- One of my longest and best friends, Bernie, installs a new Ride Out Supply 15t freewheel on his new Hutch XL-26" Pro Racer big BMX bike. I tagged along with him to talk about the install, the problems he faced, oval chainrings, and the end result. This ROS freewheel has 108 points of engagement along with 9 paws and works on both 3/32 and 1/8 chains. This sucker is loud! If you are looking for that old school buzz of a hornets nest coming from your freewheel, look no further. I don't get anything from the link below nor did we receive the freewheel for free.

What freewheel are you running on your bike?
I had a box two 17t freewheel and I just swapped it for a 16t ROS freewheel and a 33t ROS chainring. The box two is a bit louder and too easy to pedal but the ROS Feels just right. 👌
@@mondayfranklin9692 - Glad you found something that works for you! I'm running the same exact setup on my Big Ripper, but with the Origin8 Hornet and I like it a lot. Thanks for watching and for the comment!
I have a question about the freewheel am new to this am looking for speed which one should I go with.
Drill out the center of the tool to fit
Thank you guys!! Great install video. My dogs always seem to want my attention the most when I'm working on my bike too hahaha.
Isn't that always the case? We had cars, sirens, and helicopters too to deal with! Thanks for watching and for the positive vibes! Appreciate the quality stuff you guys produce and those little notes of thanks in every order really makes a difference!
Glad the bolt trick worked🤘
Yes, the bolt trick works like a charm. But then I learned I didn’t have a 1 inch tire iron 😂
Nice ride. Also the white industries freewheels are loud too. And those "spacers", are the locking collars for the sealed bearings.
Thanks Wade! Appreciate the info. That’s why we don’t have a bike shop! Locking collars makes sense. We’ll have to check out the White Industries freewheels sometime.
Origin 8 hornet 108 is great as well
Having a blast catching up on your Vids! Bernie, get some Rubbing Alcohol on those brake pads.. Aloha!
Thanks for checking them out!! Appreciate it!!
Thats a clean build I spotted flight cranks,Paul brakes, and techniques hubs, personally I can't stand the feel of the kuwihara seat tho, have my order in for an xl29 cant wait to build mine
Thanks! Check out the bike check vid we did on that same bike to see all the parts up close. Good luck with your build!

beautiful sound
Yeah, this freewheel sounds really good. Thanks for watching and for the comment!
Beautiful Hutch and nice tutorial. Love how you guys just wing it.
I picked up the 26” Monza last spring after watching your unboxing and review and I really am enjoying it. Do you guys know if the Rideout Supply free wheel is compatible with the 26”Monza? Thanks🤙
Thanks for the kind comments! Yes, the Rideout Supply Freewheel, 16t or higher, will fit on your Monza. We also use the Origin8 Hornet. Both are equally loud so make sure thatʻs the sound you want! Glad you were able to pick up a Monza and are enjoying it! 🤙🏻
Beautiful bike! Awesome job!
Thank you!! And thanks for watching and for the comment!!
I just put one on my 26" Haro Master and I hate it. There is so much drag.... It cuts my coasting distance in more than half. I bought it a week ago and I'm trying to get my money back. I know it's 108 points of engagement but I still want to be able to coast.
Ahh, sorry to hear that man! Yeah, I guess it does have more drag than other freewheels out there. Hope you can get it swapped for something that suits your needs better! Let us know what you get as others may want the same thing as you. Good luck!
If you put the freewheel remover on and pinch it in your vice with the wheel flat, then turn it like a steering wheel counter clockwise it’s better leverage than a wrench and works awesome
That is an excellent idea for better leverage and Bernie has used that method before. I don't have a vice yet for my garage but that is something I do want to get soon, for that same reason. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to share that great tip!
Beautiful bike!
Thank you! He really did a nice job on it. Thanks for watching and for the comment!
For the big side of the flip-flop hub, Halo makes a thread-on cover called the Halo Fix-T and it comes in different colors. I show it at the very end of my video called: Compare 1.375x24 TPI and M30 freewheel sizes on a BMX style flip-flop hub
I'm going to have to check that out! Thanks for the recommendation!
Love the content about the bikes
Thanks! Appreciate the comment!
i want one but idk what size to get
15t,16t,17t , i have a Throne Goon XL
How many teeth does your Throne have now? The easiest thing is to count how many your current sprocket has and then get the same one. Then you'll know it'll fit. The main difference between the 15t and the 16t is the diameter of the sprocket itself. The 15t is smaller so if your hub currently has a 15t on it now, get the 15. If it has the 16, get the 16, otherwise you'll need to change your hub. Or some hubs have threads on both sides then all you would have to do is flip around your wheel. Hope that makes sense. Good luck and let me know if you need anything else! Thanks for watching!
by any chance would u know the inside diameter of the freewheel? i have a big ripper and the diameter that fits on it is 32mm i believe
Sorry, I don't know the exact diameter of the freewheel but if you have a stock Big Ripper, it'll fit. Not sure about yours but my Big Ripper has those flip flop hubs in the back. The 16t fits on the larger side and if you want to drop down to the 15t, you have to flip your wheel around to the smaller side. Thanks for watching and for the comment!
A M30 hub (for 13,14,15t freewheels) threads are 30mm in diameter. The standard threads (for 16t and up) measures almost 35mm. I double-checked this, and I have a video on it if you search my videos = Compare 1.375x24 TPI and M30 freewheel sizes on a BMX style flip-flop hub. Not sure what you measured to get 32mm.
Cool cool 😎🤟
I just installed this freewheel on my Monza and it sounds and feels good. Thanks for watching and for the comment!
hey I need help so I bought RIDE OUT SUPPLY 16t freewheel and it doesn’t fit my 29 throne what can I do
Does your back hub have a flip flop hub? That means you have threads on both sides of the rear hub. If so, you'll need to turn around your wheel and install it on the other side. If your Throne had a smaller freewheel, like a 15t or below, then that requires a smaller diameter of threads. If your back hub does not have threads on the other side, you will need to return the 16t and get a 15t instead. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching and for the comment!
@@cruisinginthe808 do you have a instagram and so I can show you some pictures
@@cruisinginthe808 plus I have disk brakes
@@jesuscarrasco8452 - What was your size of your freewheel on the Throne? 15? If so you need to swap out the 16 for the 15.
@@kevinmats808 it’s a 16
Will this fit on a Fat Ripper?
Does your Fat Ripper have a regular freewheel now? Or does it have the cassette cog like my Monster Quad does? This will fit only on the hubs that like on a regular Big Ripper. I'm not familiar with the Fat Ripper and what rear wheel it has. Sorry man! But you can also contact ROS and ask them before making that purchase. Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏻
U need some basic bike bolts for cranks her that old look bolts
Which do you feel is louder? Origin8 or ROS?
I want to say they are both equally loud. I didn't notice one being louder than the other. You really can't tell them apart when both of us are riding side by side. Sorry, wish I had a better answer for you! Thanks for the comment and for watching!
16t 34mm diameter?
I honestly do know know the diameter of the freewheel. On the box it just says it fits both 3/32 and 1/8 chains and you need the Park Tool FR6 to install it. I checked their website and they don't state the diameter either. I can tell you it works on the Big Ripper though! It will not work with cassette hubs like you see on the Monster Quad.
Yes, mine measure 34.8mm
