The extra info on adjusting tensioners was super helpful. I've never seen a Throne dropout that close up before. Looks like they really thought about that in the R&D phase. Good stuff!
Will that same tool take of the stock SE 15T freewheel? The notice the tool is a 4 prong and the SE freewheel looks like it has 8 indentions on it to grab onto.
I have a 27.5 bike with disc brakes how would I put a new freewheel on because I'm putting a 17 teeth freewheel on my bike and it has a 16 th could you explain
Are free wheels universal fit I need one for my fat ripper but idk if I can just get any freewheel I know it’s a 14t but is there any measurements I need to know?
I would like to replace my freewheel on my GT Performer 29. It currently has a 16T and I was going to replace with a 16T ROS...my friend suggested an 18T instead...can you give me the pros and cons of going 18T vs 16T? Thanks!🤙🏽
It’s probably the throne fixed flip flop hub which is a cassette and the freewheel mech is built into the hub so you can’t change it since it’s only a cog and not a separate gear you can remove. The only option I’ve seen to keep the stock rim/disc brake setup is the profile beast mode which is almost the cost of the whole bike once u get the wheel built
I guess throne switched to the flip flop cassette hub when they switched to disc brakes… I’d MUCH rather have v brakes and a freewheel I can swap out. Sitting here with the only option for quicker engagement being a profile beast mode hub/wheel build. Ridiculous
I bought a ros freewheel and I just found out that my throne doesn’t have a freewheel it has a cog type freewheel does anyone know what disc brake wheels with a freewheel work on 29 inch throne
My man changed a freewheel, in less time then a back rim alignment.🤣 Hope my kids Blocks goes this smooth. He rides a duro now but with all these kids looking for bikes out here in philly, it really drives me nutts when ppl have 2 or 3 in the garage that just need $20 an about an hours labour to let some other kid hit the streets on it. And unfortunately right now... I'm one of them dudes. Dont be that dude. 🤣😂🤣 Free the bikes! their not for collecting! Our 3 or 4 bike stores stay sold out of SE's & anything similar. The used bike market around here is straight silly af. Guys add new grips and spoke skins and want retail plus 20% to sell it.🤣 They'll find out when the next new bike wave hits & they got a bike collection that ain't worth the air in the tubes. Ride the dam bikes or hook the kids up with em bro.
Thanks man haha! And good luck on the blocks flyer 💯👊. Things are a little different here on the West Coast most of the people I know that have a garage full of bikes let other people ride them. Granted they don’t typically let just direct strangers ride them but people from the community for sure 🦾🏆. Hopefully the bike market changes soon and it won’t be so hard to get them.
Which size fits on the goon? 3/32 or the 1/8? And do u recommend going a 17T freewheel with the stock 39T in the front? Thinking bout making some changes but very new to the process. Would I have to also get a bigger chain?
Yeah 17t with the stock 39t will make a noticeable difference. And yes you will need to buy a new chain. Chain comes with master link so you can resize to whatever length you need 👍🏻
So would it work on a big ripper too since they’re both 15t? Cuz I have to replace the freewheel on my bike but I can’t find any removers that would work
I’m running 33t up front and 16t in the rear on my goons. That’s the most common wheelie gearing. I’ve run 37t/18t before which is harder to get the wheel up but you can wheelie hella fast.
@@UrbanMisfit With that gear ratio of 33t/16t are you still able to have good top speed. Also if your not really into doing too much wheelies. Can you go with a 33t/17t. Would that gear ratio still be good to get wheelies up and have good top speed?
33/16 still has good top speed. I never struggle staying in the front of the pack. And 33/17 has less top speed. Easier to wheelie though. Almost too easy in my opinion.
@@UrbanMisfit Thank you for that info bro! Also what brand of cranksets and chainring do you reccomend that are top notch for the goon? I was thinking of buying the box hollow three crankset but the lowest chainring they have for that set is a 38t.
No problem 🤘🏻. My suggestion would be to go with BMX cranks. Way more options as far as gearing goes. There’s maybe two companies that make a 33t chain ring. I don’t know what they cost but probably not cheap lol

Makes maintaining the back wheel/brakes a breeze 💯
Thank you for posting this. Super helpful and well filmed. I appreciate it.
Thanks for the feedback 🙏🏻💯🤘🏻
I put that freewheel on and holy crap it’s smooth and loud. Thanks for the tips
Can you drop the link for the freewheel?
Yup. Looking forward to this one too. I'm embarrassed to admit I've never done this myself even though I love to mess with my gearing all the time.
Makes a huge difference with the special tools haha. ive done this with a flat head driver before......not so pretty haha
@@UrbanMisfit My guy! That's OG right there.
Clean the threads and re grease G , id change the whole drive train at once ,but thats just me lol thanks 4 the vid
You mentioned the bike manufacturer....what was it again?? With built in chain tensioning??

Yes, the freewheel tool I used in this video will work on stock SE freewheel 👍🏻
Nah I literally ordered the tool in the desc n it don’t fit
Can you dm me pictures or video on IG?
i dont mean to sound like a but if u thread the nut back on the axle to hold the tool from skipping out on you and use anti seize makes it better
There’s no way you pay $30 just to remove that.. there is a 10 seconds tool to remove this…I learned from a legend😂🙏🏼
what tool?
If your axle is long enough, put the nut back on to hold the tool in place, makes it way easier..
I have a 27.5 bike with disc brakes how would I put a new freewheel on because I'm putting a 17 teeth freewheel on my bike and it has a 16 th could you explain
does the teeth size matter? wht would u recommend for like wheeling on a big flyer
Heck yeah
I got a socket that fits my freewheel tool and use a 2ft breaker bar

changed my freewheel and now when i pedal hard my chain pops and my wheel goes to one side??
can you replace a freewheel with a fixed gear one ?

what ya running 33/16 t ?
what hub are you running
What’s the purpose of changing freewheel? Sorry to ask. But yeah

What size wrench did you use
Just installed mines today but my cranks move forward when I get on the pegs and stop pedaling, do you know why?
I'd try grease first. Did u ever fix it?

Duh sorry had to go back and look at you message lol. Yeah it’s 3/32 👍🏻
Is this a 29er?
I'd like to buy a vowel. Is there an E?
Which pegs work for throne goon ??
What size wrench did you use on the removal tool? I seem to have every size except that size
I can check tomorrow
Joshua E it’s a 1” wrench 🔧
How do those compare to the Origin8 Freewheel, Is it louder?
Just as loud I would say haha
Holy crap the origin is LOUD!! 🙌🏻. Lol!
I’m new to the bmx bike life, I always wonder why do people have 2 freewheels? I see your bike has one in each side.
One side of my bike is a fixed gear . The other is a freewheel 👍🏻
What are the rims/hubs? I need a purple set
What size sprocket do you run with the new 17t rideout freewheel?
I’m running 33t front 16t rear both rideout supply 👍🏻
Did this freewheel remover work on big flyer? 🤔
It should work on any bike with a free wheel, just make sure it’s a free wheel and not a cassette
