Had the same model many years back - it truly was the perfect bike: fast, comfortable, and the engine was faultless.

I am in the process of building an 07 as I type. I bought it for the same price. Guy thought the motor was blown and he sold it to me not really disclosing that the motor might be blown. He stated that it would not start.so without testing it first, I went out and bought a spare motor. However, the motor was not the problem. The problem was that there was a stater bolt that had came loose. Apparently, he dropped the bike and did not disclose that to me either. Well, because the stater was loose It caused the stater to jar when he dropped it and it broke one of the stater stays inside of the casing. This was the rattling he heard. It was rattling around like a penny in the tin can. So I replaced everything brand new. Upon further inspection of the bike, all the brake pads were almost down to the metal. The tires were in horrible condition. There were exposed wiring under the seat. He tried to do a rectifier relocation but he did it really sloppy with a bunch of electrical tape. Continuing to ride this bike would have inevitably cause this boy to die. So, I do race. I am turning the bike into a track street bike. My other bike is a 2015 RSV4 factory Aprilia built for the track. So this bike I wanted to keep as a streetable track bike. I'm almost done, but I ended up replacing everything. Pretty much new everything. I went through the whole entire bike. They are great bikes. The only problem is ordering parts. Most of the time you gotta get them from over seas. That may take forever. Great restoration

Great piece of work! Not a lot of labor involved this time, but a great project! But man was that a lot of rust coming out of the cooling system. At first, I thought it was just orange coolant, but since it was a track bike that wouldn’t be the case. Good eye for the loose bolt on the case cover.
    Keep up the good work!

Awesome content! I need more of the raw riding with that Daytona Whistle OMG haha. I have an 08 Daytona Blackout with gold accents haven't rode in 2 yrs it started slipping in second at mid rpms and I had a stretched chain that over stretched and started slapping at 155 on a country road no gear on and jammed the rear tire causing fishtail so I took the hint and took a break but damn I need to get back on keep the inspiration coming and have fun they are so nimble and fast enough lol got me jelly.

Sounds like your issue was not the bike. But poor maintenance. Bikes are dangerous enough. We must take the time to make sure they are in the best operational shape possible.

Nice work, The Triumph looks straightforward and not over engineered. Even though my bikes only a Suzuki its still way more complicated and annoying to remove bits or parts. Removing the sprocket cover is a total PITA due to the clutch lever going through it.

Ohh but that bike was a track bike, that’s why you get it for $1.700, a track bike is much cheaper than a street bike because you have to put a lot of money on these bikes, a good daytona 675 cost more than $5.000 dollars, you cant find Daytona 675 for $1.700 hahaha
