This makes so much sense now! I used to wonder why exactly this system was better….knowing what is oldest is game changing and makes perfect logic. Thank you so much for explaining this so well! Now I actually want to do mine this way!
So glad I watched your videos before I started eBay, I can easily see and pull old items and have not lost an item in inventory in over a year. I used plastic totes, but I need to get shelves and boxes once I get fulltime.
Thanks for this video Chris! Although I’m not thanking you for the storage part lol but rather I finally saw your picture station and realized it’s lifted. So I just changed my setup to my bed and using a gray background. Game changer! Was able to do 14 sets of photos in 20mins 😆 this momma needed it as I’m 6 weeks postpartum and chasing a 3 year old around. Having 2 kids is teaching me how to do eBay the fastest!!
@@stephanienoble2926 yes but no one can tell it’s my bed. I have a queen size and I bought fabric that’s gray to lay over my bed. I was taking pictures on a vertical flat lay and then tried the floor but the floor was hard on back. So I switched to the bed and it’s way faster for taking photos
Thanks for all of your great content! Do you find that 10x13 poly mailers handle all of your types of clothing? Also, is your unit temperature controlled? I'm expanding into using my non temp controlled shed, but worry about mold if kept in plastic bags.
Chris, I'm trying to buy the Plymor 12" x 15" shipping bags on your Amazon store. I only want the 100 count and it takes me to the Plymor store, so hopefully you still get a commission for that. I would suggest putting your link to your Amazon store in your description box on TH-cam because I kept having to go to your website, and then trying to find your supply link. It was actually kind of hard to find. Just a suggestion. Thanks for all your great advice.
I sell jewelry and have bins and bins and boxes and boxes (and it goes on) and not so great at organizing, losing stuff, etc. I have over 300 pieces of jewelry on eBay, Mercari and over 500 on Poshmark. I should probably start doing something like this. I do like the fact that they are already packed (I have special bags for my jewelry) and that way everything stays clean and doesn't get damaged. I just wouldn't have time to do what I have already online. This is great information!
Hi Chris! Thank you for everything you provide to the reselling community. I want a store consisting of 3000 items which will be clothing. From your experience, how many shelves and boxes would I need (estimate)?
I use totes and refill and mark down any leftovers when i got to refill them every 6 months or so. This saves me time as i hold another job until i am making double my work income.
I am trying sequential numbering for books, because it's important not to misplace things. But although it's all one category, the issue is all the different sizes (plus the weight). Small and large in one box would not really work and is a waste of space too. Think I'll have a separate shelf at the bottom for large ones. Date-based still sounds best, rather than randomly filling in gaps and losing things.
@@jodiegrace2849 - thanks, yes I have watched her videos and got some insight. I still want a sequential numbering system, rather than filling in gaps on shelves. That way old stock will always be at the start.
so if you add the number/bag the item AFTER you list it at what point do you enter the custom SKU, do you go back and update your listing with it? That seems sort of inefficient.
But this way you have to use so many stickers? And do you ship with these plastic bags or reuse it? I like your previous system without infinity numbers
Your system is a good idea, but I am thinking of using plastic bins instead of cardboard boxes. I sell a lot of toys and giftware what idea or way do you think I should organize and store it. Thanks so much for the tips.
I have actually made this mistake so it is possible. When the sku in eBay gets typed wrong or if you sell similar and forget to change the sku in the system.
@@dailyrefinement That helps! but id still be worried. For me, this system combined with thematic storage would make sense, so if I miss-number I know roughly where it is due to what type of item it is.
Thanks for the great videos. I looked for you on Poshmark I didn't find you. What is your Poshname name? Also, Will you be going to Phonex this month? I also live in Ca. and would like to meet you. It will be my first Conference and I'm looking forward to it.
Are your shelves 24'' deep? My shelves are 14'' deep, so I'm trying to decide on the optimal length of boxes (for clothing). I'm thinking I'll start with a batch of 28'' long boxes and see how those do. I'd love to go 30'', but I am already nervous if 28'' will sag too much. Anyhow, thanks for sharing!
Good thing I didn’t drop the money on the clothes racks you recommended but now I’m afraid if I get the storage shelves you’ll start recommending something else lol

The best storage method in the game right there!
Thanks for all the specifics, Chris!❤ very considerate!

Your presentation is so appreciated. Just reopened my store today after a long period of time. This system is just excellent. Many thanks.

Hello Chris.
Excellent! 👌

SOOO DOPE! Thanks for the great tips! I'll try this with my inventory system :)
Great info ! Where do you put your number for the item ? on the listing or on a spreadsheet?
You are the best, thank you

Chris, once an item sells, do you ship it in the plastic package with your sku label or remove it from the bag first?
I use totes and refill and mark down any leftovers when i got to refill them every 6 months or so. This saves me time as i hold another job until i am making double my work income.
Hello Chris , what would you recommend if I had over 3,000 items already in inventory, do you suggest I go back and label from scratch

Love your video and has always been a fan. Just want to ask how to label same item with multiple quantities.
The same numba!
Some people use the same number, but I don’t
Hey Chris glad to see you back at it again. You did nothing wrong several months back
Your system is a good idea, but I am thinking of using plastic bins instead of cardboard boxes. I sell a lot of toys and giftware what idea or way do you think I should organize and store it. Thanks so much for the tips.
That's a great idea! You're very welcome!
Nice
What are the lights that you are using in this video
Why would you not reuse a SKU #?
Hello!
What is your most up to date posh mark closet so I can purchase an item from you, please and thank you!
@resellernirvana
EBay has removed one of lists but it has been sold so should I deliver it to the buyer and if I do it would I get paid
The problem is if you enter an extra digit, or miss one, by accident, you will never find the item.
You make the labels first, so you wouldn’t make that mistake. You’d catch it during photos or listing or putting it away. 3x to catch any errors
Thats why your last picture should be a pic of the sku label on the bag
Where can I get that measurement ruler?
