Here's what the other yoshis do:
-Purple doesn't need a shell to ground pound
-Pink turns all enemies into vegetables (from Mario 2)
-Cyan turns all enemies(except shells) into ice blocks (like an ice flower)
-Black gets all powers from shells (flying,fire spit and ground pound. Like the rainbow shells)

1:12 They each have their advantages. Raccoon/Tanuki Mario can fly farther before descending, Cape Mario can fly indefinitely with careful cape manipulation, and then ground pound like an atom bomb, if desired.
Being able to mow down enemies (blue shell/chomp rock) is a winner for me.

Oh and to answer your question, I loved the cape it’s so simple and continuous flight even if it’s a little more complex to use. The super leaf is just so iconic and cute. But the full Tanooki is my favorite.

Well this was eye candy for me since I played the original super Mario world back in 1990. So this was a good change to see these power ups. The ghost. Hahahah

The super leaf is my favorite powerup since I first saw it in Super Mario Brothers 3. The tanuki tail and ears was really cool to me as a kid. And it never stop being cool to me. The tanuki suit is great, but I like the aesthetics of the super leaf more.
Why the Mario Maker 2 Link didn't have its own boomerang baffles me. They managed to put the arrows in just fine, so...
Blue shell would be my favorite but I like the original nonstop version of the blue shell more so I would say either Tanooki or Superball

Mastering cape movement as a kid was really fun
Pretty neat selection of powerups and a decent level to introduce the player to them all, but are there any actual levels designed to take advantage of these powerups?
Probably. I need to find some good levels for this game
the majority of these powerups were actual powerups featuring in real mario games at one point or another. yoshis island, mario galaxy series and mario maker showcase many of these, and do them justice. the blue shell featured in new sup for the ds and unlocked cannon sections among other things.

The deja vu though haha, the arqwardness and your confusion when you are explaining the Peach Mario Powerup, and the "lightning bolt powerup" forgetting that Volt Shroom exists in Paper Mario, oh yes, and I love when you screw up on the ice flower part, just because they use the same freaking button for running, and you always wanna run, but it picks up the ice and you fall onto the spikes, I wonder if the creator purposely took advantage oif the fact that the run and attack buttons are the same? Probably to throw 'em off guard in super smash bros, haha!

The name of the Kangaroo is "Rick", and the name of the red Lizard is "Dimitri". Both come from the Legend of Zelda games "Oracle of Seasons" and "Oracle of Ages", where you can get one of them as helpful mounts. They also had a flying, ground-pounding bear named "Benny", which seems to not have made the cut here.

Play Super Mario Mario 3 on scratch. Its a fan made game you can of course make yore level and you can place start and end. Finally you can add as many cheek points and sub areas as you want

The dinosaur Mount is actually a reference to a video game made from squareenix called E. V. O. It's an evolution like RPG platformer where you run around and eat and fight bosses in order to have genetic mutations for evolution
