Hi, i just watched the video and i want to get your opinion. Which one do you think would be better stock, the corsair k70 tkl or the huntsman v2 tkl? Im deciding on either one.
@@Just_somecarguy they are two different beast but I think the k70. The huntsman would have faster actuation but the K70 uses genuine cherry switches and it comes with speed reds. The only thing I would be worried about would be case ping.
@@erfanhemayati9338 if you take the keycaps off you can use a par of tweezers to remove the red rubber piece. They are not glued in so it's pretty simple
So being as this vid turns up when searching for how to open this keyboard.... There's actually a hidden screw by the USB-C port, right infront of the port itself. It's underneath what looks _exactly_ like a piece of black plastic, but it's actually a sticker. The sticker is easy to remove and put back without causing damage. Just get a sharp blade under the edge and carefully peel it back. BTW both the Huntsman V2 TKL and the TE TKL have this hidden screw. So what you may have done here was rip off a part of plastic that the screw held in, then assumed the sticker was glue lol.
@@eessa2364 Hmm weird, in another teardown vid i can see what looks like the hidden screw hole in the same place as on my V2, but it seems to use glue on it instead. The vid is called "Unboxing the Razer Huntsman Tournament edition, plus teardown" and it's at the 11 mins 50 seconds mark. The guy just pulls it apart lol.
you good bro? you sound like you're running out of breath the whole time, its worrying... :( great video btw, gave me confidence to do this to my huntsman.
I have a question. I started customizing keyboards about a year ago and one thing I've noticed in these types of videos is no one seems to be worried about static discharge killing their board. No discharge bands or anti static mats that I've seen. So it makes me curious, since you definitely need them when working on PC's. Is it not needed when handling the PCB of a keyboard?
Truthfully, it's a bad habit that I've developed because of where I live. In Florida the humidity is so high that we rarely have issues with static electricity. Keyboards are a lot lower risk than motherboards and modern motherboards are a lot lower risk than older ones.
Thanks for showing. Where die you by the keycaps? and how is the Name of the brand and type of it? An Video of all possible fitting switches you now for the huntsman v2 tkl was cool. And if you show only online onscreen is it ok too. But i am not a pro in Keyboards, more a noob. Just wanne costumize my one in better lighting and a little colourful switches. Thanks and greetings
As an old unix junkie raised on IBM model M keyboards, I must say that I love this keyboard. The only thing that i dont like is the completely detached wrist pad which tends to slide off a bit when you write over a long period of time. Looking at the 4mm front facing profile of the keyboard, i was thinking: Are metal and magnetic pads a good idea to have a virtually invisible magnetic dock for the wrist pad?
some keys do not respond to me and change the swtich of place grettin I cleaned everything, I don't know what to do anymore greetings from Argentina R .H. V2 Tkl esp
GreatThanPie, I split some water on the "a" key. When I tried to press it, the "a" created "av" "av" "av" I was like oh fuck, I unplugged it, flipped it over and let it dry on a dry towel over a radiator. 2 days passed and now well the "a" doesn't work at all, I connect the keyboard to another device again the "a" key doesn't work is there any chance that it would work like if I let it dried for a week?
The huntsman optical switches are incredibly light weight and are not built in a way that they could prevent wobble. Razer had to come up with a solution to a problem created by this switch design
@@greaterthanpie i bought the keyboard a while ago, getting into modding only recently - the keys wobble already a little bit, removing the stabilizers barely changes anything.. i thought maybe they stopped the key from twisting but it doesnt seem like it either... it could be so that the keys go down uniformly regardless of where the finger is situated on the keycaps, kinda like the stabilizers on the wider keys, but then why would those have single key stabilizers too? Ill try with and without stabilizers and report on the difference
I was thinking of getting this keyboard but wanted a keyboard thats pretty easily customizable, are their specific keycaps that work with razer boards or will most standard keycaps fit?
Hi why tkl sounds so much worse than mini version? i want the tkl but the sound is putting me off do u know the difference and what can i do to make it similar to mini ?
@@greaterthanpie Is that possible without breaking them? Do you know what type of spring I should get or where to get them or better yet a link to them?
@@CraftyStuPewpew unfortunately, you would need to know your way around a soldering iron. But it would be possible. If it's something you're willing to live with then I would not attempt it. But you can look up how to do it on TH-cam or on iFixit's website.
I just watched Randomfrankp's modding video for the Huntsman Mini and I saw that he placed an EVA foam on the keyboard's case. Is there enough space for an EVA foam for this keyboard?
i accidently spilled some coffee over my razer huntsman v2. do you think there is a way to fix it? and how would you do that? some of the numbers have problems with jumping up again so i think its in the slides blocking the motion.
I would recommend using rubbing alcohol to clean the switches that are acting up. Also it's safe to use on the PCB if there are any spots on it. Just give it plenty of time to dry before using it after you clean it
I ended up removing the sound dampers and now I love it

Also I didn’t have glue holding mine together, but there is a hidden screw under the sticker where the usb c plug goes into the on.
There was no glue, Underneath the usb C connector there is a small pad that you need to remove and take the small Phillip's screw out.. again not glue

U deff broke it lmfao theres a hidden screw under the usb c port
Fortunately still works 😂
My keyboard stopped working i thought it was in demo mode but it doesnt work anymore.. need help
The V1 switches do not have rubber dampeners on the switch.
Yep that's a v2 thing. The good news is it's pretty essay to remove them
I did custom keyboard after ripped two or 3 Analog v2 one of them I dont get refund/replace I have broken off the contacts maybe I can still solder
Ouch I did not see any contact on the PCB on mine but it's good to know you need to be careful in there.
Whats the point of single-switch stabilizers like that? it kinda looks like they just create more noise, without really stabilizing anything?

Those are the Drop Skylight keycaps in Bamboo

make sure it's a red switch one, because the TKL is supposed to be more quiet
