I have this same stove and have to say that the wood time varies considerably due to many elements. If you have smaller or medium sized pieces of wood going at a good burn and create a good ember bed and then want to put a larger piece on for more duration, the transition time for it to light and get hot again can be quite great. We used this stove a couple of times after backpacking into remote areas in colder climates, rain and snow, and there really was no dry wood available, we had to find already downed wood that looked like it had been seasoned a bit and it still was a bit moist on the outside, we were able to make this work but this also affected our burn times and such. We only had access to pine and birch which aren't the densest of woods and on average for a good constant burn to keep up warm in near freezing conditions we were only able to get around a maximum of 30 min burn time. For me this was the biggest draw back as being in a hunting and foraging mode we are expending a lot of energy and wanting a good nights sleep. I do understand that it is a pretty small stove and burn times will be low, but my sleeping schedule was thrown off quite a bit having to tend the fire every 30 minutes or so. This can be different when you bring already seasoned high quality wood to your camp but in realistic backpacking situations i found the weight of my hot tent and wood stove would have been better spent in some 0 degree gear for sleeping a bit more comfortably. Anyone have a similar occurrence to this?
Great comparison. I saw an old timer demonstrate a great stove glass cleaning technique. He took a damp paper towel, dabbed it in the ashes and then wiped it on the glass, the ash has a mild abrasive effect and cleaned it up real easy 👍🏽🙏🏽
Great review. I've just ordered the mini as my first tent stove to go with the Pomoly Locomotive 20 tent I've also ordered. I can't wait for winter now! 😁
Ok so I bought the 3W stove from Luxe a while back and admittedly, I like it. BUT it is a royal pain to set up and it’s really frustrating at times to use. I just bought the T1 Mini and it arrived today and there are four immense quality differences in seeing in the T1: It is hinged so I don’t have to fit heat warped panels together, the damper is a singular unit that is rigid and strong (my other isn’t strong and causes the chimney to flex and bend), the spark arrester is a chimney cap that I can attach guy lines to for added stability, and the thicker titanium will definitely translate to less warped panels. I’m soooooo excited to use this thing. Truthfully, I’ll prob order the actual pipes so I dont have to roll out the chimney but that’s not a huge priority. One tip I’ll share for people getting into hot tents: I’ve started using those grocery store Duraflame logs in my stove for overnight heat because they burn for a really long time. I can usually get a comfortable nights sleep by burning two Duraflame logs that last 3-4 hours depending on the setting I keep the damper and air flow on. Definitely see the quality here!!!!!!!
Love this review, really informative & helpful. I want to start hot tent camping & you've helped me decide which stove to go for, now just gotta decide on a tent!. Now I'm off to watch your other videos on how to start hot temp camping. Thanks for all the info xx
The mini is really nice. There's only one place I go where I may prefer the T-1 Original, because I've had the temperature go from frigid, to completely inhospitable. I still believe the mini would suffice, as long as I had plenty of wood processed, and ready to go. Great review, thanks for the video. Stay safe out there and God bless!
We don't see temps low enough where I am for the T1, but that mini... will be perfect. I've been waiting for someone to make a little titanium stove. Excellent review, I always look forward to your videos. Keep it up, stay safe.
Titanium is robust and very light weight, also a little expensive, but well worth it.. lasts a lot longer than normal metals.. the T1 Mini is great, i do like the T1 also.. i guess it depends on your usage and for how many people... Thank you a very good Demonstration.. 👍
Just ordered this 5 minutes ago. Wish I had it last Friday. These Fastfold stoves are going to drive the other stoves, which require assembly with wing nuts and washers, and legs that you have to insert, out of the market
Great stove. I’m considering a smaller stove because of my small tent. Lonnie at Far North Bushcraft and Survival is a old timer with a lot of experience. I’ve seen him clean the glass with warm water and ash from the stove. The ash is a mild abrasive that works with warm water on a cloth or paper towel to clean without scratching. Good for you getting to test these products and thanks for the info
can and will you ever do a video explaining the different woods used for burning ??? what burns best to what burns longest to should you keep or remove bark etc??? would love to know this info plus would like to have some kind of mini chart i could use and take with me on a camp trip... maybe go so far as pictures of hard wood comes from this tree and so on, to what to expect depending on different locations, PS - am hooked on your videos, with every thing going on around the World these days i can honestly say YOU SIR are a breath of fresh air !!! A nice alternative to the other Ti stoves out there. It's engineered well, its a knockdown stove (which in itself is novel for Ti stoves). If I didn't already have 2 stoves, I'd be sorely tempted to purchase this one but for the $525 CDN price tag.
Lovely Littlish tent stove. I guess that unless it's way below freezing or you have a very large tent this would suffice most people. An aside, I thought Canada was Metric.
Nice little stove Jeremy! that would be great for the smaller hot tents , like you said. Can't afford one right now, but would like to have both of those stoves. Great review, thanks.👍
@@Lonewolfwildcamping yeah, me too! Been wanting to do hot tenting for several years now. I have a weekend trip planned in a couple weeks . Bring on the cold 🥶!!
"Smaller hot tents"? This stove can heat a tent for 12 people in the extreme cold of -30º C. It is similar to the stove used by the unfortunate Russian hikers of the famous Dyatlov pass. The difference is that it is much lighter and more modern as it is made of titanium and glazed. In a confined area of a tent, heat builds up.
just ordered the mini! thanks for the always reliable info. I probably would have cost myself some gear or injury without the knowledge from past videos.
Thanks, the hex plus is a very large tent for this to hear during winter. It would work well in the fall but I would suggest a larger stove for winter time

