      Dao Yang for now. The marketplace is currently demanding leaner beef but eventually I'll be getting some Japanese wagyu beef cattle to raise and sell their meat.

    My friend and I followed this recipe and ate this last night and it was SO DELICIOUS!!! I'd only had Kanto-style sukiyaki before and this was my first time enjoying it Kansai-style and it was really phenomenal, it was an amazing meal. It tasted decadent even though it was so simple to prepare! Very good for enjoying with other people and chatting while adding and seasoning the ingredients. I definitely want to do this again!

    If people are so concerned with raw eggs being unsafe, then there are 2 methods that can be done to pasteurize them at home or make them safer to consume.
    1) Outside Method: Submerge your eggs in 140 Degree water for 3 minutes in a sauce pan, making sure not to exceed 142 degrees for those 3 minutes. Rinse them in cold water immediately. This method allows you to store the eggs in the fridge for later use.
    2) Inside Method: For every egg, combine 2 Tbsp liquid (lemon juice, water, flavorings, or milk... but do not combine the lemon and milk for they will curdle) in a clean stainless steel bowl, whisking until frothy. Fill a sauce pan halfway with water and bring to a boil. When it starts boiling, turn off the heat. Place the bowl with the egg mixture over the saucepan and whisk constantly for 2-3 minutes or until the water in the sauce pan is lukewarm. Make sure the water does not touch the bowl holding the egg mixture. This method is for immediate use of the eggs.
    *Note: To pasteurize egg yolks, use 4 Tbsp of liquid for every egg yolk.
    If this still doesn't convince you of its safety, then soft boil the egg for 2 minutes, crack it open and whisk with a fork. The whites will be slightly lumpy, but at least it'll be safe enough to use in this specific recipe.
    So there is no need to fear raw eggs at home with these techniques :)

      It's because Japanese eggs are sold pasteurized, and for some reason, eggs in the west typically aren't. So westerners see it and assume it's a lot more gross than it actually is.
      Despite being a westerner, I don't mind raw egg. The whites on their own have a texture I don't love, but if it's beaten/scrambled or just the yolk, it's delicious.

    • @FabbrizioPlays
      @FabbrizioPlays 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Japanese eggs are eggs sold in Japan. I don't see why this is confusing to you, unless you're just itching to fight about something and don't care what it is.
      I live in the US and I very rarely see pasteurized eggs - at major grocery stores, pretty much never.

    Raw eggs. many people think its dangerous to eat right? Im from asia and there are a lot of eggs which they so called it 'fresh' even if they are not. I would always go to the market instead of the grocery store in order to buy fresh eggs. I can eat them no problem, but if you guys think that it is risky then don't eat it raw. It is as simple as that. May i tell you when you eat gingerbread cookies or any other cookies, the royal icing is made from "RAW EGG WHITES and icing sugar." I always laught at those people who eat the royal icing in the cookies and then they would comment on how raw eggs are risky in some videos. So stop your whining, because most of you eat raw eggs too.

    • @angelougalam8672
      @angelougalam8672 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes i know that it risky, but you know I eat raw eggs, raw fish (sometimes) and raw meant(once in a blood moon) and up until now, i never had any sickness. That just proves what people say are just wrong, now im here just to tell you what i have been doing, not forcing you or anything.

    • @DMTHOTH

      Angelina Caterina no, that was just your luck. that's not gonna happen other people too.

    • @angelougalam8672
      @angelougalam8672 9 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      nope, i dont believe what you call luck lol.

    • @MissBrieBiscuit
      @MissBrieBiscuit 9 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      DMTHOTH 'More likely', as you said, means its a possibility, not a definite occurrence. It is more likely to find salmonella in these things than it is to find it in, for the purpose of example, vegetables. But salmonella is not a component of raw meats in the same way that their protein or iron is. Eating raw meat and risking salmonella is like eating a raw vegetable and risking E. coli. The people that get sick from these things are the "lucky" ones.

    • @Deenahwashere
      @Deenahwashere 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Angelina Caterina I agree with you but it all depends where you live in the world.. Here in Norway Salmonella is rare in eggs so we eat it raw all the time in batters, toppings, sunny side up, poached etc. :) We also can just eat a raw egg and when I make this I will. I dont like the idea of eating raw egg by itself though. :d

    there are many times I wish I had been born of a different country. But none more so than japanese. Their history and culture is full of wonderful traditions that have survived and flourished until now. Their food is as amazing as they are. I always get a small smile and warm feeling when I see chef enjoying the food. May she continue to enjoy it for as long as the gods deem it so. Happy Holidays.

    An old friend of mine used to make this for me when I would go to her house! It was sooooo good! Especially the egg!
