Hi! Next time, kindly add question number / video minute for reference 🙂 But I got ya, your question is about question no 1/13 at 16:42. I am afraid your calculation is not correct. The task states that in 2021, the company had 10% fewer customers than in 2020. Equivalently, this means that the number of 2021 customers amounts to 90% of 2020 customers. In order to compute the number of 2020 customers from the given number of 72.000 customers in 2021, you need to multiply by the reciprocal value: 1/90%, or 1/0,9, or 10/9 (as it is written in my solution). When applying a percentage reduction in one direction, in order to return to the original number, you always have to apply the reciprocal value. For instance, if you increase 100 by 10% (or multiply by 1,1), it yields you 110. If you then again (wrongly) reduce by 10%, you land at 99 instead of 100. Instead you have to multiply by reciprocal value 1/1,1=10/11 to return to 100. If you are still unclear, take a look at my percentage calculation recap video 🙂
Glad you found it! 🚀 I put all effort into making this tutorial as instructive as possible 😎 If you like to return a favor, share the video with one peer who you know is also preparing for an SHL test! Good luck for yours ✨

Hiii 🎉 have a question please. What’s your tips to do these in time constraints? The question will have only a little over a minute to answer… how can these be done quickly??
Hi! In the video, I had pointed the fact that some question types demand more time than others. For instance, in the numerical reasoning test part, you should run rather quickly through the, e.g., line chart and ranking questions, so that you can spend a bit more time on the pie chart and bar chart questions. If you feel you struggle for too long with a specific question, it is important that you do not get hung up to it for too much time and rather skip it and move on quickly. Finally, yes the tests are designed to put you under time stress. It is unlikely you will be able to a) go through all questions AND b) answer all of them correctly. However, you will never need to get 100% right. The cut-off score may depend on the competitiveness of your target employer; the more applicants, probably the higher the cut-off score.

Hello Jack, I come again! Your video has been amazing and helped me make sense of everything. The company I've applied for a role in did not specify whether I'll be doing the old multiple choice or the new interactive test however, they stated that I will have approximately 18mins to complete. Does this information help deduce which test I'll be required to complete? I look forward to your prompt response.
Happy to hear that! 👍🏼 If you go back to 11:11 of the video - 18 minutes sounds as if you might be asked to take one of the new modules - if it is only one of the modules, then most likely it will be the interactive numerical reasoning test. Obviously, I am engaging in speculation here, so please take my educated guess with caution 🙂 Good luck for your test!
Sure, you are referring to question 10 at minute 36:42. The Operations condition says: "Operations is scheduled with the same difference from sales as it is from R&D". Given the first 3 slots are taken already, Operations has to come fourth (otherwise, it would be impossible to have the Operations workshop be equidistant to two other workshops). Then Operations is two slots away from sales, so it must also be two slots away from R&D. For this reason, R&D must take place as the last workshop, and the remaining slot no 5 is assigned to Marketing. Clear now?
Hi jack, I've got an SHL deductive test coming up and as I've requested extra tine, my time limit is 30 min. I was wondering if could deduce whether this is a non-interactive or interactive test? thanks for the great video

