

    Hey what's going on Lonewolf? Hope you are well. Just finished a video and mentioned you in it. I was after another stove you did a review on earlier in the year but they are on backorder. However when this one came up I jumped on it. I actually ordered and within a few days received the Dweller Max Tent Stove. Cant wait to use it in my upcoming overland travels, I will for sure be visiting Canada as well. Thanks to you I also purchased the STOVEHUT TC Chimney Shelter (tent). Nice review of the stoves, i was after one for hot tenting but getting one in the UK was difficult (all out of stock when i was looking) ended up getting stainless one from a UK source (which works amazing). I notice you have one of Camping Together's Mjolnir stoves there as well, how do you find that? I was impressed by it's flat packing and the extra lid he made to turn it from an open firepit to an enclosed stove.

    Hello Lonewolf, another nice review this time of the Dweller series!
    I’m wondering, as pictures how this is done cannot be found anywhere online as far as I know, how are the carrying bars on the Titanium Dweller mounted to the fire box?
    You mentioned in this video that the top lid of the Titanium version is riveted instead of bolted on the fire box, but I’m interested how this is actually done and if there is another way to get rid of the handle (instead of cutting them off) in order to get a small stove on the cooking area, because that would be a great addition to this design.
    Would it be possible to share a picture of the inside of the Titanium firebox how this is been done?
    That would really be great! Thank you in advance, kind regards Jeroen

    Can you tell me the recommended side, back front under and over clearances to combustible and non combustible materials?
    It seems to me that would be one of the first thing a responsible woodstove manufacturer would publish. I can't seem to find that informationanywhere,,,...?
    I know that for permanent residential installations the info is clearly stated, sometimes right on the data plate riveted to the back of the stove. I realize that for in tents , rvs, or boats the same regulations may not apply, but that doesn't mean a manufacturer can't go the extra mile and go beyond what is required.

    Would like to see how you use a small stove in a tent or truck

    Completely unrelated to this video but it's a question that's been bugging me for awhile... why do you wear work boots into the woods all the time? Especially in winter. Always wondered how your toes don't freeze in them. I wear the same boots as you (the timberland pro series) but I wear them only for work. Comfortable and fairly warm, but not THAT warm nor THAT comfortable.
    Have you ever tried dedicated winter boots? I'm a Baffin guy through and through as far as winter footwear goes for winter camping. Gimme my -100C boots please.