Just a thought. Might just pull the trigger on this to use in My polish lavvu.
Lonewolf 902 An old stove glass cleaning trick is to wet a paper towel and damp into some of the ash of the fire, then wipe the glass everything will come right off right away with very little effort, I think it's the lye in the ash that acts like a cleaner, don't ever do while hot or could crack the glass!
I agree, I use this method often. Just wanted to share an easy way for new stove owners to clean the glass. I do really love the window for ambient light 🔥🤙😁
I’d like to add that ash is also a good cleaner for cookware soot! Even dry ash will clean really well! So, don’t use Brillo or other scratching materials to clean up... just use ash & maybe a Scotch pad!
That mini stove would be just the ticket for the smaller OneTigris Tipis and the smaller Pomoly shelters that you have. No need taking a bigger stove than you need for the conditions. Granted you can always build a smaller fire in the larger stove, but really, who is going to be mindful to do that.
Excellent review my friend. You answered every question I had and then some. One question. Can I get an extra glass paneled side. Purely for ambiance, but it would create even more heat and provide a comforting light at the same time. Is that do able?
I am wondering if one could coat the glass with layer of brown soap, we used to do that with the outside of the pots before putting them on the fire when I was a kid. Made cleaning a cinch or at least a lot easier.
@@Lonewolfwildcamping Sure I did, thank you! Now I need to decide which hot stove to choose with the Hex Solo tent. I guess T1 mini is the best pick, but I am not sure which one and if with 3 windows would help to shine the tent and you basically won't need no or very little light, because I don't see other advantage. Also T1 MIni 3 is also out of stock right now. I am going to do my first purchase from Pomoly, but I am already decided to buy it from them, these tents and stoves look to be very good quality also thx to your reviews ;)

Excellent review. Was doubting between medium and small size. Mini definitely wins for me. I'd say, closer down better to keep the heat in the stove? Thanks!
Just ordered my Pomoly Mini. Also if you’re in NS I live in Truro. I fly fish and also prospect gold in my spare time - And now, hiking/camping is taking over for me haha. Your product education has had a huge impact on me. Due to your videos I have bought a T- Brick Max and a Yarn Plus tent. I tested this gear in the Cascade mountains last week. It preformed flawlessly. Even with two full nights of rain. I did notice the weight of the T-Brick max it too heavy for solo hiking (ok for 2 or 3 people). I decided to get a T-1 mini (2021). Do you have a link comparing the T-1 mini vs. with your TIMBER Wolf mini stove? I see slight differences. but still lack knowledge on this purchase. Thanks
hi, thanks for sharing . just thinking to use in really low temperatures , any option to purchase a spare glass made specifically to the mini stove? i would like to have another one if it brokes
Did you use the T1 Mini with Smokey Hut? I am thinking the T1 Mini will be the right hot tent stove for me. Questions: How cold outside? too hot inside? how long did it burn after damping down?
Does the T1 mini put off enough heat to sit by in the open as a "fire pit"? I like the small size for a lavvu hot tent and maybe for sitting next to outside at home, but am tempted toward the T1 to double as a grill.
Just ordered mini stove. Thank you for review and videos. I would like to order a nested stove pipe set for easy setup. Have you ever tried this route?
Hi ! thanks for sharing . Same opinion here! I think the T1 Mini is going to be my choice, but i dont like that pipe, looks flimsy and weak... Just thinking about purchasing a nested/nesting pipe , i would weight a bit more but i want something more stable and sturdy that wouldn´t fail , bend or collapse due to the wind, tansport or an accident... Also similar packed size (just a bit more weight ) but not rolling needed. Now, i´m just looking for that nested/nesting pipes at the same diameter at the base and 30 cm in lenght sections aprox. I apreciate any info or help to find that pipe. I´m now in Europe. Happy to find someone with the same idea or point of view!
What part of the world do you live mate? Seems like you always find nice spots. I camp on Dartmoor in the uk but over the pond you seem to have vast places of nature!
Hello sir. Thank you for your informative videos. I'm trying to figure out between the T1 FLAME or the T1 Mini which one is going to pair better with the Nortent Gamme 4. Any thoughts/suggestions? Primary use will be for Wilderness camping sleeping 2-3 people in the Gamme 4
@@LonewolfwildcampingThank you for sharing your knowledge and experience on this platform. Would you share the circumstances when you personally have used the guy-outs on the spark arrestor on top of a 2-meter stove pipe when the stove jack is 60 inches up?
Hi , I have a slide on truck camper with slide out room, I'm was watching you video with you truck camper, I have a space 24" by 10" to fit a fireplace, would that Pomoly Dweller wood stove be a good choice for that application ? I wouldn't have much clearance in the back
What would you say is the longevity of these lightweight stoves, I am known to go winter camping for months at a time,(9 months once), Would this do well for an entire Canadian winter?
Are the 4.6 pound (2.1kg) the stove weight 'only' or does that include bag & gloves? In other words: how much weight will bringing the stove and what is needed to operate it add to my backpack?