@louishayes5898 very good question! In the real test, you would need to drag the borders of the bars to their correct levels instead of typing in the digits, so the legend here is just an illustration.
Hi! You refer to question 2 at 17:43, right? In order to solve for C, you need to plug in the solutions for A, B and D into the fourth equation, hence: 250.000 = (4xC) + (4xC - 92.200) + C + (C + 4200). This equals to 250.000 = 10xC - 88.000. Now, you solve for C and obtain C = 33800. I hope this clears up your confusion 🙂
Hi Jack! I am slightly confused. Time stamp 22:30: Jerome and Maria seem to be the same. Jerome made target at exactly 10% and didn't exceed the goal, yet he's receiving a bonus. Maria made target as well at just over 10% at 437.8 deliveries, but I rounded it off to 437 instead yet she isn't receiving a bonus. Why is that?
Hi! Was just about to respond to your question on the pie chart / island C, but seems you have resolved it yourself in the meantime 🙂 Jerome indeed completed 770/700 = 10% deliveries, and his average rating is sufficient to earn the 25 USD bonus. Maria completed 437/398 < 10% deliveries (check your calculation once again!), which is why she has not earned the bonus. Clear now?
Party on! Thank you for the helpful Video. I tried the SHL Practice Test and the time was so short, I could not manage it. Is it really about to finish everything correctly in the given time?
Thank you very much 🖖 Of course, the more questions you answer, the better! Party on! I love this.
Thank you! I love your comment 😀
Can you explain how you get the polouplation of Island C please?
Hi! You refer to question 2 at 18:47, right? In order to solve for C, you need to plug in the solutions for A, B and D into the fourth equation, hence: 250.000 = (4xC) + (4xC - 92.200) + C + (C + 4200). This equals to 250.000 = 10xC - 88.000. Now, you solve for C and obtain C = 33800. Is it clear now?
@@YOUinConsulting How do solve for C, i get that 92,200-4,200 gives the 88,000, and what makes uo the 10xc , is it the (4xc)+(4xc)+c+c. Thanks
Like terms adds up so you’d have 4x+4x+x+x= 10x
hello. I have a total of 46 minutes for the general assesment and 20 minutes for the personality profile. Will it be interactive? Thanks
Kindly check the table at 11:18 of the video. 46 minutes is more than the usual 36 minutes. SHL offers many different test modules, maybe you can inquire a little more about the number of questions to expect?
@@YOUinConsulting im guessing its the 10 minutes time for reading the instructions and sample questions. I'm thinking right now if I can open the "start assesment" in my email so I can have a clue in the starting menu of SHL if its interactive or the MC one. I cant inquire the number of questions since the company based who sent me ths shl email is based from another country, and not from my HR.
@@joseph3662 I understand. Yes, you can do that. See minute 10:45 of my video :) Works?
@@YOUinConsulting Upon checking, yeah, its interactive. There are words like drag and activity based on the instruction page. Thank you so much for this vid. Party On Jack.
@@joseph3662 are you attempting this for Astra Zeneca?
Im attending a shl assessment for daa. Can u let me know what can I expect
@@similjoy343 DAA =? Please follow the steps described from 08:17 to find out
Hey, I need to prepare for a new version interactive general ability test in short time. I will highly appreciate for your guidance.
Hi, then this video is made for you! It features and covers the entire new interactive version of the general ability test 👍🏼
@@YOUinConsulting. Thanks..It is super! Could you please provide more preparation materials specific for test. Such as concept about graph calculation or for ratio questions
@@aysha1402 Glad you find it useful 👍🏼 You find further free test prep materials in my online test prepkit for download (instructions in video & description)
Thanks Jack! Party on.
You made it!! 💪🎉
@@YOUinConsultingHello Jack, I have texted you on LinkedIn and would like to discuss about the courses you are offering. Could you please revert to me on that. Thanks in advance 😊
Got ya now. We talked it out 😀
First of all Thank you for your video it was amezing. For the Ranking 21:39 I think Rita should be 2 and Dirk should be 1. could you please expain more
You are right and this is the case. See the numbers in the red bubbles at minute 21:39, Rita is no 2 and Dirk no 1.
Party on!
Get out the champagne 🍾😉
33:40 such questions are effective to solve on printed papers instead of on screen
Yes! If you watch for two minutes longer, I recommend exactly that! 😎
@@YOUinConsulting sure, I did and got after two minutes later :)). ... Thank you for such helpful video
@@js_offc8436 Haha cool, then we had the same thought 😎 Happy you find it useful 👍
IN MINUTE 18:41, how did you solve C?
You need to plug in the partial solutions for A, B and D (first three equations) into the last equations, so the only remaining variable in the last equation is C. Then, solve for C.
I don't seem to receive the e-mail after subscribing. How long does it take?
Hi! You receive the emails immediately after signing up. I have just checked for your account - you have received the welcome email and now just need to click the buttons to get the free test prepkit 🙂 Kindly confirm you have received everything 👍🏼
@@YOUinConsulting I did! Thank you!
@@kiddepim Happy to hear that! Good luck with your test 👍🏼
Are calculators allowed?
For the online test, yes for sure!! Nobody notices anyway what you do when you are taking the test from home... If you have to take the test in the employer office, I am less sure - I suggest you to just ask for their conditions, since it is a fair question to ask! Good luck, Jack
Still very confused about the moving triangle question at 39:20
Same!
@@arranknight2379 Hi, finally realized it, try and imagine they are not triangles, just boxes. Imagine that you're downloading something and the shaded part is moving from right to left for each shape
Moving from each tile from the left to the right, the each pair of triangles moves one step to the left within the shapes. Can you see it?
these questions are not difficult.... its the time limit that kills you.... how can speed through them with accuracy?
It is indeed tough to be correct on all of them. One strategy is to know which are the more difficult ones to skip those and complete the other, less time-consuming ones
Party on🎉
...as if there was no tomorrow! 😉
