I would like you see a patterning bourd with a 30" circle and shot with the 1 1/8 oz air gun bb load with longshot powder shot on 30 and 40 yards and with with both modified and full choke and see how good the load can handle those conditions.
@@gregc247 Load data from Status of Steel. I have been told federal hulls are the same as cheddite hulls. You will have to make your own decision regarding that.
Try the same federal hull with the MG42, 1 oz of BBs and 32gr of LS and see what you think, should be lower 1400 speed. You can go up more grains on the LS but I've found the wad start to wear through a little at charge weights that are higher...I haven't tried any mylar wrap though.
That winchester factory load looks like a really good one I would take one of those apart to see if you could mimic it When it comes to steel that's what you need is high speed
It was a pretty good. I am sure all factory steel loads use Alliant Steel powder. I was finally able to get some Alliant steel and am getting good speeds and patterns.

Where was the original published data for these? Using gold medal data?

I have tested that load and pattern is really good. Was then trying to find an 1 1/8 oz load also. Longshot does work well with steel shot.

How does the mg42 wads after firing with size bb
There is very little wear through. There are definitely better wads for steel.