I bought the T1 Mini, and couldn't keep the guy lines from pulling the spark arrestor all the way down onto the top of the pipe, so the smoke couldn't escape. How do you prevent that from happening?
Can't decide between the T1 Mini 3 and the T-Brick Mini, however I am a bit concerned about the cooking ability, with these stoves not having a removable plate. Your water was not boiling.
Depends on wood type and how hot you need it and damper setting. 2 really big pieces of dense oak will keep my 2 person tent hot for 2.5 hours at -10⁰c before I need to add wood

Happy to find someone with the same idea or point of view!
when you fully load it, will it last all night without needing to be topped up?
No
I’d like to know if the mini will support the side shelves?... it did not appear to have the brackets for that.
Currently no, but it may be a future upgrade
What part of the world do you live mate? Seems like you always find nice spots. I camp on Dartmoor in the uk but over the pond you seem to have vast places of nature!
I'm in Canada 🤙🇨🇦
Great informational video my friend.
Thank you
You definitely need a large t1, the mini is too small for that size tent
Great Info
Thank you
Could you stack the smaller one above the large one as a secondary burner ?
Thank you for the great review . Would this be safe in an enclosed area or does it leak to much smoke ?
Are the 4.6 pound (2.1kg) the stove weight 'only' or does that include bag & gloves?
In other words: how much weight will bringing the stove and what is needed to operate it add to my backpack?
4.6 lbs is the stove and everything you need to operate the stove. The gloves and bag are extra weight. I don't use gloves and the bag is not heavy
Lonewolf 902 merci!
👍
Exactly what I was hoping for in a review. Answered all my questions and more. Thank you.
Awsome, glad I could help
Is there a distributor in UK? 🇬🇧
Importing price makes them really expensive.
Import taxes are $30
@@Lonewolfwildcamping I’d love one but it makes price £400 ish 😮
Titanium stoves are expensive but well worth the investment
Do you think the mini could throw enough heat to warm up a Gamme 4 tent ?
Yesterday, it works but it needs to be fed often

I bought the T1 Mini, and couldn't keep the guy lines from pulling the spark arrestor all the way down onto the top of the pipe, so the smoke couldn't escape. How do you prevent that from happening?
Can't decide between the T1 Mini 3 and the T-Brick Mini, however I am a bit concerned about the cooking ability, with these stoves not having a removable plate. Your water was not boiling.
Awesome tattoos my friend also
Thank you 🤙😃🐺
Would this heat the Pen poly tent enough? I’d like to save money but extra £100 for a bigger hotter seems to make sense...
It would but I recommend a larger stove for extreme cold temps
Can I cook with a pan on top of this stove?
Yes, absolutely
@@Lonewolfwildcamping that sounds perfect❤️
Very good my friend
Thanks 👍
How long will it burn before you have to throw a log in? Every hour?
Depends on wood type and how hot you need it and damper setting. 2 really big pieces of dense oak will keep my 2 person tent hot for 2.5 hours at -10⁰c before I need to add wood
